    Broken elevator

I stayed at Comfort Suites Oceanside on 11/10/2025, booked a double queen accessible suite (roll in shower), as my traveling companion is wheelchair bound. I booked it around 3 weeks earlier. When we checked in, the concierge explains that the elevator is broken. This is a problem as my friend cannot get up the stairs. The only available room on the ground floor is a single king bed, non-accessible room. Exhausted from traveling, we accept the downgrade as the concierge said we'd be reimbursed for the difference and also reieve 20% off (he called his GM to confirm). However, I asked again at checkout and the new concierge said we'd have to go through Priceline. Makes sense. But when I called Priceline, who called the hotel, they lied and claimed that we got the accessible suite! I don't understand why they didn't reach out to me beforehand about the elevator. I am very unhappy with the whole situation. Also, the shower faucet was almost impossible to turn - and I couldn't get it closed all the way. Shower curtain was all torn up, and the tv had remote issues. Breakfast was great though, the one lady who ran the breakfast did a great job.

XL room. A little dated but clean.

Nothing really special about this place. It's long past due for a interior upgrade. I've stayed here before, the rooms are comfortable but dated. I was upgraded to an XL suite. I had a separate office/living room which had a old couch on one side and a desk on the other. The room was large enough to accommodate a coffee table a chair or two and an additional TV. There was also a jacuzzi that I didn't have a chance of try. I've stayed at all the Choice brand hotels in this town, unfortunately, this ones the best.

I think I seen a bed bug in one of the rooms. It was a small bug walking on the wall and when I got closer it disappeared in an instant.

Nothing was mentioned at check in. Nothing was in our room. I would've expected less if they didn't text us ahead and ask about it. Hotel room was fine. I used Suite Upgrade Award to get a suite. One knob in shower was broke. The cooler is just a cooler and not a refrigerator, wish it was one. Valet was very slow on the weekend. We waited at least 30 mins. Make sure you plan ahead. Also when we arrived, they didn't have the luggage cart ready either. We waited for a cart and also waited a while for luggage to arrive our room. Overall a very underwhelming experience. Will stay at Mission Pacific next time.

We were worried because we were checking in on a Thursday which is Sunset Market but even with that the parking wasn't an issue. The check in process was a little odd because you aren't really sure how to get to your room until you figure out where the elevator is but once you get the door code down and know where to go it's super easy. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked that it had the attached coffee shop and the Oceanside location of Stone. Even the plants were a great addition to make everything come together. A couple things that I thought were a bit weird in the room specifically was the distance between the faucet and the sink were pretty close and the parking is about 2 blocks away, but its not a bad walk AND its specific to your room number which is really nice. I kind of wish the tv swivel towards the bed. Communication between the hotel was great. They assign rooms to you ahead of time and they text you when it's ready. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. 10/10

The staff is very kind and diligent, it made a good impression. I had a room with two queen beds (spacious) with a nice view of the pool area. The room and bathroom isn't the newest in aesthetic, but it got the job done. The main pain points for me was the room lighting (one side was significantly dimmer than the other with all lights on) and the bed blankets (it was oddly arranged and extremely uncomfortable). In short, I didn't have the best sleep. Parking is $7 - this was something I truly thought could have been free, as there were plenty of spaces available. When we requested late checkout, it was initially denied and we were told housekeeping had 130 rooms to turnover so late checkout wasn't an option. He then asked how much time I needed and we said 1pm and that's when he said oh that's fine. The pool area and jacuzzi didn't look well kept. The food at the café was pretty good. We ordered French toast (10/10), breakfast burrito (a bit dry 7/10), breakfast bowl (8/10), yogurt, bagel, coffee cake. Prices were higher than expected but the credit helped.

Having access to both Mission Pacific and The Seabird across the street made the experience feel even more expansive and luxurious. The property itself is gorgeous and the aesthetic is immaculate. However, the service during our stay fell significantly short of what a property of this caliber should deliver. I traveled with a 4-month-old infant and requested a pack & play multiple times over three weeks and it wasn't in my room upon arrival despite repeated confirmations. The front desk was consistently unreachable by phone throughout our stay, which made accessing the resort fee amenities we paid for nearly impossible. I genuinely believe this may have been a staffing issue specific to our visit rather than a reflection of the property's standard. I would absolutely return, the location and property alone make it worth it. I just hope the service matches the beauty of the space next time.

