Let me start with the good. The staff and house keeping was awsome given what they have to work with. Rooms were clean and free breakfast was excellent during my stay. The Bad I travel a lot and this is the worst room configuration that I have ever had. the room I stayed in was so small the bathroom seamed larger than the room itself no desk and hardly any room. To walk to the door . Fitness center was a disappointment. Treadmill so worn out and dysfunctional that someone to possibly get hurt on it. The elliptical was a piece of crap that needs to be both reset /replaced . In summary staff did an excellent job. The hotel just need to work on some important issues. In their defense they are doing some renovations . My remove the couch from the room and replace with a for professionals that work like myself and of course maintain your Fitness Center read more

I am currently in my room at the Comfort Suites in beautiful Barstow, CA. Pros: Clean, comfortable. Cons: NOISY. The walls must be made of rice paper. I can hear people talking 2 rooms away from me. Someone in the room above me decided to take a shower at midnight. When they turned the water on, it sounded like I was underneath a waterfall. We are in this Covid 19 dilemma and there is no normal breakfast served so I cannot comment on that. I would stay here again, but would request a room on the top floor. read more

After being stuck in horrific traffic for six hours we decided to pull off the freeway and find a place to stay for the night. We were able to book a last-minute room here and check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We were surprised how nice (and big) the room was! We settled in then took a dip in the pool. Slept great! The beds were comfy and the room was very clean. The full breakfast the next morning was fantastic! Lots of choices. Great location. Right behind flyingJ gas and walking distance to restaurants. Google advertises price as $88, but is $100+. From the photos you can see there were several hairs found, these are just the ones we could see (gross). Had a nice AC system and the room itself was good. My complaint is the hair everywhere...someone needs to get a hair net or the room wasn't cleaned properly. Probably skip staying at this chain of hotels from now on. read more

This Comfort Suites location is pretty nice! We stumbled upon this place recently on accident and in the middle of the night on a drive home from the SoCal beach. We were pleasantly surprised as well! Here are the highights for you: 1. Great location! This Comfort Suites is right off of the Lenwood exit in Barstow. This is the exit next to the outlet mall, a ton of places to eat, and can be easily seen from the highway. 2. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. We met with a couple different people and everyone was very nice. 3. The rooms are comfy and the bed was nice. It was a nice place to stop for the night and recoup. I would definitely stay here again. 4. Lots of free parking! 5. Free breakfast! So if you need to take a break from driving in Barstow, check out the Comfort Suites. read more

Great property. Friends that live in the area said it was new within the last 2 years. Very clean & nice. Staff is super friendly & professional. Breakfast area is bright, clean, and spacious. Variety of table sizes to accommodate any size party. No tripping over other diners while you're there. Coffee bar is open 24/7. Different hot breakfast items each day. Fitness room is clean and has the basics. Well lit and includes a tv. Guest rooms are spacious and ours included a fridge, microwave, and sink. Bathroom was very large. Seating area separated from bed area by a partial wall. Lobby is bright and open as well. Opens right into the breakfast area. 2 computers with printers for those tethered to the internet/email (as I am). :) Lobby also has a couple of couches for lounging another tv and a fireplace. Was there a couple of weekends ago and decor was all decked out for Halloween. Didn't get a chance to try the pool :( but looked it over and seemed as clean as the rest of the property. For the price we paid, the room was what we expected. It was nice and clean, the sheets were soft and cozy and there were plenty of pillows to go around. The bathroom, and room overall, was huge and also very clean. Obviously the building was brand new and it looked like it. Apparently, we just were at the wrong place at the wrong time. - Checking in was difficult even though we booked through orbitz and had already paid for the room. The woman at the front desk didn't know what she was doing and after about 30 minutes, told us she would figure it out later and gave us our keys. - The only thing we wanted to do after driving for hours was soak in the hot tub which wasn't very hot and the pool had garbage floating in it. - When we woke up in the morning, there was no regular coffee in the room. All we could find was decaf. Not really the eye opener you want first thing in the morning. P ended up having to go downstairs for some coffee. - The breakfast was fair, nothing to write home about. Good thing it was included in the room price. - Apparently because of the check-in fiasco, that created a world of trouble for checking out. The guy seemed to know what he was doing, but couldn't untangle the mess that was created the night before. After about 20 minutes, he ended up having to call a manager, who wasn't onsite yet, so we had to wait for her to arrive. When she showed up, she said that the real problem was with the hotel to orbitz transaction and had nothing to do with us, so we were free to go. The disappointing thing was there was compensation or even an apology for the amount of time we spent checking in and out. The room was what we expected but the customer service was definitely lacking. You would think that this size chain hotel, the check-in/check-out process would be a no brainer. With so many other places around we probably won't go out of our way to stay here again. read more

