Worst experience ever! They took my money and for three months I tried to go four times to get a tooth taken out. Not once did they ask me if I would like a refund because they couldn't provide me the service I paid for. I called last Tuesday and was advised they would call me by Friday about refunding my money. They never called so I showed up to the business today on Monday the following week. The lady I spoke to that following Tuesday showed no concern for her lack of keeping her promise of returning my call. And she just showed no interest in why I was there. She lacked empathy for the situation completely and acted like I was in the wrong for wanting $300 back! They then tell me they can use my card to refund my money. They swiped my card and gave me a receipt. I then check my bank account three hours later and my account was over drafted $3,063.74. I called my bank USAA and they told me the dentist made that charge in error and did a chargeback and that's why it hit my account like that. They stated the charge should drop off my account within the next 24 hours. If it wasn't for me having another bank account and having money saved I would have been completely screwed over! Comfort Dental in midtown was Polish Dental. I guess the company is expanding but I recommend anyone looking at this dental office to reviews for Polish first. I'll be short with my horror story. Broke a front tooth (face plant) and needed a crown. They were grind crazy. Temporary never stayed in. I was assured permanent would be better. It's not. They could care less. Now, I'm paying extra $6k to get tooth fixed & new crown- elsewhere. They acknowledged they did the damage but still expected me to pay them more to fix it. SMH. Also- they never filled with both my insurances. Sticking me with even more expense. There's more to it but that's the gigst. Get second opinion on any big project! This is a scam company. Made appointment for regular cleaning covered under insurance. Arrived and all was well. Very friendly, etc. Waited for 45 minutes in chair and still no cleaning process has started. Doctor had been in, X-rays taken and sit. Next thing I know they asking me to sign a release for them to charge me almost $500 for additional services. Services they deduced without ever working on my teeth. I reiterated I was here for my cleaning and not interested in their additional products. They proceeded to take the bib off and say nope this what the doctor wants. Stood up and asked for the paperwork I had just completed. They said sure, for $40 I could have that. What a ripoff joint this place is. Do not go here. read more

I was looking for a dental home. This place is literally 5 mins away. I met the dentist briefly and she seemed very warm and knowledgeable. My BIGGEST issue is customer service! The front desk young lady has the worst attitude to be a representative of an actual business. I didn't appreciate how i felt when dealing with her. Especially with being a cash patient, she had no real concern for working with a potential lifetime client. When i tried going elsewhere they charged me $40 to EMAIL MY XRAYS to another office even though i came IN PERSON to pay and could have picked them up directly. Thats not HIPPAA law as they "claimed" it to be and I will be filling a further complaint in regards to their business practices. Truly disgusted that someone would allow their that type of representation for their business. I guess thats why they are have consistently low ratings. read more

Be very careful with this dentist. They tried to charge me for a service after they had charged my insurance. I am in the military and I knew this was strange. After I called my insurance and inquired about receiving an additional bill, they called Comfort Dental and it seemed like everything was settled. I decided however to change dentists because of the issue, also because they did not provide me with the recommended follow up care since they were not happy about not being paid twice. When I requested my records to be taken to my new dentist, they informed me that I would have to pay the disputed balance and also an additional $40.00 in order for them to release my records. Not only did they not provide the follow up service that I needed, in essence they are holding my records hostage because they were not paid twice....LOL. They can keep the records. I will be starting over from scratch. Be very careful!! read more

I thought I found my new dentist, unfortunately I was completely wrong. To begin with the staff is unusually rude. First impressions are lasting ones. I wish I had did more research on this practice prior to allowing them to work on my teeth. Not only is the work extremely subpar, but the service is the worst I have ever experienced. Scheduling, Billing, communication is clearly not something they take pride in doing. The nasty matter of fact way the staff addresses patients is beyond my understanding. You would think that they were providing free services and that you were an inconvenience to them by being a patient. I found this practice through my insurance because my dentist I had been visiting the past 10 years is no longer in my network so they were a bit more costly than going to an in network provider. Let me say this, You CANNOT put a price on service. I will not be returning. I would much rather pay a higher price for quality work and better customer service. read more

