The staff here was very friendly and knowledgeable . My boyfriend was looking for some Final Fantasy Magic singles and they were able to help and price everything. They were also running a Magic event while helping us so they are very efficient. The prices were fair too! They have a space that has comics, board games, and other cool geek items from figures, plushies and more. Then they have another dedicated space for playing Magic with plenty of seating and tables as well as a section dedicated on card sleeves and singles. We're glad we stopped by and definitely check them out more often whenever we're in the area. They also have a pretty packed calendar so always something to do or check out. read more

Mtg singles sometimes have old stickers on them. Make sure to check market prices at the register! Also staff had no idea what a pull box was and said they didn't do them. Weird for a comic shop. Otherwise good selection of both magic cards and books. Just don't expect to save on shipping by buying here. read more

I just recently moved to the University Place area and found this nice shop while shopping at the grocery store nearby. I just went in to get some card sleeves and to see if they had any booster packs, but I was really surprised by how large the store was! They have a fantastic comic selection and have a nice section with loads of different inner and outer sleeves to pick from at good prices, not to mention and impressive card selection too. The person at the counter was really friendly and nice to chat with so I will be visitng again to play some games and pick up cards. read more

First time going into their store in a while and in the new location. Layout of the place is clean and nice on the eyes. Good selections of magic the gathering and cool singles that I see laid out. The service of the dude providing me questions for things like singles, packs, boxes were fast responses. At the time I got a good deal on packs and the prices for the singles were on the money. I will be gladly coming back to grab more things from Comiks The Gathering again! read more

We used to drive to Tacoma to get our comic fix but since we stumbled across this fine establishment we are extremely happy. The hours are decent . The staff are warm and welcoming and the owner is awesome and very helpful . The only down side is that they are located on the edge of the homeless camps territory but worth it . Just lock your car . We advise all our friends to go here. read more

Great little comic shop that I discovered in the Spanaway area. I don't venture down to this part of town much and so last weekend I decided to scout a few things out. The staff here is incredibly friendly and eager to assist which is great. I have been to more than a few comic shops across the country where some folks just prefer to stay behind the counter and read and have an aloofness to them. Not the situation here at all. This shop has a great selection of graphic novels and of course new comic issues and older back issues. They have a decent action figure section. Many of then from older toy lines and some of those looked to be on clearance. If anything I would like to see with this place is see more current action figure lines for sale here but maybe the market in this part of town isn't set up like that. I don't know. I was just treated absolutely horrible for no reason. I have frequented this store several times since their new location. I was so happy to finally have a local comic book shop. Today I was shopping for some books. I had about 4 or 5 comics and asked if I could set them on the counter. I planned on buying more books as well as getting my 9 year old something to drink and eat out of the machine. I have done this everytime I go. The guy behind the counter scoffed at me and said I guess. I asked if there was a problem and he said "I'm weird. You only have like 2 books and you are putting them down. That's weird." Completely embarrassing in front of the entire store. I have a couple reasons why I do this. Party because of my disability from the military. I complained to one of the owners and he just said " thanks for letting him know." I'm sure nothing will be done because the guy is obviously part owner. Everytime I've interacted with him he either ignored me all together or was completely rude. This time was just the worst. I absolutely will never be back and will encourage people to shop elsewhere. I was a good customer. eBay live has great deals on comics. If you ask for something specific they can get it. Most auctions start everything at $1 so you can get great deals! Instagram has great auctions as well. read more

This is the best comic shop in the Pacific Northwest to get a subscription box in my opinion. I could have started a box anywhere, in fact I shopped around from Seattle to Olympia trying to find the best deal. No one could beat Comiks the Gathering. If you start a box they give you a discount on any comics you put in your box. And on top of it, they bag and board everything I put in my box. No one else offers that kind of service. I used to buy my comics in Federal Way, but they were never bagged and boarded. On top of the cost of having to do that myself, I used to spend way too much time just bagging and boarding all my comics myself. Now I don't have to. Plus, if you are not able to come in and pick up your comics in person, they will mail the comics in your box to you periodically so the box doesn't get backed up. Who does that? You can put comics in the box and take them out at will and you don't have to buy everything in the box at once. It's like having your comics on DVR and you can just come in and buy them whenever you want and no one ever gives me a hard time about it. They have a decent selection of new issues for a small comics shop, but if you have a box you can literally get any comic no matter how obscure. Just let them know what you want and they will find it and throw it in your box for you even if it means they have to hunt for back issues or reprints. It's much closer to my house. I don't have to drive over an hour to get my comics anymore. The owner is great and he has the coolest dog who hangs out in the shop. They are military friendly. They put on a lot of community events. They have a good graphic novel selection and decent selection of back issues, toys, board games, cards, etc... and a nice little lego table for the kids to play with so I can shop instead of babysit. Most importantly they know how to treat their customers. If you are looking for a place to call your comics home base, make this it. I won't shop anywhere else now. read more

I checked out Comiks the Gathering shortly after they opened. The staff is friendly and the shop is a work in progress. They had quite a few newer back issues to look through and a few long boxes as well. I liked their action figure selection and I'm looking forward to seeing their board game inventory grow. I didn't buy anything because they were out of the back issues I needed, but I'll definitely come back and see them in a few weeks to see how things are going. Overall, nice shop with nice folks. They also have a shop dog. Who doesn't love that? read more

I wanted to like this place more, but for some reason I didn't feel very welcome there. They only buy comics on certain days of the week which seems odd for a shop with comics in the title. So I had to plan around their schedule to find out that they didn't want to offer me anything for them, even though one of them was one I had bought there the prior week. I can understand being chatty with your regulars, but when the transaction concluded more than 5 minutes ago while I'm standing and waiting for service so the clerk can have a personal conversation, that doesn't feel like good business. The selection and prices were good, but I take my business elsewhere so I can enjoy my hobby. They also only carry resealable bags, and seemed befuddled that anyone would want regular current bags. Every other comic shop carries them, but this one wants to impose their preferences on customers. All in all I made 3 trips here of which 2 were fruitless. Live and learn. read more

My favorite comic shop out of them all really good selection on newer titles. There's a bunch of long boxes with filler issues and some 1$ and 25 cent bins also. It's hard to go into this shop and not come out with something. Also if there's a new series you want to get into subscribe to ensure that your going to get a copy. If you haven't been to this comic shop your wrong get down there support a local business and any place that's supportive of military gets my vote. 5 stars easy only because yelp wont let me give them anymore read more

Very small comics shop. They get most mainstream comics and offer a subscription box. They have a few cards and Funko pops. It's not a place you can hang out and browse. Clean. Friendly staff. Just not much to look at. read more
