My sis took her healthy 7 month old dog in for a simple spay procedure due to a 60.00 coupon from the humane society. They said for an extra amount they would administer iv fluids to prevent dehydration so she agreed. When she picked her up she was bleeding profusely and so dehydrated that her lips were sticking to her gums. They told her she had 'bled all over' during surgery due to being in heat. My sis told them she had been out of heat for 2 months and she purposely waited until she was out of heat to have her spayed. They told her they can be in heat for 3 months ...not true. They then also charged her for 2 spays...bill now 220. Myah was crying in pain and bleeding so they took her in the back and wrapped gauze around her. My sis rushed her to an emergency real vet where it was discovered she was a close to needing a blood transfusion, lost 3 staples already and was severely dehydrated and NOT IN HEAT! The 60.00 bill turned into 500.00! UPDATE- 4 days after surgery most staples came out during the night....she has been in a crate resting....flaps of skin are hanging and she is bleeding....great job Companion...she is not back in E.R. they said companion did a terrible job on sewing and stapling her incision..now the bill will be 800.00 !!! I've been going there for a couple years and I can honestly say that 95% of my encounters with the front desk people have been unpleasant. They are very rude almost every time I go in there. Worst experience and clinic i have ever been to. we took our $5000 toy puddle 5 month old puppy there to get her shots and immediately after the shot she had a reaction the doctor kept giving her more shots to charge more money. the next day took her in and vet says she got parvo from the shot. they treated her for almost 5 days gave her more shots right the day she passed. without asking us, they just called to recieve a $1300 payment and another $300 payment. The Doctors are the only reason this place doesnt get a Zero Star rating. The front desk is a diaster. There is no communitcation between the Drs and the front desk people. When you go in, you will sit for at least an hour or so, (whether or not you are alone in the office), then you will wait another 30 minutes or so in the room. When getting a refil of ANY prescription (other than thru their office), be prepared to have it denied because they can not get a patients file straight! They denied my dog insulin, WHICH IS KEEPING HER ALIVE due to her needing a full exam. Mind you we had in her 3 weeks prior to get a spot check, and we not told that in order to refil the LIVE SAVING MEDICINE, she needed this exam. I go to place my refil online, and get a DENIAL. WTF is wrong with that!! The front desk staff made it appear like they were not at fault, when clearly they are the reason for this place becoming a complete shit show. They do not care about your pet, only that you are a bother to them when you have to make several calls to get an anwser. Save yourself the trouble and headache and avoid this place like the plague. Hell, your pet may stand a better chance getting it than actually being seen or having questions answered. We are absolutely fed up with the fact that they would not refil our dogs medicine, regardlesss of the situtation that they caused. read more

This is where I bring my pets too. I have not had any problems with them. Until March 29th of 2017. I brought my sister and brother in law with their dog Casper. Too be put down. We had called in advance to see how much it was going to cost they told us $117.00 for every thing and I asked the lady 3 times to make sure. So we get there and now the total is $226.00 .So after going back and forth they paid the full amount. So we get in the room and the vet had to leave 3 or 4 times because he kept for getting things. You know its hard enough to say good bye to your fur baby. Then the vet puts the needle in his leg and then says oh this isn't going to work and just grabs the needle and yanks it out and blood is all over the place .And doesn't even say he is sorry. I was floored by then. If you cant have enough compassion to be a little more careful and then start to move him and say oh I guess I should check to see if he is gone. Then you need to get a new job. Because you don't have enough compassion or care how any one feels. You have ice for veins and no heart !!!!!!!!!! read more

Worst experience ever. After waiting with my sick cat for nearly an hour, the front office staff yelled across the lobby asking about my cat's problem. Once back and seen by the Dr Coolidge, I explained that my concern was that my cat was not eating and he was acting like he did when he had a previous mouth injury. I tried to help hold him so that she could take a good look, but was told that my help wasn't needed. She briefly looked and said it was normal. I showed her pictures of his previous mouth injury, again she briefly looked and said it was normal, except for the lasting effects of the previous injuries. She presented me with a proposed bill near $600. I refused multiple tests. When she got the lab results, she informed me that he was in renal failure, that's why he wasn't interested in eating. I told her that he was very interested, but acted like it hurt and would stare at his food bowl and water and cry. She was focused on