A month ago I had to put my pet down. At the vet I signed all the paperwork, paid for a private cremation with ashes back and paw print. This process was supposed to take 7-10 days. I called the vet and they found it odd they did not have the ashes back either. They called this company who said they never got my pet. The vet spent three days going through all the paperwork, reviewed their camera's showing footage of an employee picking up two dogs the next morning, my dog and one other were the only two animals that left the facility that day and this is the only company that picked up two animals, yet this company said they have no record of picking up two dogs???? ITS ON CAMERA??? They ignored the tags, they did not do what they were supposed to do and now I am waiting for the vet to meet with the owner of this company. Either way, they lost my pet, they did not properly log my pet in, and at this point she was probably part of a mass cremation. The bottom line, there is NO COMPASSION from this company, they are saying "we don't have a record of it so it did not happen". Did I mention ITS ON CAMERA SHOWING IT DID HAPPEN??? BEWARE of this place, Compassionate is in name only apparently. read more

Our 1st experience- November 2005- my husband's beloved dog (Homer): The vet's office arranged it; though this was very painful, was very pleasant, after everything was done. Homer's remains were placed in a nice little cedar wood box and a Rainbow Bridge poem featuring some locks of his hair. Our 2nd experience- September 2013- my beloved dog (Kia): My vet arranged it. The presentation was much more, than our first experience. In addition to Kia's remains placed in a wooden box, I also received a Rainbow Bridge poem with her locks of hair, an impression of her paw print in a leatherette case- that was very sweet, and a little seedling packet (a nice gesture). Everything was encased in a sage green pretty drawstring bag, which was presented in a black on white, paw printed gift bag. This was impressive and thoughtful. (Compared to our first experience, which seemed basic.) I'd like to think that Homer & Kia are back together again, both healthy, vibrant, and filled with energy, and enjoying their time together, as they had before, in the past. They were unlikely buddies. Imagine a yorkie with a pitbull-lab mix, haha, funny, I know. Losing a furry member of the family is very, very difficult (as I am typing this, I find myself tearing up again), and getting THE experienced pet cremation service in town, makes this painful process a little easier. Professional. Thoughtful. Experienced. I am sure we will need their services again, as we cannot imagine our lives without dogs. Highly recommend this company. read more

Allen and Elizabeth (and the gentleman who works in back) are all kind and compassionate people. I called them when I lost my old boy, Chip, who was 17 - very old for a Lab. I decided I'd take my dog to them, rather than leaving him at the hospital to be picked up later. When I called to tell them I was on my way, Allen urged me to pull over if I started to feel overwhelmed. Elizabeth was waiting for me and gave me a hug when she saw how devastated I felt. She guided me through the choices and showed me the metal tag that would accompany Chip so I would be sure to receive the correct remains. Since I was only in town visiting, they arranged for him to be ready quickly - a gesture I really appreciate. I also love the framed paw print with locks of his hair. Saying goodbye is so hard and this is the second dog I lost in as many months. Knowing it was coming soon didn't lessen the pain, but the care and compassion we were given helped. I dropped my best friend or 8 years off after getting hit on a Saturday and he was ready to come home by Monday. They issued me a certificate, and made a little memorial frame with his paw print and clippings of his hair. They also sent me home with a beautiful card and their apologies. I wish I hadn't of had to find this place, but given the circumstances I'm Glad I did. Last Saturday I had to say goodbye to my fur baby of 14 years, Tukie. My heart was and is still broken. I had to use CPC recently for my precious fur baby who passed away. I got there exactly at opening and even though the sweet lady wasn't ready and organized for her day she still treated me so well. We were able to get through everything until I had to say goodbye that's when the tears came and she was so compassionate of my feelings. They have great prices great choices of boxes or urns and they treat the pets with dignity in front of their families and I firmly believe in the back as well - when it was time for pick up the gentlemen that called was very empathetic and kind on the phone and when my son went to pick up his baby he was treated very well. Super unfortunate to have to write this review but need to give credit where credit is due. I'm writing this review kind of as a third party which I guess isn't typically how Yelp reviews go... our family cat was ill for a few months leading up to his passing so my parents knew it was in his near future. My parents shopped around and chose this crematory based off of a few things and one being our vet recommended his establishment. My mom said when they picked up our cat she began tearing up and the owner rested his hand on her shoulder providing comfort to her, no different than as if a human relative was no longer with us. That compassion is a rare find now a days, so it's nice to see people still want to be there to provide comfort and help people. On the business aspect different price points and options are affordable and available. The plaque with paw print and fur as well as the rainbow card given are such a special touch to keep the memory of our fur baby. From the moment Allen picked up the phone after we called to ensure he had our information from our veterinarian office, we