Our motorcycle club was involved in a horrific accident 24 miles from Barstow. I called the Comfort Suites to reserve 5 rooms for our members. Upon arrival at the hotel, John took extra special care of us. He ensured that our injured member had a wheelchair available for her comfort. John also made certain that the sign-in sheets for our rooms were available upon our arrival. John also ensured our three injured members were placed in accessible rooms. I cannot begin to express the gratitude my club and I have for Comfort Suites, ESPECIALLY the special care John showed us. I have NEVER experienced this level of friendly, courteous customer service that John provided. Please let him know that we truly appreciate his efforts to accommodate us. read more

Worked and stayed in Barstow last week and I needed to make reservations for the coming week. My business has an account with Comfort Suites. I was in a hurry looking up the front desk number on my phone with crappy coverage and I mistakenly called Country Inn and Suites, both are off the same exit. Made the reservation and told them I'd be getting there very late. Pulled into Comfort Inn at 1:30 am and of course they don't have my reservation. Night Manager says no problem, sets me up and then offers to call Country Inn and explain the mistake. Long story short, Country Inn insisted on charging me for the room and were really snotty about it. Comfort Suites were so understanding that they offered to comp my stay. This place was really really good. Me and my boyfriend meet in Barstow because he lives in la and me in Vegas. This was the first time staying in this particular hotel. The room was large, with a lounge area and entire hotel was brightly lit and clean. Our critiques were minor - the pool was shaded for most of the pool-going hours and it was a tad pricey at $129/night. read more

Probably the nicest Comfort Suites I've ever stayed. It's got to be new. The room was clean and service was friendly. There were several tour buses in the parking lot when we left on checkout day - so this must be a stop over for school trips or the like. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you need a respite from the road. The rooms are comfy, clean - and priced very well. The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing. We stayed here over the weekend, had no complaints, and were pleasantly surprised at what a great stay it was! The breakfast in the morning was a huge spread of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, a waffle maker, coffee, (you get the picture), and it was FREE! My husband and I have paid around $15-20 a piece in other hotels for smaller breakfasts. To top it off, they had a staff member periodically checking the food and the patrons. This is the first and only time we've tipped a staff member who really didn't serve us anything because she was that sweet. I grew up in Barstow and this hotel really is as good as it gets. This is a great hotel to stay! Clean,spacious and very affordable. It is right off freeway too. The room we rented had a jacuzzi hot tub! (Only $10 more) oh man after a long day on road a hot bath a comfortable bed ... I slept like a baby ! We stayed a 2 other hotels in Orange, CA and one was twice the price and was horrible. The gym at this hotel is great too. It is what a gum should be ... Laid out well and New top quality equipment and big too. Been staying here for work off and on for 7 years. Rooms have always been consistently clean. The free breakfast items in the morning is adequate, dry cereals, oatmeal, small pastries, waffles, eggs, potatoes bacon, yogurts coffee etc. they also serve a buffet type dinner twice a week, usually tacos or chili verde or something similar, it includes 2 domestic beers or wine if your choice! This is my favorite hotel in the area. It is about a year old and is very clean (this is a smke free property and there are zero smoking rooms) and us staffed by friendly, helpful people. Even though it is close to the freeway and next to a truck stop, it is very quiet as well as safe and extremely comfortable. Every room is spacious and modern and each comes with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, safe, sink (outside the bathroom as well as inside), desk, couchbed, iron and ironing board, wireless and wired internet, and a large flatscreen with HBO and other basic cable channels. There are rooms with a large Jacuzzi tub available as well as larger rooms with an additional seperate bedroom with another TV. The rooms have modern decor and the bedroom and couch area are seperated by a half wall, which doesn't really offer any privacy but seems like it would be good enough if you had kids sleeping on the couch bed. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of extra pillows an blankets and a pillowtop matress. The bedding and room has always been very clean. The hotel has laundry room, outdoor pool and spa, a 24 hour fitness room (with treadmill, elliptical, and weight machines), and a spacious lobby with computers available. There are fresh baked cookies in the evening as well as A 24 hour coffee bar with three types of coffee and flavored creamer. Free breakfast is available daily from 5-9:30 M-F and 6-10 on weekends and includes a variety of cold and hot cereal, waffles, eggs, potatos, meat, pastries, toast, bagels, a variety of fresh fruit, juice, and milk. Plenty of safe parking that can fit vehicles of all sizes. God only knows why you would want to stay in Baratow but if you must, I strongly reccomended this hotel! read more

