This is the goto aquatics supply shop in the area, but I wish they had more competition. They usually have everything we need, but aside from one circumstance where we needed a tech suit fitting and got good service, every other visit the staff made me feel like I was bothering them with my business. Also, my kid is on a smaller swim team, and I honestly feel like since we're not with one of the bigger teams (GoldenWest, Novaquatics, Azot), we don't get the same respect. read more

I ordered a pair of jammers for my son with the CAS representative at his swim team's swim wear fitting event. They did not have my son's size at the time for fitting and the CAS representative wasn't friendly nor helpful. She led me to order a much larger size for my son. I called CAS to exchange it to a smaller size and they refused to do so. I do understand that they don't return or exchange products with a team logo. However, they need to have a competent and friendly sales associate on site and with all sizes available for fitting so customers like me would not waste money on an expensive item that doesn't fit. I have heard some parents experienced the same thing as well. I definitely will not shop with CAS any more. read more

I swim laps everyday, the last thing I want to do is to write a review on their products and see more people that can't swim wearing Speedos. I've been to Competitive Aquatic Supply in Irvine and have seen them peddling their supplies at local swim meets. But, it wasn't until recently that I made my way to their warehouse/store in Huntington Beach. They are located in what looks like an industrial area. Parking is plentiful in their lot. They are much larger and carry more supplies than their Irvine store. As you walk in, they have suits on their bargain racks. Some great deals can be had on competition and training suits. They carry all kinds of suits including technical suits. In addition to suits, they also have fins, goggles and other equipment for swimming. The employees are nice and helpful. They can help fit you for goggles and other equipment they sell, yet they don't use high pressure sales tactics. This is a great place for swimmers, of all levels to get their gear. They have suits for both male and female. Whether you compete or swim laps, this is the place for you. read more

Excellent customer service! I recently ordered swimming supplies for our daughters. Annie took my phone call and was extremely patient and kind. She took the time to explain the process to me and what items would be best for our daughters. Later on, when there was a misunderstanding on the delivery date, she called me personally to apologize and had all the items sent to our house in a timely manner. I ordered a tech suit last Friday because I have conference finals Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I made sure to pick the 2 day shipping method and I was aware of the pick up method in Irvine but I was going to be out of town and didn't have time to pick it up. I paid an extra $21 just so that I could get it at least by Tuesday the latest. I usually get an email confirmation but I never received one and started to get worried so I called them yesterday (Tuesday) and it turns out they thought I would've wanted to pick it up at the Irvine store. The lady on the phone repeatedly cut me off and she said that the tried to call me multiple times and emailed me multiple times but I haven't gotten one email from CAS. When she checked to see where the package was it turns out they were bringing it all the way back to Huntington (after taking it to the Irvine store without me agreeing that I would pick it up there) and shipping it out on Tuesday and said it would come Thursday. It seemed like they just assumed that I'd pick it up but I specifically said 2 day shipping for the convenience. I'm in college and I have a 3 day conference final meet Thursday through Friday and I won't have a tech suit for my first day. I'm honestly heartbroken right now and I wish they would've given me a refund for the 2 day shipping because it technically took 5 days. I won't have a tech suit for my most important college swim meet of my swim career. Usually I have no problem with CAS but I just had to write this on yelp. I plan to call again today to talk to them and hope the staff will be understanding of my situation. read more

