If you are looking for a hidden gem serving some of the best fried seafood in the Pensacola area,…read morelook no further than Shannon's Seafood Kitchen. It is everything you want from a classic Florida seafood dive. The restaurant sits in a spot you could probably drive past a hundred times and never give a second thought. It is tucked away enough that if you did not know it was there you might miss it completely. But once you stop in, you will be glad you did. The atmosphere is modest, casual, and clean. It feels like one of those small family owned meat and three restaurants you find all over the South. The only difference is this one specializes in seafood. The service is as sweet as the iced tea and the conversations with the staff flow just as easily. Everyone was friendly and welcoming in that genuine small town way. The food was outstanding. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The seafood was fried perfectly and seasoned just right. The fish was flaky and hot straight out of the fryer, and the fried shrimp were crisp and flavorful. Even the sides were great and tasted homemade. You can tell right away that the owners and staff genuinely care about what they do. Their pride in the food and the restaurant really shows in the quality of everything they serve. If you ever find yourself craving a big piece of fried fish or a basket of shrimp, Shannon and her crew will absolutely deliver. Tip: Do not let the outside fool you. This is exactly the kind of local seafood spot that ends up becoming a regular stop once you discover it. Well done.

The menu literally says "8 or so jumbo shrimp," so hopefully you get the "or so" like I did. The shrimp were excellent; perfectly fried and the dredge they use is well seasoned. The fries were hot and seasoned, and the coleslaw was cold, creamy, and delicious. The homemade hush puppies were so good I ate my 2 and the 2 T didn't want. The ladies working were very friendly and attentive, bringing out cocktail sauce and some spicy mayo that was really good. If you're in the area looking for a good place to eat, stopping here is a solid play.

However, one employee single-handedly ruined the reputation of this establishment for me. My mother and I have frequented this place for about a year now. They've always had phenomenal customer service and food. However, yesterday when we pulled up to the drive-thru, we were immediately assaulted by the strongest weed scent that we have ever smelled off of one singular person before. In layman terms, the drive-thru worker stank. Badly. When my mother points out how overwhelming the aroma of weed is, instead of being apologetic, the drive-thru worker immediately gets defensive (as all junkies in denial do) and proceeds to call my mom and I quote a "f*ckin idiot". The worker also claimed that she had cancer and was using the herb for medicinal reasons. As paying customers, we have every right to a refund and yet this woman initially denied me one, claiming that they "didn't do" refunds. To make matters worse, she took my card to the back of the restaurant instead of returning it to me, which I did not appreciate at all, as I have no way of knowing whether she took a quick snapshot or not. Magically, she could suddenly do refunds when I threatened to call police. She also mentioned that she would make up some fabrication to the police and accuse us of trespassing when, in actuality, we were simply trying to order. As far as the cancer claim, due to her willingness to lie about not being able to give me a refund and about us "trespassing", I am not fully convinced that this woman is not just another pothead lying to justify her addiction. Will not be returning here.

We ordered the whipped feta, oysters, ceviche, scallops, bison kebab, and lobster roll -- every single dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. The whipped feta was creamy and addictive, the seafood was incredibly fresh, and the bison kebab and lobster roll were standout favorites. Reserving a table was super easy, and the drinks were fantastic -- creative, well-balanced, and perfectly complemented the meal. The vibe is great, and the service was excellent. If you're looking for elevated, flavorful food in Pensacola, Pearl & Horn is a must. We'll definitely be returning soon! Highly recommend.

Although this is definitely a preferable location given its adjacency to downtown Pensacola. The drinks were outstanding. Everyone raved about the scallops. I will definitely be re-ordering the crab avocado salad. It was off the charts. The mushrooms and brussels sprouts were amazing. and the Australian ribeye was delicious. My husband felt it was the best steak he's had. I had some fatty pieces so i wasn't as enthused but the good pieces I had were absolutely delicious melt in your mouth. Obviously, we had a dessert for my birthday and that was a sweet treat! peanut butter chocolate dessert. Maybe a torte? I thoroughly enjoyed it and just overall had a great evening here. The booth was so comfortable and the restaurant is appointed to a degree you don't frequently find in this part of the country. It was very tastefully done. We'll for sure be back and look forward to trying the pearl side next time!

What really sets Joe Patties apart is the quality. Nothing compares to the freshness of their fish and seafood. If you feel like you're paying a little more, just know that when you cook it properly at home, the quality more than justifies the price. One tip: if you're getting steamed shrimp, skip the pre-steamed option. Go to the counter, pick out the shrimp you want, and have them steam it fresh for you. Definitely grab one of their tubs of garlic butter and herbs and have them add half or the full amount depending on how much you're getting. I got the Argentine shrimp, about a pound and a half, and had them use half the butter. No one in my group expected it to be as good as it was. I set the plate down and it was gone in less than five minutes. I was lucky to even get three pieces for myself. We also purchased a whole grouper and had them fillet it for us. We seasoned it with their Everglades rub, and I have to admit it was probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life. The freshness makes all the difference. We grill often and have made grouper before, but it's usually been frozen, and it never comes out anywhere near this good.

We even talked to the manager, Nick, because we felt like Ricky deserved to be recognized. Ricky made the whole experience feel comfortable and genuine from the start. He was able to talk with my family in both Spanish and English, which honestly made everyone feel welcomed and included. He's very personable and easy to talk to, and you can tell he enjoys what he does. One thing we really appreciated was how attentive he was without being overbearing. He checked on us at all the right times, made sure everything was good, and never made us feel rushed or interrupted while we were enjoying our meal. He's also really knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations whenever we had questions. We've had Ricky as our server before, and he's honestly one of the reasons we keep coming back. Once we were seated, our server Rick was right there. He is pretty funny so ask for Rick on the weekends. He gave us some great ideas and we went with what he suggested. We had the Grits A Ya Ya and the Catfish Meuniere. The grits were probably some of the best we have had. They were creamy, smooth and cheesy all at the same time. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and made that dish rock. The catfish had a pecan crust and the sauce that was over it made it an amazing dish. For dessert, we had an amazing bread pudding and key lime pie. The only this about the desserts that need correcting is the green sauce on the key lime pie. It doesn't do anything for the pie . The manager Dean came over and apologized for the delay in getting our meals and we really appreciated that. He was really nice and made up for our delay in dinner. We will definitely be back and the views help make the dining experience even better.
