I was really shocked at the flavor. Lattes are on point and I enjoyed my chorizo omelette although I'll probably try the veggie omelette next time. We really enjoy Polonza. Good vibe inside with exposed brick. It can get busy and a little loud but sitting on the sidewalk is pleasant too. We had excellent service recently. I was in town for a few days and decided to sit at the bar for a bite. The bartenders Bea and Morgan were great! They explained everything well and offered great conversation. The mimosa flight was delicious and basically had a full bottle of champagne. The breakfast burger was also quite tasty. Will have to make sure I go again when I come back! read more

Came to eat outside and was shown a table by the hostess.They are supposed to be a pet friendly restaurant but when i asked the hostess for water for my pet,she never returned. No one came to take our order after 20 min. The waitress came to check on the couple directly behind us 3x because they had mold in their fruit bowl. I ordered the scrambled eggs, bacon (well-done!), home fries, and toast. I accidentally received a biscuit instead of toast, but the food was so good that it didn't even matter. My food came out within five minutes of me ordering, my water was never empty, and the tables were spaced out far enough that I didn't feel like I was on top of anyone else. A pleasantly cozy brunch spot, good for smaller groups. We visited on Mother's Day and the efficiency of our server Thomas was admirable. My "Toad in the Hole" (fried egg on sourdough with arugula) might've been messy to eat, but it was very savory and my partner loved his sunrise burger- commenting on the quality of the croissant. The fries were FRESH. Thomas had an eagle eye on our water cup levels, we were impressed he noticed with how many guests he was attending to. The noise level is something to be wary of if dining with hearing-aid wearing loved ones; I overheard a couple saying it was very hard to hear with all the bustling. A week day might be better. The warmly lit restroom was surprisingly clean even with the rush. Sitting near the entrance on a busy day can be overwhelming as guests are constantly in line to wait, peering down at you finishing your latte. I would also recommend asking for a honey or lavender flavor if you order the latte, I found it quite plain. Had the green tomato/turkey/bacon sandwich, which was very good. The winner was the tomato basil soup. My friend had the sirloin sandwich, which she said was good but the meat was not very tender. I'm in the fence about a rating. While the food was decent, it was not great. The problem was the service. When we arrived, there were only 3 other occupied tables. Yet we had to call the server over when we were ready to order. Once food arrived, the server disappeared (literally! She left the building!). We had to flag down another server to get drink refills. I've been going to Polanza for over a couple years. I really enjoy the food here and the menu is not too large so decision making is not over complicated. I can honestly say that I've yet to have a bad meal. They also do a very good brunch on Sundays if you can get into the building. It can get crowded. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and are honest about what they do or don't recommend based on your ask. The only drawback is that, although well decorated and quaint, the place is on the small end. I would also say that more attention can be paid to the restrooms at times as well. I want to start off by saying that the food here and vibes were incredible. Initially I was pretty frustrated with the wait time. The restaurant was packed and the wait time was super long. We were told it would just be a "couple minutes" before we could be seated, but 45 minutes went by before we were able to actually be seated. My fiance and I walked around for 45 minutes waiting to called about the table, and then we decided to go back to the restaurant to see if it was ready and it was. Had we known it was a 45 min wait, we probably would have gone somewhere else. I was disappointed with our server, she seemed pretty miserable that day. I was always try to be kind to staff because I know the job is physically taxing, but she wouldn't even look me in the eye. It definitely bothered me being in a predominantly white area with a white server who I felt like wouldn't give me the time of day. I was already feeling self conscious being there. The food was great, but the service left me disappointed. I came in around 11 AM with my two young kids and asked to sit at a high-top table in the corner to be out of the way. The hostess just said, "No, sorry," with no explanation. If I had been told the table was reserved or unavailable for a specific reason, I would've completely understood. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I get that certain tables are sometimes held for specific purposes. But the lack of communication made the interaction feel dismissive. Our server was fine and polite but not particularly welcoming. The food was solid, but i'd rather dine somewhere I feel acknowledged and appreciated, especially when dining with kids. read more

Our first morning in Pensacola, we decided to take a walk downtown and happen to come across this bistro. Bistro is definitely my first choice for brunch. It was a Thursday morning so the place was pretty empty. We decided to sit at the bar which did have plenty of open seating. I did appreciate that they had a specials menu and I ordered the chocolate pistachio coffee. it was pretty good and I was lucky enough to order the last one. My girlfriend and I decided to share the croissant breakfast sandwich with a side of cheesy grits. We both weren't happy with our croissant because it seen that it was cooked in a pan of grease. There was no way either one of us was able to pick up this greasy croissant. That meal was eaten with a fork and a knife. The cheesy grits were delicious and always happy when they're not made too watery, but just the right consistency. We did plan to come back here and try a different menu since there was so many other options that we were probably better off trying, but we never ended up making it back. Overall the service and atmosphere was amazing and I do highly recommend coming here since it did get pretty busy over the weekend. Been here a few times for brunch. Haven't ventured too much off the menu as Toad in the Hole is my favorite because it's full of flavors! A bit too much arugula this time but otherwise delicious as usual. Also not pictured is their Bloody Mary with pickled okra! The only cons of the place is that there may be a long wait on the weekends and no rez option for brunches. Also, you may be waiting long for the food to come out. Since it was just me, the hostess directed me to the bar. The bar's service was impeccable. They were extremely attentive & recommended I try the iced latte instead of iced coffee. They're unable to add flavor to their iced coffee so it's extremely strong. The iced caramel latte was so so, not bad but not fantastic. I'd recommend trying another flavor. For an appetizer, I ordered bruschetta. It was phenomenal. One of the best I've ever tasted. Had amazing flavor & tasted fresh. For the entree, I had steak and eggs. I like my steak medium rare & it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes had a little kick to it but super delicious. The eggs were seasoned very well. I was not a fan of the biscuit, it was too dry. Overall, the only issue I really had was they forget my silverware & butter for the biscuit. Besides that, I enjoyed the atmosphere & the kind staff.
