This place had good reviews for food and customer service, and we love to visit smaller local restaurants. The food? Was pretty good! The egg portions of our foods were cooked beautifully, and the food itself did not take long to get to our table once ordered. The lost of stars was service. The lady took our drink order and saod she would be right back to take our order. We gor our orders togather quickly for her... but she basically never came back. I watched her seat, serve drinks, take orders and serve food for the table diagonally behind us. She had time to go cut up lemons for prep, sit another party and get them drinks. At this point i just stared long enough where I could read lips from the other waitress asking if she wanted her to come take our order. I cannot say there was any pleasantries (my husband desribed as kind of rude). We have been to several restaurants in this area and have been treated with such pleasantries and chit chats about the area.. servixe prompt andexcellent... but here... not so much. There is nothing that would send me this way again unfortunately, even id the eggs were well done.

Seafood Platter. Fish, hushpuppies & house made tarter were very good! :)'

This is a very very old school diner. A complete brekkie/lunch only dive joint. They only serve till 2pm. We ordered some lunch to go & they packed our hot fried foods with the wet foods. It basically ruined everything. Which was sad because the Fried fish, hushpuppies & house made tarter was very good. Also Hubby's burger was way way over cooked into a hockey puck. All the ketchup in the universe couldn't save that burger. Anyhoo, The coleslaw, Fried fish & hushpuppies were fantastic. So would like to try the fish platter next & ask for any wet sides to be packaged separately. Great place for Cheap Eats. Will Return to Update.

Really enjoyed this old school joint! It has a charm about it, enhanced by quite a collection of customer (???) portraits adorning the walls. Breakfast was very good. Biscuits and sausage grave were tasty (though a little light on the sausage); the scrambled eggs and hash browns perfectly done. My wife got pancakes which meant I got a taste. Pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly, and the clientele appeared to be mostly regulars. Definitely worth the stop for morning chow, Cheers! RS

I had their breakfast sampler plate and it was really good. The prices are fair compared to other places. The service was friendly. I would describe the ambiance like a Waffle House but with a home-like feel to it.

This is a good local's spot. If you go on the weekend, prepare to wait, it is small, crowded but nice. We waited 30 minutes just to place our order and then almost 30 minutes for the food, but they do not make you feel rushed once you have your food. Food is good for the price. Spouse had the Napoleon with a Puff pastry, not exactly what he was expecting but tasted good. I had the crab cakes Benedict and it was really good even though the Bernese saice was broken. I swapped out the English muffin for a Southern biscuit. Couldn't help myself, being born in the South and all. Sweet tea was a little weak for me, I like mine to steep for like and hour or two so it grows hair on one's chest and keeps one awake for at least 36 hours.

We arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday morning and we were wrong to think that the place would be empty after an early breakfast rush. We were seating upon entering by Brooke who also was our server. The menu is varied and we found out that you can order anything at anytime. We had ordered the Spicy Pulled Pork omelette and Shrimp and Grits. Next time, we're thinking a Grouper sandwich as they were being enjoyed at two tables next to us and looked delicious. Our breakfast entrees arrived quickly. The omelette came with a choice of side and I chose the potatoes. They were seasoned but a bit cold and hard. Brooke offered to swap them out when checking on us, but by that time, I was filling up from the large packed omelette. It was filled with pork, peppers, onions and cheese with more spicy, sweet pork on top. I wish the entrees came with toast. The shrimp and grits were served over gouda grits as requested and the dish was spicy and filling. Definitely one of the best we tried in a while. Drinks were refilled promptly and Brooke took care of her guests quickly and with a smile.

I didn't care for the flavor in the shrimp batter and the fries were heavy coated with pepper. I generally like pepper, but it was a bit much. The grilled pork chop wasn't bad. She introduced herself and told us a little about the restaurant and what they specialize in. She told us about the specials and took our drink order. We ordered the savory bread pudding Benedict and the Bonita's lobster roll both came with hand cut Parmesan truffle fries. Let's start with the bread pudding. Wow, isn't your ordinary bread pudding. If you don't like bread pudding, you will love this one! It starts with a special type bread they make and thick cut bacon is baked all through it. Then it's topped with a poached egg with a special hollandaise sauce. Every bite was full of flavor and I hate I ate it so fast. The lobster roll was so tender and buttery. The roll was fresh a little toasty just enough for a little crunch when you bite. The fries, I never had hand cut fries that taste so good. The fresh Parmesan cheese and truffle oil took them over the top. They really take time to pay attention to detail. If you haven't eaten here yet, you must put this one high on your list. I'm looking forward to my next review!!!!

Husband at that point just had to ask the food runner for more coffee, our waitress was MIA. Then our meals finally arrived. The pork belly was ok, felt like it was precooked the day before, no pretty caramelization just cooked and tossed in. The plantains were super soft and well fried. The avocado better be on point, as it was. Husband had the lomo saltado, which was wildly under seasoned. It felt dumbed down and not authentic. Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. Our total was $178.00 before tip, which is well worth it. The attire ranges anywhere from dressy to beach casual, they have several great seating options for special occasions, and there's even a gift shop with some great finds. For anyone who remembers, this used to be the Boy on a Dolphin years ago. As an honorary Pensacolian since 1975, I consider myself a bit of an expert on all things Pensacola Beach--and you won't be disappointed here! Pro tip: Get a group photo by the bay before leaving.
