Tucked in the back of a large parking lot, this place is large and welcoming. With a brown wooden front and similar decor inside, it feels very much rustic and home-baked feel which is perfect for this type of bakery. They have a large open kitchen area behind the clear display area making it feel very open and inviting. We got there just before closing so there wasn't much left, but they did have what we were looking for: a cinnamon roll. I've been a huge cinnamon roll and scone kick as we've been traveling the Eastern part of the country, and this place advertises sourdough cinnamon rolls, so of course I had to try it. The bread and other pastries (what was left at least) looked amazing and apparently were pretty popular as they were basically sold out, but I honestly couldn't tell a difference between their cinnamon roll and a non-sourdough cinnamon roll. The flavor was very good and they use vanilla icing instead of cream cheese, which is a requirement since I think cream cheese icing is sheer blasphemy, lol.

Just have to update my review because I've been coming here every week for the last 8 months straight - only missing 2 weeks due to being out of town for vacation. The owner Scott is so nice and accommodating and I really look forward to seeing him and his staff every week. They are constantly trying new pastries and loaf flavors which I really enjoy. You really can't go wrong with any of the products here because they're all so delicious and made with love. A real highlight though that most people miss out on is their iced coffee. It's the strongest in town because they use ice cubes made out of coffee so it never gets watered down and always packs a punch. Another favorite is the pizza at only $2.50 a slice. The pinwheels are always delicious, as are the croissants. My favorite sourdough low flavors are the white chip pistachio, three cheese Italian, and the roasted garlic parm.

We went here on recommendation of a friend and it didn't disappoint. Ordered a sandwich to share with my sister. Also ordered some baked goods including a croissant. Everything was good, especially the environment. We sat upstairs which is so cozy and sweet. I ordered a London fog, they brought out a blueberry London fog, but I had asked for a plain one and they quickly replaced it with the proper order. Definitely a place to check out and return to! Get there early if you want the loaf of bread you were hoping for!

Have been a few more times since my last review, everything has been amazing. Sat upstairs this time and had a breakfast sandwich. Will definitely be back.

I love this place so much. The ambiance, the food and the drinks, the DELICIOUS pastry's, omg... I dream of this place. And the workers are always so sweet! Love it so much.

Saw that this new bakery opened in the Village of Hamburg and the owner used to work at our favorite place in Buffalo prior to opening here, so we had to go and check it out!! Besides the bakery, they also serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches. There is a dining area on the second floor, but we'll have to do that next time. They were very busy, but it felt very welcoming in there. The staff was very helpful and the pastries look fabulous! I would highly recommend the pistachio croissant and the three cheese bread. Can't wait to go back to try more!

There's a reason this place has 5 stars; definitely the best croissants I've had. How can you go wrong with a stuffed croissant?! I had the pistachio and my husband had blueberry and we agreed these were the best we've had in our travels around the country. We wished we had gotten more. We also got the lattes and they were delicious. Definitely want to try the breads next time too.

The croissants are the best I've ever had and having one as the base for an egg and cheese sandwich made it exceptional. Great service!

Asked to replace the soft serve on the peanut butter sundae with hard ice cream and it was a measly 50 cents! I've been going here ever since I was a child. I went to school with the Charlap children. It was started by the Charlap family with their dairy farm with fresh milk that would be delivered by truck and glass bottles delivery back in the day, and they made their own ice cream which they served at their location in Boston, which has been the same but has expanded in size over the years to match the production needs. My friends used to deliver milk for this dairy in a truck like the good old days! When our baseball teams won in the town, we would go here for ice cream. They have soft serve and hard ice cream and sundaes and shakes and floats. Anything that an old ice cream shop would have- they even have ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes for sale these days which looked insanely good. There's probably 40 to 50 different flavors of ice cream. They are all made in house and incredible. There is a second location that opened in the village of Hamburg by the owner son, Nick, and it is a much smaller space. Charlaps is open in the winter with limited hours, it is very slow that time of year. However,, In the summer, there is barely parking. There's seating indoors and outdoors. I have watched this place evolved as I have spent most of my life in this town growing up and now visiting my family, who still lives in our Homestead. To me, this is some of the best fresh cream, milk, and ice cream on the planet! And you will never change my mind. Patronize this business it's incredible.

However, liquid nitrogen canisters were nowhere to be found as all of their stuff came out of boxes. I thought the entire draw of using molecular gastronomy was to flair involved in making the food, not necessarily the end product. And because of that and the weather, their ice cream was put at a big disadvantage. Yet they still managed to win the rookie-of-the-year award at the competition. At least one of the workers there let me get 2 items worth 10 tickets for 9 b/c that's all I had left. I had the "Have your cake and eat it too" (aka cake batter ice cream) and a "Nitro Pop". I was intrigued when visiting the Galleria to quickly pay some bills. Located on the second floor right outside of Macy's, it's worth to stop even just to watch and to be amazed. Three employees where quickly moving around the little shop amist a gathering of people just as curious as I was. The large tanks of nitrogen were spouting the gas and the ice cream creators were quickly stirring the concoction as the ohhs and ahhs were being heard. You could either get a flavor of nitro cream and add your own toppings or there is also a list of sundae-like menu options. Flavors like vanilla, chocolate, mint, strawberry, cake batter, pitschao, and coffee were options. The saying of Go big or go home flashed in my mind. So I ended up going with Nitro Mike's Fav which was cake batter ice cream with cookie dough, peanut butter mixed it. The ice cream was very creamy and yet seemed a little less heavy than a typical Perry's offering. The price ended up being just over $6 with tax. They apparently also catering at special events like weddings and birthdays which is a pretty cool idea. The employee who made my order also mentioned that more franchises are coming. But right now they are only at the Walden Galleria mall. As much of a haven of canadiens that the Galleria has become, I feel I'll bear it to have some more of their ice cream!

It's also fun to wander around eyeing all the candies and chocolates... excellent gift ideas. On this visit, my daughter and I split a large Arctic swirl with brownies pieces and swapped the vanilla custard for eggnog. Best decision I've made all season, no regrets! The only tiny downside: the signs. So. Many. Signs. Rules everywhere--no ice cream in the chocolate area, carry a basket so nothing melts or breaks, no glass outside, clean your trays, etc. I get it (I, too, am a bit of a control freak), but it does start to feel like ice cream comes with a user manual. That said, clearly they've been burned before... or maybe I just recognize my own people. Either way, worth it for the custard alone. And make sure you plan to go right home. This way, you can buy some of their hard ice cream to keep in your freezer.
