Charcuterie board (catered for my wedding)
    Rachel B.

    1. I have dined here for a regular dinner: 07/23/22 2. We used the upstairs space for my wedding rehearsal dinner: 09/23/22 3. We had The Sumner House cater my wedding: 09/24/22 Let me tell you that Ryan is GREAT & so is his staff. I got engaged in May of 2021 & started my search for a caterer. The venue I chose suggested using The Sumner House. Immediately, Ryan replied to my inquiry & so began the hundreds of emails & phone calls to quote the wedding catering & rehearsal dinner. Their menu & options are MORE than fair. I had received other quotes that were triple, if not quadruple what his quote was for up to 100 wedding guests. The food is AMAZING. I highly suggest the steak tips. The mashed potatoes are buttery & awesome. They offer fresh seasonal vegetables. You also get your choice of (2) desserts with the entrees. The apple crisp & assorted cookies were a big hit after dinner & through the night as the wedding & dancing went on. We had the prime rib, stuffed pork & chicken lasagna for the rehearsal dinner. OHHH MY GOODNESSSS it was ALL SO GREAT! Their cheesecake & chocolate ganache cake for desserts are incredible. My father loved the chocolate ganache cake so much that he had 2 pieces & had to refrain from a 3rd. The bar gets very busy with the locals, especially on Friday & Saturday nights. In the summer they do offer outdoor seating. The building is near or about 200 years old, I believe.

Ample parking. Quick service. Stopped here on our way home and although it was 5 minutes off our way, it was worth it. We ate well. It's an old house but really well maintained. It felt like we were in someone's house. Everything was clean. Victoria took great care of us. Thank you!

Great place to have dinner after all day skiing. Delicious food, friendly people, thematic interior with opportunity to learn about local history.

Great, cute place. Nice menu. Friendly staff.. takes credit cards. Site is kind of historic with the placemats explaining the history of the Justice who founded this restaurant. Great job! Thanks!

My wife is a big burger fan (FYI: she raved about her burger, too), so I decided to try the place out, since we were in the area. Bit hard to locate, but parking was fine. Since the weather was good, we ate outside. There is both open air & tent-covered seating options. Speaking of seating - you must memorize your table # BEFORE going inside to order as meals are delivered to your table. I ordered the "Big Daddy M": 6oz beef, medium-cooked, with Bayley Hazen blue cheese, caramelized onions, bacon bits, garlic aioli, bibb lettuce and red onions. What a heavenly, savory combination. Each bite was full of flavor. And the French Fries? Well, super tasty as well - I ate every potato fried crumb. At other places, fries are usually bland, but not here. The order service inside was pleasant and quick; be sure to note the chalk board with a list of food options (e.g. my Wife ordered a custom burger, just the way she wanted). After ordering we went back outside to our #'d table - wait for the food was relatively quick. When done eating, just leave your baskets, etc. on the table (there is a sign stating this practice). Note: while I did not have kids here, there were plenty of families with young kids & toddlers. I definitely want to try this place a 2nd time.

I ended up getting the side salad which was also really delicious - baby lettuce with cucumbers, pumpkin seeds, cranberries with a vinaigrette dressing. I ordered the veggie burger with a gluten-free bun, and the bun was toasted perfectly. The waitress also proactively mentioned that while the fries are not made with gluten ingredients, they are cross contaminated, which I really appreciated. Because of that, I switched to a side salad with balsamic dressing instead. All the salad dressings are all gluten free, and there were several other gluten-free options on the menu. For dessert, I got a gluten-free and vegan carrot cake slice. The atmosphere inside was cozy and had a brewery-like, outdoorsy feel. Overall, it was a really comfortable and stress free dining experience, especially as someone who is gluten-free and vegetarian.

I've had a couple burgers that didn't quite hit for me, but overall they're very solid. The cowboy burger with candied jalapeños is a standout and my recommendation. And very importantly, they actually cook the burger how you order it! The wait can get long, so come prepared. They do have an online waitlist, which helped a lot on my last visit. Service can be a little slow, but friendly. And the vibes are relaxed and perfect for unwinding after a hike.

Our group ordered a bunch of burgers and took heed of some reviewers' warnings-- the burgers are kinda small so you'll want a double or a whole other burger if you're hungry! For me, they were just the right size to satisfy! I got the sLAMBer burger which was SO GOOD, such an amazing mix of flavors that I couldn't stop gushing about how good it was! I heard similar sounds of approval from friends enjoying their burgers (the jam one was really popular in our group). Fries weren't spectacular but when you want fries, a GOOD fry is all you need. Now the honey pie! 3 of us ordered a slice and I think everyone enjoyed it! It's a sweet baked good unlike anything I've really had before and the salt flakes on top help to cut the sweetness. It was a bit too sweet for me to eat on my own in one sitting but I still liked it! I wish they delivered but we didnt mind picking up the order since it was only 6 min away by car! I originally thought the prices were sorta expensive for burgers but honestly not that bad because what you get is so delicious. I'm super interested in trying their 16 oz matcha milkshake... next time!

We were back in the fryeburg area and decided to try their actual fast casual restaurant and got burgers. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. I got their signature wicked burger and the layering of veggies is SUPERB. Such a good amount of pickle slices! My partner was reminded of in and out burgers when eating his. I've always been a fan of Wicked Fresh Craft Burgers, but my recent experience with the Wicked Steak Salad was a major letdown. I specifically chose this dish for the blue cheese pairing, but it arrived with almost no cheese at all. * Missing Ingredients: I found maybe two tiny crumbles in the entire container. If it were just sold as a "Wicked Steak Salad" without the blue cheese in the name, it would be accurate--but I ordered it specifically for the combo. * Lack of Evidence: As you can see in the photo I've attached, there is zero sign of blue cheese throughout the greens or on the steak. * Poor Service Response: When I called to let them know, I was told the cheese "must have melted into the steak." Looking at the picture, the steak clearly isn't hot enough to have vaporized the cheese. I'm disappointed that instead of acknowledging a simple kitchen error, the staff treated me like I was seeing things. I hate leaving negative reviews for places I previously liked, but being treated like you're crazy when you're just trying to provide helpful feedback is not cool. I hope they take more accountability in the future.
