What a cozy little place located right in the village of Hamburg. My husband and I stopped in for breakfast recently. (There is plenty of parking in the village lot if you cannot find street parking. There is also an entrance in the back which is very convenient for parking in the lot) My husband ordered a coffee and I ordered a matcha tea latte and a bagel. The woman working offered to enroll us in the loyalty program. It was quick and effortless to be enrolled. I was glad I took her up on the offer. The inside is like a little general store selling a variety of goods. I enjoyed browsing before settling at a table. We chose a table next to the window in the front of the shop. It was so quaint. It was rainy and it honestly reminded me of a scene from a movie. I look forward to coming back here, maybe next time at lunch so that I can explore more of the menu. Who knew that the Village of Hamburg was so darn cute and had so many restaurants? Well... I do now, and and it's going to be a new destination for me. "The Comfort Zone Cafe" is simply adorable! It's homey and clean and bright inside and the service is warm and friendly. It's an order at the counter and then have your food brought to your table kind of place. There's a "regular" menu of all kinds of sandwiches and salads... plus a specials board. Sandwiches come with a choice of a cup of soup or a salad (fruit salad, pasta salad, or green salad). Nice! I chose a medium tuna panini with a cup of the vegetable tortellini soup. The soup was DELICIOUS and that cup was jam-packed with lots and lots of veggies and pasta pockets. My only complaint was that it could have been hotter. My "medium" panini was anything but medium. It was HUGE! I wonder how large the large one is.... It was perfectly grilled, and deliciously filled with yummy tuna salad, lettuce, and tomatoes. Such a great lunch! read more

I haven't actually been inside the restaurant, but I just tasted their burgers at the Hamburg Burger Fest and fell in love with the Chiavetta's Chicken Dinner Burger. The vinegary goodness and chicken and everything else was amazing. Comfort Zone is truly a gem. I love visiting local shops whenever I can, and the cute interior is only matched by the expansive drink and food menu. The food has never disappointed, and neither has any of their drinks. I usually go with their vanilla frozen chai and rotate between some of their sandwiches and their baked goods. The lemon poppyseed muffin is a favorite of mine, perfectly moist and not too overpowering with the lemon flavor or poppyseeds! It's a little on the pricey side, but I'd rather spend $10 here than $10 at Starbucks! One of the best coffee shops in Hamburg! read more

Comfort Zone could be so much better! Have been there 3 times in the last year and had the same experiences. Friendly girls take our order, we go sit down and girl delivers our food to our table. Never to return to see if everything was alright or if there is anything more that we need. They are all behind the counter chatting to each other. Bad customer service we wanted a refill of water we had to go to the counter and ask. Then WE bus our own table???? The owers should know that getting out behind your counter and talking to your customers is the best thing to do to get repeat customers. read more

I love the food here. Staff are almost always cheery and friendly. However recently, after the dinner hour rush I walked in to get something to go. While I was clearly reading the menu board, the girl working the counter came and glumly said 'can I get for you?' I smiled and sed just a minute then told her my order. She was rude when I asked what the choices for sides were, and also when I asked what salad dressings they had ... tapped her finger on printed salad dressings list on the counter since I was looking for up on the board where the rest of the menu was ........ so inconvenienced by my not knowing their menu like the back of my hand. then she would not honor a Yiftee gift card saying she had no idea what it was, had never seen it. Could not apparently go ask another employee Even tho I have used it there before. It was not what I expected from CZ cafe while on my way home from having visited my husband who is dying in hospice Will definitely exchange the yiftee card for another restaurant. read more

When I walked in, take into account this is my first time here, I thought it was a gift shop for babies or something. There were onsies and Mr. Rodgers books for sale. I thought that was a little strange in a panini cafe. Maybe that's why it's called 'Comfort Zone Cafe', it's children friendly. I ordered the "Veggie Delight" with roasted red pepper hummus as a substitution for cheese, to make it vegan. I also had a salad as my side and a pineapple Aloe drink. The woman that took my order was very sweet, but I can't say the same for the waitress. Unfortunately, I didn't read the side salad option on the menu, or wasn't reminded what came on it, because there was cheese. I had kindly asked my waitress if I could have another without it, but she wasn't too understanding or friendly. I did get my salad without cheese though. My vegan-made "Veggie Delight" was very pleasing. I did discover I do not like warm avocado. As a garnish, they put a piece of pastry, I wasn't sure if it was vegan so I didn't try it, and a slice of honeydew. Which, in my opinion was very cute, and a nice touch. Although it was vegan friendly, I don't think I'll be eating at Comfort Zone Cafe anytime soon. read more

I love this cozy,homey, tasty place! They have reasonably priced lunch options and delicious flavored coffees. It is a great place to sit and chat with friends, do homework, or just relax and gaze out the window onto main st. Only suggestion I would make is that sometimes the muffins taste quite stale and are crumbly, maybe making more fresh ones daily would help that, but still I love the place! read more

Meh, this place has morphed from a creative sandwich, salad, breakfast to dinner place into a so so restaurant serving rather boring food. When they first opened the food was wonderful. I remember the steak sandwiches and creative soups. Now it seems like the desire to make special food is gone. Sandwiches are okay with a minimum of ingredients. I had dinner here over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with a friend I wanted to "catch up" with and this was the perfect place to do that. It's a quiet, little homey place in the village of Hamburg that serves breakfast and soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch and dinner. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Your food is then delivered to your table. After that, no one bothers you. This could be good or bad, depending on the level of service you were expecting. We ate and talked for over two hours. I had a tasty vegetable chicken soup and eggplant roll-ups. Both were good but not great and very reasonably priced. They also had some nice-looking desserts in addition to many gluten-free items. I have a severe gluten allergy. They were extremely kind with my allergy and showed me the menu for allergies. I got an absolutely amazing cheese panini, and a fudge cake to go, all completely gluten free. The staff are excellent, and kind beyond belief. Any questions about dishes are answered with a smile. Although it's clustered within a bunch of other shops, parking is quite easy. The cafe itself has a nice and warm atmosphere and you feel at home while you're there. I dropped in here based on strong reviews from TripAdvisor and a healthy menu. The green smoothie and tropical fruit salad were absolutely delicious, as well as the salad dressing. However, the summer salad was a true disappointment. The lettuce was wilted and browned around the edges, there were maybe 10 black beans and 10 kernels of corn, and a strange "this has gone bad" smell. I had to force myself to finish just half, not wanting to throw away food / money. My bill was $16 and I know I could have gotten a better lunch elsewhere. Really wanted to like the place since it was so cute and family-oriented. I won't be going back for food but will definitely indulge in the smoothies again. read more

We stopped here because they have organic coffee and the place across didn't when we called. The coffee was good and we also got a chai latte, which was so delicious we came back for another one. Unfortunately we decided to get a brie and raspberry panini with it, which was downright awful. Way to sweet, the bread was dry, thin, and just unpleasant tasting (I usually loves brie sandwiches). My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a couple years now. We love their food and drinks and the staff is always extremely friendly! Can't say enough good things about this place. We are from out of town and stopped in for a quick breakfast. The food was great! We each had a breakfast sandwich. I had The Spartacus and my husband had the Zippity Doo Da. Both are unique combinations of veggies and spreads on a fresh and crisp English muffin. They looked small but ended up being really filling. The staff was friendly too.