the labs and not my cat. I had to probe to get answers. Her suggestion was for me to leave him there for a few days, but he probably would not get better. I opted to take him home to be with family. I had to ask for special food and appetite stimulants. At home I have him lactated ringer boluses, but still felt like the problem was his mouth. We took him to another vet clinic where they allowed my daughter to hold him during a thorough exam. Sure enough, he had a cracked tooth, exposed nerve and gum problems. He was given an antibiotic shot, pain meds, different food (that is softer for him to eat) and advised to bolus him with saline instead. My bill was much smaller for an actual exam that looked at my cat and a plan that helps him to get better. He is nearly back to himself, no thanks to Companion! Biggest waste of money because it's not about providing care, it's about getting as many animals through the doors and charging for unnecessarytests. read more

I have been bringing my two cats here for the last 6 years or so and have never been disappointed. Their prices are reasonable and their staff is friendly. I've never felt like I was pushed to purchase tests and medications that I don't need, like I have at other vet offices. This weekend, I had to have my 14 year old cat put to sleep after she was diagnosed with cancer. I was terrified, as I have never had to have an animal euthanized before. The whole staff was kind and sensitive throughout the entire process and I can't thank them enough. read more

I took in my cat, thinking it was likely going to be an end-of-life appointment. The cat is old, and she has drastically declined over the past several months. Aside from the fact that I don't want to see what was technically my first child suffer unnecessarily, an additional concern I have is that the cat has become antisocial, hiding in the closet, and she has become really aggressive with my daughter, growling and hissing at her, when they happen to occupy the same space. My daughter can walk into the room and the cat will growl. The cat has never liked my daughter, because the cat came first, but she has never been aggressive toward my daughter. My daughter is now afraid of the cat. So, I took my cat in to see what was wrong with her. The reception staff was great. They listened to my whole story and took notes. I had to wait only a few minutes for an exam room. The tech who came in and took my cat's temperature and got more information from me was great. She was very sympathetic and suggested that sometimes things can look worse than they actually are. She even suggested some behavioral modifications I can try with the cat to get her to stop pooping all over the house. Then the vet came in. This is where I have a problem. From the very beginning of my encounter with the vet, I was put off. She talked to me like I was a small child, chastising me for not feeding my cat properly, for not feeding her the most expensive food, though I don't buy the cheap stuff now. She suggested blood work and routine labs since the cat is old. When I said I didn't have a ton of money to spend, she said she would put together an estimate for me. When she came back into the room, she had an estimate written up with someone else's pet and with someone else's personal information on it. When I talked to her about how aggressive the cat has become toward my daughter, she said to me, "Well, you need to deal with your daughter. This is a very sweet cat." My daughter isn't the problem. My daughter doesn't terrorize the cat. She's afraid to even go near the cat, because when she happens to be in the same room, the cat hisses and growls at her. While I am glad I didn't have to make the horrible decision to put my cat down, I was appalled by the way I was treated by the vet. I was extremely emotional throughout the whole appointment, thinking this was my last time with my cat, and the vet continually talked about how sweet the cat was and that the problem must be with my daughter. Her "bedside manner" left a lot to be desired. I won't be back. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! RUN!!!! I took my pet here for years until recently. There is one receptionist that is so horrible she shouldn't work in customer service. And after I was told that they would always be able to provide my pet's REQUIRED medication, they failed to provide it and he was forced to go off of it cold turkey!!! I wanted to talk to someone regarding this service failure and was told that I didn't take the precautions so I wouldn't run out. I was finally able to get my pet regulated again only after I switched my vet. It took several weeks and a few hundred dollars later. I will never advise anyone take their pet here. They do not have half the compassion that you would expect out of a vet. It is truly sad that they can't take the time to accept any responsibility for their actions or lack there of. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. My story is horrific. My family owned a perfectly healthy German shepherd. Rex was his name. He was one and one half years old when we took him in to get neutered. Upon picking him up he was bleeding terribly out of his sack. We asked if this was normal and the vet very clearly said yes, stapled him and bandaged him up and sent him on his way. After caring for him non stop for about 3 hours back at home i noticed his breathing was not normal. I called the clinic and they told me everything would be fine. That these were normal symptoms of post surgery. Trusting their judgment I hung up the phone. Not even an hour later, poor Rex became unresponsive. We rushed him to a 24 hour vet clinic. The only reason he even had a heart beat by the time we arrived we because my poor 16 year old daughter was trying to give him chest compressions in the back seat of my car. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do. We lost Rex. After the autopsy report we discovers he had bled out internally. How could they mess up a procedure that is performed so many times a day so wrong? I STRONGLY do not recommend this place. RIP Rex. read more

