    Torta de Carnitas!
    Rosting A.

We called this taqueria to ask if they had buche tacos, and to our surprise they said yes! We couldn't get there fast enough. Most taquerias don't serve buche, so our little hearts were overjoyed to find one that does. This spot feels cozy and very inviting from the décor to their wide variety of agua frescas. My favorite is the pepino con limón with chia seeds, and I can't wait to try more! They have a taco happy hour on Taco Tuesday: most tacos are $1.99, with the exception of buche, tripa, and cabeza, which are regular price. Their fries are so yummy! We're big fans of the asada fries, but recently we've become hooked on the adovada fries simply scrumptious. In just one week, we went back three times (check my check-ins, lol). The staff who cook and prep the meats are incredibly kind and friendly. The cashiers, however, could use a little work they sometimes have a sour demeanor, which is a bit off-putting. This place can get busy, and it can get a little messy during the rush, but overall it's well-maintained. Note: Their bottled beverages are expensive $4.99 for a Jarritos. You're better off getting a large agua fresca for the same price and more beverage. parking is limited because of all the other shopping centers there so you may have to park far.

Third time and still just as good as the first time. It's a big deal for me to find a new place and enjoy it, it's even a bigger deal to go again and it's just as good as the first time. Consistency is important to me and the taste and service was just as good every time. Busy place but if you want something good you might have to wait a minute for it. Great place.

My family and I have been craving some good Mexican food. Being from San Diego, we've found that the Mexican food up here is very different, so after finding this place on Yelp and reading the reviews, we decided to give it a try. The first thing that caught me off guard was the pricing. First, the prices increase if you pay with a card. Second, the portion sizes were surprisingly small--a half order here seemed like half of what you'd get at most other taco shops. We ordered five tacos, adobada fries, carne asada nachos, and two frescas for $60. The food was okay, but I was surprised to find nacho cheese on the carne asada nachos. In my experience, they're usually made with shredded cheese and topped with cotija cheese. We had leftovers, which we packed up to take home. However, before leaving, we used the restroom, and it was extremely dirty. It was so unsanitary that I didn't even want to touch anything in there. To make matters worse, there was a dead roach outside the restroom. After seeing the condition of the restroom, we immediately threw away our leftovers. Unfortunately, cleanliness does not appear to be one of this establishment's strengths, and we will not be returning.

Ok, I feel crazy reading the positive reviews here since my experience was very different. I got the fish tacos and the fish were cooked to absolute death - see pic attached. Didn't finish eating them. I also got the nachos which were so ugly that I didn't even snap a photo. You can watch them assemble your food through the glass, so I saw that the nacho chips were poured from a bag directly into a styrofoam container and cold shredded cheese was added on top. There was no attempt to melt the cheese whatsoever. It was disgusting and definitely not worth the $12. Will not be coming back.

Place is very clean including the bathroom. Restaurant is well lit so you can see how clean it is here. Theres a lady cleaning the floor and tables when we got there and while eating she was cleaning the tables and floor again. Its 5pm theres a line when we got there until we left. Service is good and friendly. They sell some produce which is nice. Theres a salsa bar but no limes just lemons which is good but I prefer limes. We got strawberry mango aguas very tasty and horchata both very yummy. Taco tuesday my order only asada is $1.99. Small corn taco shells but they put a lot of meat. Super yummy they have a glass separating the kitchen you can see them prepare the food. Sonora toppings are the same except they use flour tortilla and the meat looks different. Regular tacos we got asada, cabeza and tripas all yummy. Only thing I can say about Sonora taco it is good but it tastes like Im eating a burito taco because of the flour tortilla. Cool thing you can hear the chopping of the meat in the background. Interesting the have a big fan on the table. Everything is good gonna be back for the aguas and tripas. Lastly pay cash a little cheaper. Have a nice day!

Tried this place last Tuesday for taco tuesday and it was okay. Kinda disappointed with the service and the tacos. It was pretty pricey too , we spent $75 ..We ordered about 26 tacos all together .. the asada, adobada and carnitas and they were salty. Also the way the packaged our orders was messy, they only use small plates for the tacos and the sauces went everywhere.. all over the bag and didn't come with any utensils or napkins or anything. Also didn't get a receipt and we were short a few tacos when we checked at home. Not sure if they charged me correctly . We also tried 1 cali burrito , that was a little better and the portion was big. Maybe we will try this place again another time but the first impression was not it.

I really like this place. I'm glad it's in Menifee. The food, service, and environment is always clean, good, and friendly. I only have one complaint is that they have an Al Pastor "Trompo" but they don't cut the meat onto the tortilla as expected. They serve precut Al Pastor from a serving dish like the other meats. It ruins the experience and flavor as straight from a trompo is way better than soggy meat sitting in some dish. I will still come back just skip on Al Pastor if they keep serving it that way.

My buddy and I came for lunch today and this place was delicious and great well served and not pricey at all We came from San Diego

Found this gem on Yelp. Wanted some tacos and let me tell you, did not disappoint! I ordered a mulita and adobado fries which both were huge! They pack it all on too. Made in front of you which I love and the person making the food will ask you if you want chili or onions etc. both delicious! Hubby ordered papa asada which again packed on and filling! He also ordered a taco sonora which was also huge and he said was delicious! Our little girls had fries and plain asada tacos which they enjoyed. I had a horchata and hubby had the cucumber aqua which were the best and so refreshing! Not too sweet either. Overall, it was delicious and price wise reasonable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Place was clean and open. Great place! Thank you!

4 tacos: Birria/pastor/papas chorizo x2 Drink: Jamaica and pomegranate

Always good food. The drink was good just not used to Jamaica not being so sweet. The tacos are great and a lot of flavor. Two separate rooms, one where you order and seating, other room is pick up and condiments. Workers are always helpful and cooking guy is fast so be ready to answer his questions. Haha

First time coming here but always hearing about them...i can say they are really good...i always go to downtown san diego and of course its hella bomb there...but just to far...so living here in menifee im glad they have this spot...at least it can feed our cravings...tacos have lots of flavor and we loved the tortillas...the meat was tender and tasty...my son ordered the fries and he said was also flavorful...will come again

    Felipe V.

Absolutely amazing! The carne asada fries were loaded, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The quesa taco de birria was incredibly juicy with rich consommé that took it to another level, and the quesa taco al pastor had the perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and crispiness. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The Tacos are loaded on the big corn tortillas and your food is made to order and you can pick and choose toppings when they call your number. On top of the great food, the customer service was outstanding--friendly, fast, and welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots around. Highly recommend!

Ask the Community - Coyote Taqueria

Are any of the tacos gluten-free friendly?

The flour is clearly a no go. But they do not market, nor disclose whether their corn tortillas are GF. Probably not, sorry

Do they make their own tortillas?

Yes, and they grill all their meats. See photos

Any fish or shrimp tacos or even vegetarian tacos like potato tacos?

I got the tamale plate which comes with generous sides of rice and beans...I would have preferred more tamale for my tamale plate. The rice was dry and gritty but paired decent with the very mushy beans. The tamale was a bit bland as well. I did enjoy the chips and freshly made salsa though that comes free with the entree. There are no single menu items like you can't order just one taco or one tamale by itself without getting a whole platter of other things. The server was friendly and didn't rush us even past 10pm.
