And when I share that I'm browsing, it becomes a simple "Just let us know if you need anything." Which I always appreciate. Beyond that, the volume, variety, types of items, and organization blows me away. They have it all here -- ended up with a book for me , a book for my kiddo, and some mystery gift for me (from my wife). I will be keeping an eye on the dice for whenever one catches my eye. The one negative is the impact to my bank account -- not because of it is expensive (everything is VERY fairly priced) but because of how much cool stuff there is and how welcoming it feels there. I didn't know what to expect but was super surprised by how much cool stuff the store had! I was looking for a gameboy game but ended up finding about 10 things I wanted to buy on my next visit. They had tons of old toys that I used to have or have been wanting to get from pretty niche series like Monsieur Bome, Masamune Shirow figures, and even my old favorite army vehicles from Mega Force. The owner was playing Pokemon on the big screen when I walked in but was super helpful and friendly. I am definitely a fan of this place and will stop by any chance I can get when I'm down in the area.

I'm a little disappointed with myself that I was not aware of this shop in all this time I've resided in Tacoma. They have a neat interesting variety of toys and video games. This review is going to focus on my interaction with Alex and Alex from a seller's standpoint. I have a fair amount of collectibles and there were a couple action figures I was looking to (reluctantly) unload (a 1983 Inspector Gadget doll and a NECA Ada Wong to be exact). I had looked online and consulted various other stores in the area and the few offers I had received were far from fair. I'm happy to report that Alex and Andy knew the market and what my items were going for online. We even looked them up together. We had some obligatory endearing haggling and in the end they offered me a fair price for my beloved items. They were the only store that I had spoken with in the local area that were not only fair in their evaluation but even in the same league as the market value. They even appreciated the items as much as I did so I knew they would end up in a good home. Again, I only wished I knew about them sooner. This of course led my husband and I through a sea of nostalgia and the kids watching endless "card pull" videos. This was our first time at Metro, and my 6 year old son was lead by destiny to find the coveted "God pack" or golden Charizard (his words, not mine). While the kids "ohhh'd and ahhh'd" over the cards and played their hand at the claw machines - I asked the guy working for the info on the different packs. He was so patient and sweet to my 5 year old daughter who was a tad too energetic and excited, and the boys who acted as if we were looking at the answer to world peace through a glass case. He was full of knowledge, answered questions about uncommon Pokemon, and let my son pick out which of the Pokemon boxes he felt was "lucky". In a time where my kid has to compete with adults to even get the chance for a Pokemon machine to release a few items... always leaving empty handed because they emptied it out as he stood behind them in line... you made my kids day. Especially in these days with card shortages everywhere, these guys have pulled through. They were still working on their online shop when I went in, but that's ok! My first time walking in I was greeted by the sports card workers, and they politely showed me the side for Pokémon. Amazing!! Boxes and boxes of stocked up ETB's, promo boxes, and tins. It was just like being a kid again! The places was bustling on a Saturday evening, and there were many kids in the shop buying things as well. After a sale, I couldn't help but notice the sales attendant threw in some extra cards in for free! As well as for me once I told them it was my first time coming in! After some recommendations for a new collector, I walked out with a Celebrations ETB (Very hard to find for a decent price nowadays!) and a couple free card storage boxes as well. I inherited a collection of about…read more30,000 cards a few years back and although it sounds impressive, I'd say out of the 30,000 cards, only about 3,000 have value and the average value is about $2, so nobody is quitting their day job. In Seattle, we got a place called DJ's, and those guys are great, friendly, helpful and an impressive selection of anything you would want or need related to the trading card hobby. Never having been here before I read the reviews and people talked about rude and cold behavior, but the overall score of 3.5 was enough for me to pop in. The card selection here was really small, had this been the first card store I ever visited, I doubt I would have visited another. That said, I was the only person in the section and a couple people looked at me, even walked by me multiple times, but no one ever spoke, welcomed me in or offered to explain the layout. After browsing for about 10 minutes, I found some interesting cards in a consignment area My experience with consignment is it's items owned by a private seller, but sold by the business for a commission. When I asked about prices since nothing was marked, I was told the items are for auction and I needed to register to bid. 1) The guy had an attitude when I asked for help despite him doing nothing but twiddling him thumbs. 2) Is it consignment or auction. 3) You are killing your business, those items are not moving, which means they are taking up real estate. Your goal with any item, especially used is to sell it as fast as possible. Can you imagine cars sitting on a car lot for 30 days, then selling to the highest bid. You may have been able to sell that car In a couple days instead of clogging your lot for a month. In addition, I asked some other questions and people working there were clueless. I'm sorry, if you work in a card shop or card counter, you need to be an expert. If I ask if you have a specific team or player, you shouldn't have to ask anyone else. Even if you are unsure, you should at a minimum be able to say, check this area, but then again, from what I saw, the store had no organization. I think 3.5 stars is generous, I have no reason to return here. The cards are probably about 25% maybe even 20% of the store, so they have other hobby items, but if you are headed here from sport related memorabilia, I'd say keep driving.