felt a little bit more at eased as he offered his sincerest condolences for our lost dog of 13 years. He informed us he had picked up Sadie from GV Animal Hospital earlier (we had waited a bit to call due to the heartache) and that he would keep us updated. I awoke to the shock and great sadness of finding my beloved cat, Desmond dead on the bathroom floor. I was so confused because he was relatively young and showed absolutely no signs of any illness what so ever. While overwhelmed with grief, the first thought in my mind was what special place out in the desert was I going to bury him? Fortunately, I had a small moment of clarity and decided that I would go with cremation as I could not stomach the thought of my buddy being alone in the Mojave. I did a quick Goggle search and located Compassionate Pet Cremation. I called and Allen the owner picked up. I explained my situation and he told me he would be back at the facility later in the afternoon. He offered up a suggestion on what to do with Desmond until that time. I recalled Allen and he told me to come on down. When I pulled up in the parking lot he met me with cart. I placed Desmond on the cart and Allen covered him and we walked inside. Allen discussed the cremation process and little was said of the cost, only that for Desmond's size it would be approximately $98 and would come with a simple urn. Allen then informed me that in another room would be some other options. Allen left us alone while we looked over many different options. We settled on handsome yet simple burgundy colored wood box. Allen then advised that it would be a couple days before he would call and let us know we could pick Desmond up. Allen called two days later and I went to pick Desmond up. In addition to the cost of cremation, I was given a beautiful frame with a cast of Desmond's paw along with two snippets of his hair. Compassionate Pet Cremation lives up to it's name in every since of the word. Allen was so kind and not for one minute did I ever feel that my loss was being capitalized upon. Writing this review is one of the last things I wanted to do, but feel as though it is necessary. Upon choosing to go with compassionate pet cremations, I felt like a lot of research went into where I wanted to choose my fur baby's remains to be properly handled. I went with this company because they had the option for a viewing prior to cremation for us to see her one final time. Viewing was set for a Wednesday. I had received a voicemail at 5:30am Tuesday that they had "accidentally" put her in the torch and she was cremated. No one wants to hear their dog was in a torch, regardless of the reality of it. Now that voicemail sits in my phone about torching my baby. They had said to call later for me to speak with the owner/manager in which I did. The owner didn't really let me get a word in during the conversation. He repeated "it was a human error" over and over then proceeded to tell me the hours of operation to pick up her ashes and ended the call. But.. how could that process be flawed? Some may not understand the connection between humans and their pets, but this baby girl was my world and just thinking that her treatment was not handled properly or with care has made the grieving process so much more difficult. I lost my dog of 15 years, whom I had with me my entire adult life and I swear my heart stopped when her's did, and before the cancer took her I planned out what I was going to do so I didn't have to plan it while bawling my eyes out. The man that seems to own the business is the kindest and most gentle voice I've ever heard, and he always has a box of tissues on hand. I'm the first person to think doing something like this is silly and unnecessary, but there's some pets you have that are not only a perfect companion for you, but you're the perfect owner for them, and you feel like together you take on the world. And that kind of heartache gets a bandaid on it from this kind of memorial service, which is sometimes the feeling to bring closure that you need. The plaque with her paw print and fur gave me a little feeling of bringing her home that day. I can't say enough how much I appreciate this. Also, on a practical side, they have many ways to assure you that what you are receiving is in fact your pet's ashes, including watching the cremation in person and having a metal tag with them, later found in their ashes, that will match the metal tag they gave you the day you brought them in. I found Compassionate Pet Cremation here on Yelp. I was surprised by the many 5 star ratings. I looked at the website and it was simple compared to other crematoriums. Often times people choose a service based on their website, myself included and I am glad I didn't do that this time! While their website is not as fancy as the others, I can definitely confirm the five star reviews the others have given on Yelp. We brought our cat to the facility on 1/3/15. My sweet boy passed on New Year's Day and I was worried that no one would be open. I knew that I would have to keep him around until I found a place to cremate him and that was agony in itself. This is the only crematory I found that was advertised as open on the weekend. Upon arrival, Allen requested that I place the box I put my cat in on this red velvet covered table. He then proceeded to cover the box as if he was tucking my baby into sleep. I almost lost it and started crying again because I was taken back by his sincerity and compassion. He explained the process, we discussed prices and then he invited me to look around for a specialty urn if I wanted. He was so caring and nice that I wish I had the $600 I paid to the vet to help my baby, so I could have spent it there instead. Once business was handled, I felt a heavy burden being lifted and I knew my baby would be in good hands. It's not often you receive good vibes during a painful transaction such as this.