We stayed here on our way to Big Bear. Mostly OK, the usual stuff in a motel. Two things. First the bed is almost next to the AC unit with very little room to move about. Second, the motel is right next to a truck weighing station so the parking lot reeks of diesel fumes 24/7. GAAK! Crib requested and was set up in the room upon arrival - wonderful! However, that is where I stop with the accolades. I couldn't believe the room's wonky attributes when I walked in. The room was billed as a 2 bedroom suite, yet there is only 1 private bedroom. The other queen bed is just set behind a half-wall from the living area. In addition, one had to walk sideways to pass through the entryway to the living area. Someone thought it was a good idea to angle the couch against a cabinet to make LESS room to maneuver in the room. When this room is billed as being acceptable for 6 people, they must have meant 6 tiny, tiny people! We actually did need the sofabed for my daughter, but when the sofabed was open, there was no room to move around it to get to the bathroom. Yeah, the bathroom was nowhere near the bedroom and in the middle of the night, I didn't want anyone to trip and break their neck trying to use the loo. So, we opted to not use the sofabed and said daughter was not amused about having to sleep on the couch. The A/C was adjustable in each area, which was appreciated, but the bedroom's 68 degrees was much warmer than the living area's 68 degrees. The smaller room was warmer - odd. The bathroom was large - with both a tub/shower combo AND a separate jacuzzi tub. Who puts a functioning window in the bathroom looking towards the living area? Yep - this too was odd. I don't know what need there was for a frosted window there - but I don't design hotel rooms, what do I know? The breakfast was fine - plenty of the usual suspects. Would we stay here again - I don't think it would be our first choice, but I wouldn't avoid it either. read more

Gayle checked us in and we had told her that we had just came from the Baymont Inn and my family and had just had a bad experience. She listened and was very sympathetic and super sweet! She reassured us that the beds were actually indeed queen beds! After our rough experience it was nice to have someone to comfort us and made us feel better and at home! She even asked why we were visiting Barstow and we told her that it was my husband's bday and we had gone to Calico. Stayed here again for New Years. Am very pleased with staff, proximity to I-15, outlet mall, fuel stations restraunts, ample parking,pricing and accommodations. Planned to stay one night, but extended our stay under same terms with no bs. The room is spacious, as is the bathroom. I spent a few extra dollars for the whirlpool spa and it is worth every penny. After wandering all over Calico Ghost town and the outlet malls, my back needed therapy. This place is designed for people to relax and rehabilitate. This rating is specifically for the horrible customer service I received this evening from the front desk girl named Marissa. Utterly shocked that she was also the manager on staff. I have stayed here on multiple occasions and I am always usually happy with the customer service, accommodations, and breakfast they offer. However this was my first encounter with Marissa. Initially she wasn't noticeable rude but as the conversation proceeded she became increasingly unpleasant. She said the room would have two queen beds and that there would be an extra charge to upgrade to a king bed ($20). At first I said it was okay but after thinking about the situation I thought to myself I have never got a room with two queen beds and the other workers never even mentioned it before. When I brought it to her attention that I have stayed here multiple times and never stayed in that type of room before she said that is all she could do. I asked her if she could just upgrade the room to a king bed since I am a frequent customer and she said she couldn't because she would make more money on the room. Okay, I understand, I get it, the hotel is a business after all. But it's a Sunday evening and there are no more than ten cars in the parking lot. When I asked to speak to the manager she said in a very rude way that she was the manager. No apology, no trying to accommodate the guests. Pretty terrible customer service, especially coming from a manager. read more

This was by far the best experience at a hotel. The staff is very helpful. Our room was 2 queen beds and very clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was great with the usual bread products but did not expect fresh chorizo and eggs with flour tortillas. Real sausage and bacon that was freshly cooked. My husband, dog and I just made the 3,000 mile drive from Seattle to Nashville. One of the most difficult parts of the trip was finding clean, dog-friendly hotels. We hit the jackpot at Comfort Suites in Barstow! I could tell we were going to arrive a bit earlier than originally intended and called the front desk to see if we could check in early. I was welcomed to come to the hotel as soon as we were in town. Upon arrival, the general manager presented me with a note made out to our dog, Biscuit, and a little bucket of treats! I could not believe it! Our room was bigger than anticipated and spotless. Breakfast was open in the lobby at 6 a.m., a perfect bonus as we headed to our next destination. Jack at the front desk is really on point with getting you into your room and not having you stand around while he chases paperwork. Really a nice guy too. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Lots of outlets and separate usb ports for charging is a huge plus. Rooms need a little updating (chipped paint mostly) and there really no privacy curtains (just sheer ones) but other than that-no complaints. Staff was very friendly and helpful. What a Great Find! It was approaching sundown and we didn't want to make the 2.5 hour trip to Mohave AZ in the dark of night so we happened into this Comfort Suites and WOWZA! It was way better than I expected. Kyle greeted us, answered my questions and explained that Comfort Suites is a "luxury" step up from Comfort Inn & Suites! That was good to know! Room was clean, spacious and quiet. Also there were several food choices nearby. And a decent complimentary breakfast. For $98 (AAA/AARP) it was a deal!
