service was absolutely terrible. the server was very rude, didn't give us the time of day, made faces about my husband asking for water when the salsa was so spicy he needed it. it was a whole different story when two men came in. she was friendly and upbeat to them. she couldn't give them good service fast enough. when my husband asked for water again she went off on him. I told her she could be a little nicer and that we were thinking of leaving. she told us to go ahead. since when do restaurants treat their customers this way. when Jo worked there we were always treated with respect and friendliness. in addition, their prices have gone way up including their lunch specials and they charge extra for more chips. since we were told to leave we didn't get to taste the food so we don't know if it's still good. we definitely won't be going back there. read more

I was visiting my mom from out of town and was craving Mexican food. My mom suggested compadres because it wasn't far from her house and there wasn't many options. I ordered over the phone and was told to call when I got there and they will bring it out. Our food was promptly brought out. Our food was nicely prepared and they even threw in chips, salsa guacamole and sour cream. The best chicken quesadillas ever. Fast, courteous and delicious. Have noticed this cute looking Mexican Restaurant several times when driving thru Historical Dayton. They are closed on Sunday & Monday BUT today Thursday we were in for a real treat. Excellent Mexican food. I had Taco Salad with shredded beef. Husband had a couple of beef tacos and a side of oh so fresh Guacamole. We had a wheelchair and were able to enter easily thru the back patio. A real must and fun drive from Reno. Delightful friendly servers who LOVED working there. How refreshing is that. read more

We have been here twice in the last month. I thought I had already done a Yelp review and was surprise I never did. A month ago, my review would have been a 4 star but this last time, it would have been a 2 so i averaged it out. I'll focus on this last visit. Service was pretty bad. We had a server take our drink order so we thought she was our server. Our water and tea was brought but my husband's margarita was forgotten. We didn't see that server again. We actually was wondering if we were forgotten. We stopped another server to ask see if someone could get my husband drink and she took care of it. She ended up becoming our new server. We ordered the fajitas and a carne asada burrito. About 20-25 minutes past and we got our fajitas first, which the fajitas were in a side dish. The meat was over cooked and not hot but the peppers and onions were good. We waited about 5 minutes to start eating because we were waiting for my husband's food ro be delivered. His burrito was good but very simple with no rice and beans (which he was aware of) but not worth the $14 or $15 price tag as it was falling apart from 1 end from the way it was wrapped. Our waters sat empty and so did the tea since we again did not see anyone for a while. I kept thinking what happened from the last time we visited and the food & service was worth a 4 star. We have supported the local Dayton businesses for a long while now and been very forgiving. But I must say, they all seem to not give a hoot. It is extremely hard to get them on the phone to place an order. Tonight I was on hold for 27 minutes. When she finally picked up the phone and I told her she had me on hold for that long.....nothing but can I help you. She never got the order complete. I finally sent my husband down to place our orders. Such bad service. Great food. A little pricey for this restaurant and their lack of service. I guess they know we have very few options. Compadres is one of Dayton's - and possibly Northern Nevada's best kept secrets. The restaurant is in an old house - and the dining room is a bit small, however, the food is outstanding and I've never had bad service here. Prices are also better than many of the places in Carson - especially if you come for taco night on Tuesday. read more

Did not get the right order. Theres a latina there that looks more latina than me but wont speak Spanish. She even has a slight accent for the love of god!. My point is I did not get what I asked for. Which was a Taco Salad. I NEVER asked for crispy tacos!!!!!!. Those two sound totally different. I would of been ok with it but this chick "waitress" insisted of acting and sounding like she was not latina. The environment is mostly of white folks. Guess she wanted to fit in and get that tip. But come on its a Mexican restaurant!!!!. I felt outof place and treated differently from that other race. Wtf? Don't mean to sound ignorant but ummm there eating our food.
