Parking - There's a ton of parking and it's free. The lot is all around the building. Before you even enter the building, you have your own door code (I guess each patient has one). I like this method. I wouldn't feel comfortable if someone random decided to come by. I think 2 patients share a room. I suppose it depends on how the patient is in regards to health. A simple curtain divides them. Every holiday that comes by, the patients get special lunches/dinners. But overall, my Gramps said he was fairly happy with the normal meals. He's actually doing a lot of better since he's been moved here. Schedule is very strict and nurses help him and coach him to work hard at getting better!

However, there was a significant staff turnover and I think that had a negative impact on the quality of care. My mom was a higher functioning memory care resident and really got lost in the shuffle because her needs were not as great as other residents. She spent most of her time in her room. When I suggested that they could perhaps do more engagement activities that would be suitable for people at her level, the senior management person I spoke with suggested that I consider hiring a caregiver so she could get more attention. I also agree that the food was pretty bad. I moved my mom to a much smaller place that is not as aesthetically pleasing, but where the staff has really gotten to know my mom. The food is better, the room is bigger, the price is cheaper, and most importantly, I don't worry about whether my mom is well cared for when I am out of town.

Ms. Larrier was very professional and her empathy towards her patients health issues was amazing. Yes!! I'm a 40+ woman who's body is in worst shape than some of these vibrant, full of life seniors I had to hop pass trying to find my way to the pool area. Yes! I said hop.... Geesh! go figure. Heck they where looking at me as though they wanted to ask if they could help me. Unfortunately today was just a medical visit. While hopping around (LOL!) I did noticed how elegant and huge the Sterlings Estate is. It has a very welcoming entrance with whom I believe maybe a concierge to help you with what your looking for or answer any questions you may have. Today was a nice gentleman standing in waiting. Again looking at me like..... he was waiting for me ask to be pointed in the direction of my grandmother or something. NOPE!!!! He was polite with telling me the way to my destination. The Sterlings has a grand dining area with plenty of seating. I noticed also they have what looked like a coffee area, wellness center and plenty more activities for the seniors in your life to enjoy. I'm here today to get the full benefits of their heated salt water pool. The Sterlings offer Aqua therapy for people who don't live on campus. My health insurance had them on the list of places to choose from. I chose The Sterling Estates, because I have driven pass about 4 times and thought to myself.... Those look like a nice community for my mom or great aunt to live. Not knowing I will be the one visiting before them. But a least I had the pleasure of seeing what little of the community I could see. And I can say it was a memorable one.

They absolutely need better top staff members. Never try to reach the "nurse". She is unavailable by phone. They seemed to be really on top of things prior to our actual move in. Not the case at this point. The actual facility certainly needs a face lift. There are no automatic doors to the interior garden and patio area. Thus, if you are in a wheelchair you are not going out without help. If you decide to dine in your room, your meal is brought to you in a styrofoam box at the end of the meal service in the dining room. So you are going to get your meal an hour later. Oh great, almost in time for you to go for the next meal. I will not go on. Most of the residents are happy there. But, let's be real. Change is hard enough who is going to move again?