Really disappointed. I am sorry to report my experience was poor. I asked on the phone for specific details on price and services, and even again in person immediately prior to my appointment, and yet was still presented with a bill TRIPLE the amount TWICE quoted. The front desk explained that it was my fault for not asking the vet directly for the cost of each conversation and detail during the exam. There was not a bit of kindness, friendliness, or compassion at any point during my interactions with the front desk staff, and they were distinctly uneducated regarding the services provided to the extent that I was given incorrect information that could potentially endanger my dog. Only upon extreme pressing was I able to get proper recommendations from the vet on staff. The vet & vet tech were fine, average is really the word. I would advise other pet owners to steer clear. The prices are appealing but the reality is this place will promise one thing and then fail to maintain their word. I only got routine vaccines for my pet and shiver at the idea of trusting such a shady place for anything more extensive. We had two 8month old boys(schipperkes) that meant the world to us. We needed to get them neutered. We looked at many local places,reading reviews and comparing prices. We decided companion seemed like a good place. We were surprised at how busy they were. We dropped the boys off at 8am. around 1pm we get a call that the boys were done and all went well and we can pick them up at 5pm. About 15mins. later we get a call that one of them died in recovery. When we came in to say goodbye to one and pick the other up the surgeon never came to explain anything to us. I felt she at least owed us that. Instead a tech came in and said I'm sorry he was in recovery and quit breathing, and they tried CPR for about a hour but couldn't bring him back. We were devastated and brought our other dog home to find out he was razor burned all over where they shaved him. Through the night he took his e collar off (probably going crazy with the iching and burning)and got his stitches out. The next day we had to take him back. By this time we had more questions on what happened to our baby. We wanted to talk to the one that did the surgeries but she wasn't there. A guy that was kinda in charge glued our dogs incision and we asked him questions. He wasn't sure but he went over the report with us. Come to find out our dog quit breathing when they removed his oxygen tube. He couldn't say why he told us,because he wasn't there. It could be several things. Then we were charged another $15.98 for some ointment for our dogs razor burns. Then the next day we had to go back and pick up our baby's ashes. I still wanted to talk with the surgeon that did the surgery on my dogs. She was too busy. My dog was under her care and died but she is always too busy to talk to me about it? It makes me feel like she made some type of mistake and is avoiding us. My conclusion from the info I got from talking to the guy there and things I've read about, is that they are way too busy in there and they took out the oxygen tube too early wanting to get another animal into recovery. Thats my opinion. The whole thing was a very horrible experience with both dogs. We will never go there again. If you love your pets like we do, spend a little extra money and get it done at a safe place. Not where people are rushing around taking more than they can handle and letting something like this happen. Also, the coupon price isn't the actual price. you pay extra for fluids, pain meds ect. which we did. and paid more than I was quoted on the phone. I have been bringing my dog to this Companion Pet Clinic for 7 years and I've always been impressed by the doctors and by the veterinary techs however the receptionists and the manager are extremely rude, they are very unfriendly they don't look you in the eye and greet you when you come in. This isn't just an isolated case but happens all the time. Finally I got fed up with it and wrote a review about the unfriendliness of the receptionist and the manager and the next time I took my pet in the manager took me into a side office and told me I was no longer allowed to come back and that my Dr Who I felt I had a good rapport with didn't want to talk to me. The manager lied to my face saying that they gave me such good deals on things which I didn't even know about. Except for an extra x-ray they took without my knowledge they said they wouldn't charge for which I had thanked the doctor for