I had purchased my first VW from Compass 7 years ago. I remember we had a very pleasant experience then. We have since moved away and they are 1.5 hours drive from us. So when it came to shop for a new car we first started looking at dealerships closer to us. After 2 horrible experiences, we decided to try Compass again. We decided to purchase the car on the very last day of the month to take advantage of the 0% financing offer from VW. I had received a quote from Alonzo Taylor a week earlier. So I called him late afternoon of that day and he assured me the Jetta Sportswagon TDI I was interested in was still there. He waited late for us beyond their normal business hours to complete the sale as my husband and I were driving in to the dealership from quite a distance and from two different directions. There were no last minute surprises, no tricks and no pressure. Alonzo is extremely professional, pleasant and a delight to work with. Having completed the transaction we told him we would be back over the weekend to pick up the car. He had the car ready and waiting that Saturday as promised. The transaction took no more than an hour. The Finance Manager Rich Besten was very pleasant to work with as well. I would highly recommend you ask for Alonzo if you buy a car from this dealership. They were not the cheapest but worth the extra money for the hassle free and pleasant experience. If there was one thing I could critique, I would have preferred to have known about the extended warrantee option and the Tire package ahead of time so I could have thought about it some more instead of having to make an immediate decision. I leased my second VW Beetle convertible from Compass and, while they pull that stupid "gotta talk to my manager" stuff, I still LOVED my salesman and was very happy with the deal. Where they have really excelled has been in the service I've gotten since then. I've gone back for everything from routine maintenance to a teeny, tiny tear in the convertible roof and they have always been extremely helpful, fair, and accommodating. I usually wait for the service and they've never kept me waiting longer than promised. When the convertible required replacing, they chauffered me back and forth to my home so I didn't have to wait all day. On another occasion they even delivered the car to me because very nasty wintry weather was coming. They keep advising me that I may get a survey from VW and ask that I give them a good review. Always fantastic service!!! I've been bringing my old 2003 Vw Passat in for service for the past two years and never have I been so satisfied with all the work I've had done and then some.. Any concern or issue I have with my car they tell me to come right in and we address the issue in no time .. Jeff traverso is absolutely outstanding!!! From the first time I worked with him I knew he wasn't pulling one over on me and he knows how much I care about my car!! I depend on these guys to keep my old car running and they never fail me!!! Wow is all I can say. Probably the most exciting car buying experience I've ever had. I'm 22 and a fresh college grad and was looking for a reliable, well priced, sporty car. I came to Compass Motors after scouring the other dealerships in the area, and considering other brands. There were many options but none seemed to really be anything special, I almost gave up hope on finding what I was looking for until I saw the 2010 Volkswagen GTi. My jaw literally dropped. Absolutely gorgeous car, right in my price range, and it was in my favorite color white. The friendly sales staff informed me about the sign then drive event, as well as a student discount through VW. I joke with my girlfriend about this, but it was exactly like the commercials! I own a 2004 Volkswagon Passat which I am completely satisfied with. I have found that since Compass Motors has taken over, the service department is extremely efficient and caring. I recently had my car in for 40,000 mile routine service and at same time had repairs performed on the trunk latch,and I found the humming noise turned out to be the power steering pump. Not only was Adam Brady, service advisor, helpful, but Vanessa McNally ih Service contacted my insurance company before work was performed and handled my insurance claim. She kept me informed of the procedures and timing to get the repairs done in a timely manner. She certainly is an asset to Compass Motors. read more

There are no gimmicks at this dealership and the entire process was simple from start to finish. My financing for both vehicles was completed within an hour and my cars were clean and ready to go on the same day that I made my decision to purchase. My follow up questions days after purchase were answered immediately and my service reminders are sent to me via email with no annoying phone calls pushing unnecessary services on my car. Compass Volkswagen and their staff went out of their way and helped turn an out of warranty repair into a covered repair at no cost. The entire Compass team from reception, parts dept, service dept was exceptional with their courtesy, professionalism and sincere interest in customer service and satisfaction. In my particular experience, they have set the standard by which other dealerships should follow. They took the hassle out of hassle. I put off my 20k tune up and finally called and, in an amazingly nervy way, asked for a same day appointment. The service dept rep, Todd, went out of his way and made room for me! When I got there, some thought had already been put in to my service call and Todd explained that I was going to have my 30k tune up instead (I really was late in scheduling the tune up). The appt was probably going to take a couple of hours and Compass arranged for a ride to the mall for me! So nice! compass is all about customer service. Much to my surprise, I actually had a really good car buying experience at Compass Volkswagen. They aren't pushy, they didn't try to pull a fast one on me and it's the best service/maintenance I've seen. I bought my 2008 Passat wagon in NJ, but get all my service done at Compass. The service counter folks are the best. They are friendly and really explain the service recommended and don't push non-essentials. If you take your car care seriously, this is the place for used VW owners. So far so good......but it has only been 4 days. Called the sales man to let him know that the steering wheel is a little off center and that there is a little shake (bent wheel or out of balance) so we will see what they do when I bring it in for its first service in a little more than 3 weeks from now. read more