The location is simply breathtaking. The ocean views, the energy of Oceanside, and the overall atmosphere of the property make it feel like a destination in itself. In fact, I left Mission Pacific to stay at another hotel nearby because I wanted to explore a different property, and I regretted it almost immediately. Nothing compared to Mission Pacific. A special thank you to Eric (I hope I'm remembering his name correctly), who checked me in. He went above and beyond, taking the time to explain how to navigate the Coaster train to my next destination and offering thoughtful recommendations for the area. It was such a small gesture, but it made a huge difference and set the tone for the entire stay. If I could do it over again, I would have stayed here for my entire trip. Mission Pacific exceeded my expectations in every way, and I can't wait to come back.

Pros: 1.located between 78 and 76 freeways and easy to get to most shopping areas. 2. Employee named, Victor, was very kind to bring to our room fresh sheets and extra towels when we requested He was friendly and courteous. 3. Generally speaking, front desk staff was kind. 4. Change was always available for the laundry. 5. Amenities: Pool and Jacuzzi. Fire pit, BBQ grill. Gym, laundry room. Tiny mini mart with alcohol and junk food for last minute grabs. 6. Continental breakfast everyday. As vegans, we enjoyed cereal (varies), oats (cooked in water) with a variety of toppings (brown sugar, nuts, coconut flakes, raisins, etc), potatoes, bagels, fresh fruit (usually bananas), orange juice, and coffee. Oat milk was available upon request (we knew to ask for it because the lady who checked us in said it was available). 7. Rooms had a kitchenette which included: electric mini stove with 2 burners (no oven), full size fridge, microwave, stove, single cup coffee pot, full size dishwasher. Also included pans, colander, mugs, cups, wine glasses, utensils, knives, cutting board, wine/bottle opener, bowls, plates, large cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Cons: 1. Although I've always been excited for salsa nights,, the Junkyard Restaurant in the same shopping center was pretty rowdy on a Tuesday night and you could totally hear and feel the music, even over our sound machines. 2. The sofa bed sheets had not been changed since their last guest.l when we checked in. 3. I always had to request extra towels from the lobby because when we chose to have our room serviced, they took all the towels and did not replace the same number of towels. 4. The pans were scratched up badly. No way it's safe to cook in those pans unless you're wanting to eat Teflon and other leaching chemicals. 5. When I had questions about the waffles containing dairy or egg, the tall white man replied rudely. If I recall correctly he said, "of course it does, why wouldn't it.?!" His tone and manner of speaking took me by surprise since he appeared to be management. Another employee had said it was vegan but because I know better being vegan, I needed to confirm. My husband also asked him if they had a particular cereal my daughter had the previous day and he was also rude to my husband. This was on 2 separate days so it's fair to say this guy has a bad attitude and no empathy for others. This probably irked me the most out of my hotel experience. 6. Another guest before us stuck the wrong detergent in the washer and caused the foam to bubble out of the machine on our load. 7. No vegan options other than alcohol in the mini mart in the hotel. It would have been nice to have a few things without dairy, 8. Table was only big enough for 2. We had our kids eat at the desk. 9. Carpet is dirty- as in your feet and socks are black/brown after walking on the carpet. 10. Only no add Netflix accounts can take advantage of signing in to the Netflix account on the smart TV. Overall, I would probably stay here if I had to, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.

There's free parking here which is great compared to the other Marriott properties. There's breakfast from 6-9am. It's not the huge spread but it was what you would imagine with this level of hotel. The elevators are quick, so the highest floor is 4 and isn't annoying to get to. There's a basketball court and pretty nice size pool and jacuzzi if you are feeling recreational. The business center is there for free printing if needed. The rooms are a nice size and of course there's flatware and plates and pans for cooking if you need it. The only current knock that I have is the ac didn't get below 68. This is pretty common in San Diego hotels that the ac doesn't function properly. If you like to sleep at 66 degrees don't expect the ac to be able to get the room temp down that low. I'm sure once it gets worse then they will replace their system. Great job guys.