I had the best experience I have EVER had at a dentist with Dr.Alisa. The staff incredibly welcoming when I arrived for my first appointment, everyone greeted me by name and took me on a tour of the office before my consultation. Every step of the way, I was informed about what was happening. I've been to quite a few dentists, because I have moved a lot, and this experience was so much better than most, partially because I didn't feel like just another patient. I felt like I was being let in on my treatment plan from the start. Something else unique to this office that I have never experienced at any other dentist: Dr. Alisa came to do a consultation before I ever got a cleaning. EVERY other dentist I've ever been to has maybe popped their head in for 5-10 minutes after a cleaning to check my teeth and then politely excuse themselves before any small talk can happen. NOT the case at Comfort (which really is such a fitting name, I felt so so comfortable there), Dr.Alisa spent nearly 20 minutes with me, getting to know me and explaining how she was going to give me the smile I want before any dental work was done. Billing is never a fun conversation, but before any services occurred, Dr. Nelson's office manager reviewed every charge that would occur, explained my insurance copays so I could understand them, and worked with me to figure out a payment plan that will work for me. I felt like everyone was on my team at Comfort, I never felt embarrassed or unsure about what was happening. Everything is explained with a smile and with detail. When Dr.Alisa began doing my dental work, she made sure I wasn't in any pain and explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. She was very gentle and precise with her instruments, and I can tell she takes pride in her dentistry. She is obviously incredibly knowledgeable, informing me of options no other dentist has brought to my attention, but not too pretentious to translate what she's saying into layman's terms. Another important thing to address here is that I, like so many people who go to the dentist, get very nervous and self conscious about my teeth. I think it comes from going to the dentist and feeling judged, or like...just another set of teeth. At Comfort, I never felt this way. In fact, I felt encouraged and hopeful and supported by my treatment plan and the kind people carrying it out for me. The most important thing I would like anyone considering going to Comfort Dental to know, is that this is a unique office focused on making the visit as pleasant, thorough, and informative as possible. I felt like a priority. I felt informed about the financial and procedural aspects of my visit. I felt comfortable and confident in the dentistry. I can't wrap my head around the negative reviews of Comfort Dental. Dental visits aren't generally pleasant to begin with but Dr. Alisa Nelson-Wade and staff have always made the session as comfortable and pleasant as possible. She's always cheerful, patient, and happy to explain what's being done and what is recommended. Their pricing is very reasonable compared to some of the "larger" dental practices that I've been to many years ago. I recently needed a somewhat more "urgent" visit due to a cracked molar and had a quick appointment where I was fitted for a crown in the first visit. No time wasting and quick turn-around. I'll be a patient of this dental practice for a long time and can wholeheartedly give a big thumbs-up. Thank you Comfort Dental! read more

I Do Not Recommended!! I was referred to this dentist 2 year ago, the service here has always been sub par. I gave them multiple opportunities. My daughter and myself had our 2 cleaning for the year with a few scheduling problems on their part. I cracked a tooth that had been built up from my previous dentist 3 years prior to me having this Destist do any work. But not knowing the Insurance prior. I was unaware that if you a tooth that doesn't last the full 5years. I would have to pay out of pocket for any repairs. Before having work done by Comfort Dental I had checked with my secondary insurance but it was brought to my attention they do not file secondary insurance at CD. From this point I get the work done by CD and file the claim thru my secondary Insurance myself! I went 15 days with a broken tooth and pain before getting and appointment this would have never happened at my previous Dentist. To top it off the temporary post and core doesn't stay in my mouth. They advised me to go purchase from walgreens a denture paste to hold it instead of fixing it probably. Then final permanent tooth comes in and they say it needs to be paid in full in order to move forward. So hesitate to paid in full the balance not knowing if the permanent tooth would stay because the temporary didn't fit properly I Paid. My suspicious was correct I had to. go back twice because now my permanent tooth Kept falling out. Finally Dr Nelson gets the tooth to stay but a year later my worst fear the tooth is giving me problems. Fast forward So I was out of town tooth started hurting (all the nerves should be dead)so I find a dentist on call where I am out of town and he said this tooth isn't seated properly and needs to be replaced. Around $1000.00 Remember the original tooth lasted 3 years and the new tooth done by Dr Nelson office didn't make it one year due to poor workmanship on Comfort Dental. After returning home I make an appointment hoping she would fix this tooth at no charge after paying a $1000 less than a year ago. To be told that I need to pay an additional $250 for her to correct something she didn't do correct the first 5 times. Another dentist was there yesterday, hygienist staff is always changing. I Said No Thank you I would rather pay out of my pocket than to give comfort Dental another dime of my money. So Beware do your homework!!after reading Yelp reviews the comments said it all. I made an appt with no issues and was told at that time, 'if it has been over 6 months since your last cleaning, you may need more of a cleaning and insurance doesnt cover that.' They did X-rays as a dentist normally would, looked at my mouth, and said they would see what insurance would cover and be right back. Upon returning he told me the breakdown: X-rays were covered by insurance, and so was a routine cleaning. Then he said 'BUT you need an extensive cleaning.' I said, well thats ok, I just want what insurance will cover this time. He said NO WE WONT DO THAT. I said what? It is my mouth and all I want is the routine. He refused so I said then I am leaving. I explained to them at the front before I was leaving that I thought that was crazy considering it is my mouth I should choose my treatment. She said it was "malpractice" if they just did the routine cleaning. MALPRACTICE??? That isnt what that word means! Anyway, I have now made another appt at another dentist, explained the situation. They will do a routine IF that is all I want. I called Comfort Dental to get my X-rays and they stated I had to pay $40 to get them. When I called my insurance company to see if they can do this with my plan, I found out that they billed insurance for an entire mouth X-ray and not the normal bite wing, etc. that you normally get at a cleaning appt. So the claim was denied. Moral of my experience, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!! They are trying to get money any way they can! I have now filed a complaint against them and looks like other have to! read more

Had a great experience with the dr as well as the staff. Everything was made easy for me. I had a chipped tooth that had started giving me problems I made the appointment, was called back in a timely manner tho the office was full. I got prepped for a crown, came back 2 weeks later and got it put on. Good deal. read more

I took my family to Comfort Dental Studio for cleanings after a bad experience with a big dental chain. We were nervous but dr. Nelson and her staff mad us feel at ease.
