This is a fantastic place to go frequent at. I wish I knew about it sooner, since this cafe has been down the street from downtown for 10 years. When I got there, I got a table right away and was offered some beverages. The coffee was pretty great, tasting some notes of orange pekoe, yet it was still good coffee. I had the Westcoast Benedict and I really enjoyed it. The benedicts were delicious; the bacon was succulent; the hollandaise sauce was overwhelmingly luscious. Even the hashbrowns were great on their own. I also had their Mennonite Poutine, which is highly recommended by their waitresses. The Schamaunt Fat sauce is very unique in taste and the Rempel's sausage is so good that I would want to buy the meat myself. The inside of the place has a modern look to it and feels very welcoming, despite the unsightly location. Common Place is still a highly recommended place to eat for morning and afternoon meals. read more

Everything is delicious. I had a pacific skillet and for the first time since I could remember, I ate everything including all the toast.

This is the ideal place for a weekend morning breakfast with the boys. The service was extremely kind and attentive, all of the food was 10/10 at a good price, and the environment was clean and cozy. Will be coming back and making some friends along the way. read more

The cafe seemed to have high potential but in the end, with somewhat average service and average food, it was just ok dining for me (we came her for breakfast). The servers were a bit old school with a diner vibe. No trays were used when presenting drinks, so when we ordered coffee, the gal held four mugs in her hand and slammed the cups down, spilling coffee everywhere (didn't wipe it up). One person at our table would get water, while the others didn't, our order was forgotten, and I think the server's attention was somewhere else that morning (all good, it happens to all of us). Menu options for brunch were average and most dishes came with frozen potato bites that were reheated (or fried); french toast was cheap tasting and the atmosphere was a blank canvas. Price of food is not great, but not expensive. Lots of ample parking. read more

Was very excited was open for the weekend, weekday experience has always been amazing... but not this time , waitrsss weren't friendly , complained that up stairs made them work on weekend , was sitters at a table waited over 20 mins for menu or water finally we stop a waitress she went and checked and said oh your waitress who handles this area is on break , ...hello you know how many staff members walked by not one stopped was awful , we left , very very poor service and from people who clearly don't want to work there!!! read more

Had lunch here today and it was a great as usual! We ordered a blt on rye (which was amazing!) with a beautiful FRESH garden salad on the side. We had the clam chowder as well that had plenty of seafood to drool over! As a maritimer, this was a huge plus for me. ;) The service was wonderful and our server Diana was super sweet and prompt. She was quick with our food even though they were busy, we were seated right away and seen to immediately. The food didn't take long at all to come out and the view and natural light in the restaurant while your waiting makes for a really nice environment. We will absolutely be back as this is becoming one of our favourite go to spots in Abby. :) read more

Came here after apple picking at Willow View Farms. What an awesome find! Food made from scratch, even the kids' chicken tenders. Also had Pacific Skillet, so so good, crispy hash browns, crispy bacon, the right amount of hollandaise sauce. Even the buttered multi-grain bread was excellent and the kids gobbled that up too. And roast beef dip with borscht. Yum. Lots of parking too! Everyone left very satisfied. read more

We came here for the first time today for brunch and we were impressed. I ordered an omlette that came with a side of fried potatoes and sourdough toast (avocado is extra). The hubster had eggs benedict. The food was hot and tasted great. Service was good and the dining area was clean. We will definitely come here again for brunch. read more

The place is clean and well oriented. I had the Vegetarian Skillet. It comes with a side of either ( french toast, pancakes, or toast). The plate is stuffing and tasty. The pancakes weren't the best. The staff are great and friendly. I would come again to this place. read more

I'm just going to keep this short and sweet. I had the eggs with farmer sausage. It was all cooked well. The sausage was fantastic. I inquired about them making scratch hollandaise and they do not unfortunately. A lot.of places are going with pre-made pasteurized yuk! The room was pretty standard as well as prices..... $16.50 out the door including tip. The back of the house/kitchen area staff banter translates into the dining room, so you may hear a few conversations you may not want to hear, but then again you can always have a relationship with the Cooks as well as you can easily talk to them. Is it my go to breakfast place in Abbotsford?? No, but if I am in this neck of the woods I will certainly pop in if my tummy is grumbling...... 3.5 stars read more
