This is a bit of a difficult review to write. Let me start from the top. The exterior and interior of this restaurant can't be beat. They have cottage theme and they NAIL it 100%. It's a beautiful property and a beautiful restaurant. The employees were consistently kind, friendly, warm and attentive. The food was genuinely spectacular and the pricing is incredible. I got the salmon sandwich and it was amazing. The bread was honestly the winner there. We also got the cream cheese pie with blueberries on top for dessert was so good it was genuinely upsetting. The food, the atmosphere, the employees--all of it was top notch for an incredible price. So, whats the problem here? Well, I would encourage you to google the ownership of this restaurant chain. As neutrally as possible, the restaurant is owned by a religious group and is staffed by members of that group. Coming here is inherently financially supporting this group and I believe every consumer needs to decide for themselves how they'd like to spend their dollars. I wasn't aware of this connection until after we were seated, a situation where trying to leave was a bit more culturally embarrassing--especially when you're with work colleagues! If this is somewhere you'd like to eat (and it would be a great choice if you did), please look into the ownership and make the decision for yourself if this is something you'd want to support. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised! The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to try their signature beverages, Yerba Mate which I personally liked all of them! Their vegetable soup is like what your mom used to make and their steamed sandwiches are unusual sounding, but the Reuben I had was very good! Firstly, it is impressively clean inside this establishment. Like, extraordinarily clean. The floors, the fixtures, everywhere you'd expect to see dust or evidence of cooking/eating, there is none. The building, outside and inside, is absolutely beautiful. We were asked if we'd been in before (we had not,) and we were offered samples of each of their signature cold drinks. Each one was delicious, it was hard to choose, but we decided on the hibiscus deli cooler and iced dandy blend. The sandwiches are made on fresh, store baked bread, and served warm. My daughter and I were out shopping and noticed this beautiful little restaurant in Hamburg so we went in for lunch. The decor is lovely with a country cottage, rustic charm. We were greeted right away and seated. My daughter ordered a salad and I tried the veggie burger which is one of my favorite things to eat. What a sweet surprise walking up the stairs to this beautiful restaurant in Hamburg. We were met by a veteran staff and given a brief history of the yellow deli. We sampled some teas and a turkey stew. The food was very well prepared and delicious and even though we didn't have room for dessert, there was quite a selection. I found The Yellow Deli in Hamburg, NY on Christmas Day 2024 and I'm here again on Christmas Day 2025. My wife had died three months earlier and after visiting her grave at the cemetery in Hamburg I was looking for a coffee shop to relax around noon. The only place open was The Yellow Deli at 327 Buffalo Street and the second I walked in I knew I was in the right place. Being a deeply spiritual person I was intrigued by this line on the cover of their menu, "We serve the fruit of the Spirit. Why not ask?" So I did and I was beyond overwhelmed by the people who operate this amazing restaurant at cafe and by their Christian beliefs. I love their story and what they stand for. The Fresh Green Mate was to die for and it was so good I purchased a brick and use it nearly day. The Bristol Fillet with the wild Alaskan Sslmon was the best as were their soups, which I have every time I visit. It's a great restaurant, kitchen staff is superb and the people are top quality. I grew up in Southern California and went to the Yellow Deli in my hometown very frequently in my college years. And to my surprise, they opened this new location recently, and I was ecstatic! Wonderful team, very friendly, all staff was greeting me as they passed by. My waitress did a wonderful job, even let me sit at their trademark chair on the bar! Food was marvelous, reminded me of the same great taste from my younger years! Deli Rose is a great taste of great meats and fresh vegis on homemade bread and fresh chips. And their chili hit the spot on a cold winter day! Absolutely would be coming back more often! If you haven't seen this place before, highly recommend it! The veggie burger is hands-down the best I've ever had, and it's usually my go-to unless the soup of the day wins me over (which happens often). Stumbled into this charming little place yesterday, Monday March 31, 2025. We loved it! What I found was a beautiful, well built structure, with an elevator for my Mom, who loved it. What I learned was that the Yellow Deli is in some of the coolest places throughout the world. All who work there are owners. Most of the food served is either raised, farmed or owned by this amazing Christian Group led Church. It is amazing and will always visit no matter where I am in the World. We tried their incredible iced teas, I got the Lemon Mint tea. I split a Reuben sandwich with a cup of chili. It made for a delicious lunch. Others in the group got a roast beef sandwich and the corporation and cheese soup which they loved. You will love this place and their menu. read more

The restaurant has been beautifully remodeled with consummate attention to detail. Hand hewn posts and beams with wood furniture and hand-painted touches on the staircases envelops you in fine craftsmanship. The staff is so welcoming, never rushed. They make you feel like you're their only customer. Our sandwiches were very tasty; made with the freshest ingredients. Our drinks were unique combinations of teas, herbs and flavors. I felt like I was in a fairly tale land...something you would find in Disney World. The food was delicious. The soup and freshy baked warm soft bread were terrific. I passed by this very inviting restaurant when I was recently in Hamburg. I made a point of stopping in on my next visit to Hamburg. As I said the building is clean, inviting and charming. I placed a to go order, asked for the sandwich condiments on the side. Unfortunately, when I got home and was ready to eat the sandwich, no condiments. So, I ended up with a turkey sandwich on a plain roll, very disappointing. The roll was fresh, and the turkey and cheese were good, but I did not get the whole "sandwich experience". I was curious about the company, and I looked into their back story as I noticed a few things while there that seemed off to me. Well, I was quite surprised to find out their affiliations with certain groups. I will not go into detail here, but I recommend you look into this restaurant back story when you can. After reading their history I decided I will not return. Maybe people will find me harsh, however I have a right to spend my money where I chose. read more