very much. I was condemned for sitting in the front office looking up different prescription prices so I could afford the medicine that would make my dog get well because it was half the cost of what I was being charged at the vet. The manager said this was not acceptable and because I wrote that review I was no longer welcome at that office. So basically the behavior of the manager and the receptionist and there are two of them that I know of in addition are allowed to be disrespectful and rude to customers and this is okay. But when you complain about it or write an honest review you're banned from the office. Please be very wary of this veterinary office they also charge $10 if you want to get your prescription somewhere else because it is usually half the cost elsewhere. She left in May to open her practice near where she lives, In the mean time, the awful vet, whose name begins with a C. is still there. They hired a new vet, who was NOT thorough when I took my new pup in and did not seem slightly interested in checking her out carefully. Went back today for a shot for the new pup and to have my other dog looked out because she seems to have a bad cold. Waited an hour in the room. there were 2 vets on and only one room was ahead of me. They seemed to be spending time in the back chatting. I will never go back. Both vets that are there now stink. When I explained why I was leaving without being seen, the staff upfront could have cared less. Didn't even try to see when a vet would be available. We have taken our dogs here for some time now, and each time have been charged an excessive amount of money, several mis-diagnosis, extreme long waiting periods, very rude receptionists who make you wait, and usually don't acknowledge you upon arrival, etc. Our last and final use of their services was last year when we had to put a beloved pet to rest. We had taken our Boxer Mastiff to them because he had lost the use of his back legs completely, and wasn't able to get to the backyard to relieve himself. We had decided to put him down at which time we requested and paid for a private cremation in which we were to receive his ashes at a later date. We waited two weeks and no word came to pick up Tyson's remains. We called the clinic and the receptionist told us she would return our call in a few minutes, we waited, no call. We called back at the end of the day and were told that they were unable to find the ashes and would get back to us. Two weeks later we called back again only to find that the original request was incorrectly placed and Tyson received a public cremation, no ashes to be returned to us for a proper burial. Now tell that to your children who have lost their beloved pet! We were offered no compensation, and only a, "There's nothing we can do for you, the damage has been done!" I do not under any circumstance recommend this clinic to anyone, and only wish that I had not given so much of my business to them prior to this tragedy. They really didn't deserve it! When I originally scheduled my appointment for my dog to be neutered the lady on the phone said to be in between 8:30-9am for drop off. I called at 8am on the day of my dogs appointment to clarify, before I drove all the way out here, whether or not I should bring the coupon I was using and the payment prior to the surgery. The woman who answered said I needed to have the coupon at drop off and that they needed to have my dog by 8:30am. I wasn't concerned about that because I had already planned to be there at that time, however, couldn't get my printer to work and ended up arriving to the office at 9:10am (which is only 10mins past initial time I was told) she said she would go and ask the doctor if it was okay to drop my dog off. They ended up not letting have the appointment and said how booked they where and scheduled another appointment 2 weeks out when just two days before I received a call from the clinic informing me that the doctor was sick and that we had to reschedule and got my dog in the next day! The overall tone was just rude... Terrible customer service!!! Neither of the women up front even made eye contact with me.... I know for a fact that the dogs sit in a kennel for a bit prior to an operation. The overall feeling I got from my experience is that they wanted to be assholes just for the hell of it. I feel sorry for them, I will never take my dog here and I will let anyone considering this clinic know that they are much better going elsewhere. read more

This is the place to go to kill your dog. My dog got sick so I took her in and was charged $280 for test and an Rx for steroids. They told me to come in the fallowing week for another test which I did. I asked how much it will cost and was told $12.50. After they took her back they gave me a bill for another $130. Again I asked what was wrong and they said she has worms and an immune system problem. they asked me to bring her back the fallowing week for another test for $12.50. I did and got another $90 bill. each time I asked if she was in pain and if putting her down was the humane choice. Each time I was told she would get better. The next night after her last visit I found her gone. I'll spare the details but it DID NOT look like it was peaceful. If i were you i wouldn't bring them my goldfish. Worst vet I have ever seen.
