I live in Kansas City. I am spoiled when it comes to Bbq. I have tried practically every Bbq restaurant and joint in the city. I drive for miles to try the new restaurants and keep going back to the old favorites. While in Columbia I had to try Como Smoke and Fire. First of the service was great. The ambiance is rustic. The restaurant is clean. The table was sticky even though it was clean. I had the combination plate. With burnt ends, pulled pork, brisket, turkey, sausage, beans and fries. The fries were the only good thing on the plate. Everything was bland. No smoke flavor really. The burnt ends were chewy little cubes. The sauces were fair. This was a miss for Bbq. It gets a three simply because of the service. The Bbq was a two. This Bbq would not survive in KC.

We were looking for a place to stop and eat not too far off the hwy. We all love bbq so we decided to check it out. Very casual with fun colorful decor. My youngest was hangry and had a bad attitude so the waitress rushed over with some play dough and wax string art. She was so sweet. Everything we ordered was outstanding! The pulled pork was my favorite. Everyone left happy and very full.

What a disappointment, ordered the smoked fried pork tenderloin. Took two bites off the side, it was extremely over smoked. Then I went to take a bite and the center was frozen. Not cold, I mean ice. I let the waitress know and immediately chose another quick bbq item as you know those are sitting there ready to go. Waited another 15, got my food and there might have been two ounces of meat on the $19 plate. Waitress came back and brought me the bill and explained she took care of taking off the tenderloin but charged us full price. My partner also thought his meal was tasteless. Maybe a random event, but I wouldn't do it again. Food quality is poor.

Solid barbecue, great service. We finally tried this place after wanting to for months-years. We were seated right away, and the waitress was super friendly. Lots of options to choose from. Ambiance is a local BBQ joint, also attached to a gas station. - Smoked wings (4.5/5): We had heard these wings on first place in Columbia, and they were delicious. Soo much sauce which I love. Super juicy meat, huge wings. Ranch was yummy too. - Sampler (4/5): We wanted to try all the BBQ, and the sampler was perfect. We definitely wanted to try burnt ends, and the waitress recommended the pork over beef. Everything was so tasty. My favorite was the burnt ends! Texas toast was great, and fries were also delicious.

    Cute logo!

The interior is spacious with plenty of seating, and the two staff members on duty were friendly and quick with service. I ordered the 12-piece bone-in wing combo--half Nashville Hot dry rub, half Honey Hot--paired with Cajun fries and a drink. Since I don't drink soda, I opted for pineapple juice. As the only customer in the restaurant at the time, my order was ready in just 5-6 minutes, which was impressively fast. The food came out piping hot and freshly made. The Cajun fries were well-seasoned and delicious, and the wings were extra crispy with great flavor. While I would've preferred a bit more sauce or seasoning on the wings, the overall quality still stood out. This spot is definitely one I'll be returning to, and next time, I'll be sure to request extra sauce. A solid experience worth revisiting.

Now let's talk further, he sounded like he was either tired or high. It's later in the evening so the former is highly possible. I am hoping the wings are wonderful. Because one of the flavors we wanted from the menu no longer exists. Word to the wise, if you want Parm Peppercorn, you won't get it. You'll have to settle for garlic parmesan. Oh, and screamin' siracha is also out but on the menu. I'll later update this post based on the speed, accuracy, and taste of our order.

It's a little hidden away, but honestly, if you have your windows down, just follow the smell of smoked BBQ and you'll find it. As soon as I walked in, the smoky aroma hit me in the best way possible. It immediately made me want something off the smoker, even though I was only planning on a lighter lunch. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Grace, who was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring over a menu and get my drink started. Since it was my first visit and I wasn't overly hungry, I asked Grace what she recommended. She suggested the smoked wings, so I went with those. They came out pretty quickly, and before long I had a dozen golden-brown smoked wings in front of me. They were excellent. The wings had great smoky flavor, were cooked perfectly, and weren't dried out like smoked wings sometimes can be. The portion was generous, too. I only made it through six and saved the rest for dinner, which was a nice bonus. Overall, D. Rowe's made a great first impression. Good food, friendly service, and that amazing BBQ smell from the moment you walk in. I'll definitely be back.

The Menu is packed full of salivating descriptions. We will be back to try other items, despite my disappointment in the burger. My daughter loves the pulled pork sandwich on the gluten-free bun, and my wife enjoyed her chicken bacon club sandwich. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. I find if a restaurant can get a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings right they're worth a second go. I read in the description of this restaurant that they have generous portions, I order onion rings at five onion rings, that's not generous in my book. The onion rings were greasy and clearly fried in the same oil that fish is fried in. My wife and I had completely opposite experiences with the bun, she said hers was light and fresh. Mine was cold and stale. The burger tasted as if it was a hard pressed frozen patty that have been microwaved. I'm sure it wasn't microwaved. It just had that dense bland flavor in texture. The environment was definitely family friendly, and our server "Emma" was very sweet. She was not overbearing, nor was she absent. Like I said, we will be back, but I won't order the burger and onion rings ever again.
