Was passing by Spearfish and decided to try a local joint. I yelp and Common Grounds pops up with good reviews. As I walk in first thing that got my attention was the smell of roasted coffee. I decided to order a smoked salmon sandwich with a blueberry smoothie as I filled up some bags of their local coffee beans. Overall my travel buds and I loved our orders. Very good sandwiches, fun atmosphere, good menu and excellent customer service. Very friendly people and very good sandwiches. read more

Just meh. Watered down Americano. Ordering felt like we took the young woman away from chatting with here friends, not even a greeting, just walked up to the counter and looked at us, waiting for us to tell her our order. This is the BEST place. They're so nice here with a cozy, friendly vibe. The breakfast sandwiches are super delicious. Husband loved the Morning Cristo one, and my croissant was delightful. Coffee is fresh and perfectly brewed. And they have lovely pastries too. We bought some sandwiches to go for our lunch on the road, and we can't wait to try them! We've been here 3 times now on roadtrips and I don't know why you'd go anywhere else. read more

Great service! This place has enough space inside and out to join coworkers, teammates or friends to enjoy drinks and small bites. It also has a nice gift shop. I got a Frappuccino which was pretty good. They made it the way I like with oat milk and tons of caramel only at the bottom. This place is right off the Main Street in downtown Spearfish. Next time I come I want to try the caramel apple cinnamon roll which looked really good. read more

Good solid coffee probably the easiest to drink in Spearfish. Not that heavy dark over saturated Starbucks type coffee. This is drinkable smooth mellow roast. Good choice of food and probably the nicest people in town. read more

I am so impressed by this little coffee shop! It is so cute and has an extensive coffee and food menu. This seems like a great place to study or relax! What I ordered: I went here twice and got a cappuccino the first time and drip coffee the second time. Both were great! We stopped in Spearfish on our way from Devils Tower to Rapid City. We were hoping for a good sandwich. Yelp to the rescue! Common Grounds had a great rating so we decided to go there. First of all Spearfish is a very cute city. So I'm glad we stopped here. We highly recommend Common Grounds. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Such a cute place which has an amazing vibe! While there my husband had their black coffee/flavor of the day and loved it. I ordered a cappuccino one day and the next I ordered their chia tea latte. I could really taste the chia in it but was still very good! For food both times we went there we got a Carmel roll along with avocado toast. The Carmel rolls were very delicious and big! We asked for them to heat it up and my goodness it just melted in your mouth! The avocado toast was really good. Overall our 2 breakfast experiences were really good! My friend and I had their Southwestern Burrito and their Breakfast Sandwich (on cinnamon-raisin). We also ordered their pumpkin latte with an extra shot of espresso and a hot chocolate. I met up with friends for the first time today at this wonderful little coffee shop and was just blown away! It's right downtown and easy to find. Parking can be a little hectic during peak hours but we just parked the next block down and thaat wasn't a problem. Plus, it was soooo worth it! It's very cozy inside and there were tons of items too buy, like homemade hats, pictures that were hanging on the wall, mugs, etc. Great place to get unique gifts! Plenty of variety on the menu for food, coffee and blended drinks, but because I'm such a huge fish and seafood person as soon as I saw salmon on the menu I had to try it. I ordered the salmon wrap they has smoked in it. And when I say this was the best smoked salmon I've had in my life I'm not kidding! It was absolutely delicious! With the first bite I could tell how fresh it was. I'm not what type of wrap it was in but it was equally as delicious. I also ordered a Mochaccino, which was very tasty. The whole vibe here is warm, relaxed and friendly and the la that work here were super friendly. This coffee shop deserves 10 stars and I can't wait to go back! read more

I had the Turkey Bacon Swiss sandwich and it was very good! I tend to enjoy any sandwich I eat so I can't really compare it to any place else. I guess I just basically enjoyed it a lot. It was Memorial Day, so there were limited options, but we were lucky these guys were open. From the outside, you don't get the cool coffee cafe, sandwich place vibe. Somehow, it feels like it would be an Italian restaurant. Inside, it's casual, warm and welcoming. Plenty of seating options, and it's kid friendly, as well. Free wifi. For drinks, they offer coffees, teas, and smoothies. For food, they have sandwiches, wraps, soups, and some baked goods. We had a turkey cobb sandwich and a 1/2 pastrami sandwich & potato soup. The coffee is good, the food is ok, I love the atmosphere, the wifi is weak. The customer service is generally lacking. I've been here many times and when it comes to my smile being reciprocated, it usually isn't unless the younger staff is working. The people that I go there to meet are why I usually show up. This location generally has great subs, but the last year or so their workers quit giving the…read morestandard subway portions and would only put on light everything, today I went for lunch while I was at work despite this because of the proximity to my job. I walked in fully expecting to be disappointed and unhappy with my sandwich but Dana knows her job and gave proper portions, was extremely polite, when I asked to add tomatoes to my sub she let me know that they are currently not in their best time of the year for the good ones and confirmed multiple times that I was sure I still wanted them on the sub. Thank you Dana, this is the best sub I've had from any subway in over a year. Keep up the great work.