I love this place! I've been coming here since I was a freshman in high school. I still swim and play water polo and I love buying new gear from this place. They have a parking lot sale every November that is so worth going to and it lasts for 3 or 4 days. Misrepresenation and bad faith - Competitive Aquatics Supply Misrepresentation and Wrongful denial of our return, Lucinda Byrne Koh We have had issues with Competitive Aquatic Swimwear. At this time, it's over a year since: 1)We suggested to Karen the LZR X Black 23 fit differently than the LZR X Grey 23, 2)Were told by Karen Suji and others that "was impossible", 3)Trusted their "expertise" and purchased it for Junior Nationals. It was delivered late by a volunteer, "authorized rep", too late for trying on, 4)Discovered the Black 23 caused my daughter pain during her 200 IM race, 5)Was told by Karen that the problem resided with our daughter needed a resizing and they'd be in touch with a date for being "on deck", 6)Waited while they didn't come as promised for a few months, 7)Was directed then by Karen Suji to buy both the 23 and 24 Black LZR X sizes, and return the non-fitting one, 8)Found the prospect of trying on the size 23 just before Sectionals (it takes 20 mins to put the suit on in some cases)made my daughter refuse to try the 23 while on taper for Sectionals or thereafter because of her previous experience, 9)Asked CAS for a shipping label, was denied; tried to return it to the CAS Shop set up at Grand Challenge in May 2018, and was told there wasn't an "authorized rep", 10)Was told to wait to give it to Coach Jodi who went to meets where CAS would attend, which often weren't the same meets that my daughter and I attended (except Grand Challenge as explained in 9), 11)Received confirmation CAS received the suit from Coach Jodi but wouldn't refund it (though it was never worn, tags remained fully attached - due to a subjective policy that Karen Suji had apparently told me to break to do a re-sizing, misrepresenting their intentions from Feb 2018), 12)When CAS arrived on deck yesterday, and again began to communicate through an unpaid representative, rather than speaking with me directly. I communicated that we were expecting return of our monies as promised, or it would be considered consumer fraud. They use the unpaid "authorized reps" as a buffer to avoid good business practices and accountability. CAS holds both our monies and the suit after already misrepresenting the problem, then misrepresenting and fraudulently setting up a purchase for a return they never honored, nor explaining any possibility that they might not take back a non-fitting suit - even though the suit was never tried on, though directed! Therefore, fully 2 1/2 months after we delivered our suit through their chosen, unpaid representative, and 4 1/2 months since we attempted to deliver it to their official shop set up at Grand Challenge, this company has possession of both the suit and the monies for the suit. Below are emails of their preferred method of moving around merchandise for business. It's a good system, if it works in a timely manner, and if they follow through on their verbal commitments. In our case, they have done neither. Instead, they deploy methods which make it difficult to track their verbal agreements, have suits that arrive so late that mistakes can't be fixed (like the one listed below when the suits arrive the evening before they awoke in the wee hours of the next morning for a flight to a meet in Iowa, and prefer to use volunteers who aren't accountable to the consumer, though on official business.) By using these methods, they remove and weaken communication with and consumer protections for customers . In the case I will describe below, CAS actually committed consumer fraud. In the emails below are other examples of agents not directly employed by CAS, directing the business of moving their stock items and opening the system to failure. Their response is to misrepresent their intentions, while directing a solution that ultimately they claim the policy can't support after the fact. We compare their policy to 2 other tech suit sellers, and find CAS to be lacking . After these emails given below, we detail how the system and lack of available CAS "authorized" reps has led to situations of unfairness and aiding consumer fraud. They continue to do things through other people, and didn't come to the deck themselves with the order. In December, they sent a suit to be worn in a meet in Iowa that CAS would not attend. It arrived very late - late after evening practice and just hours before some youth were leaving in the wee hours of the next morning through an unpaid volunteer whose child wasn't leaving the next morning, and perhaps didn't care that the suits needed to be checked before the flight.**(Update at end). Our drive was 1 hour to get home that night, and there was no room for fixing any errors with the suits being packed immediately in swimmers' bags for the Iowa trip. The email above shows that this is a bad habit, even with the previous volunteer, whether CAS or the volunteers are delivering suits last minute before a meet.... read more

The annual swim sale 2015 is Nov 21,22, 23. Last year they had women's suits for $20. A good deal. Check the website for more info. The staff at CAS is very knowledgeable. I swim with the Long Beach Grunions and Christine made purchasing items for our swim team easy. I was able to get my suits and shorts personalized. I also like the fact that they are open on Saturday's so I can still work and get to the store. read more

I called 15 minutes before closing when I was enroute. It was made very clear that they do not assist customers near to closing. If I was there 5 minutes before closing, I was told I would not get assistance and needed to know exactly what I needed. I was asked by employee or manager(?) if I like to leave on time from work. I responded, I'm a teacher so I never leave on time. As a fellow small business owner, I was surprised by the lack of customer service. I hope her clocking out at 5 was more important than my money. I called yesterday at 10am a spoke to a lady just to make sure they will be open today due to this weekend being the 4th of July weekend and double checked their hours. She was very short and seemed irritated that a customer was calling to ask a question. She said they will be open today until 3pm and abruptly hung up the phone. I drove 45 miles and got here before 2:30pm. They were closed. I called and left a message then called their Irvine location to see what was going and I was told that the Huntington location was not open today and he has no idea why the lady from the Huntington location that I spoke to yesterday would say they would be open today. Needless to say, I have to drive additional 30 mins to go to the Irvine location. MAJOR INCONVENIENCE. They need to train staff to be courteous when answering calls/with customer service and give out CORRECT INFO about their business. read more

I have been shopping here for twenty years. Since it was a tiny hole in the wall store. I was in water sports in High School and College. Now when one of my former team mates has a baby I like to get them a Mini Water Polo Ball. I've done it a few times in the past. Today, I went in to buy one and this happened. Me: "Can I get one of the Mini Waterpolo Balls?" Girl at the counter: "The Splash Ball?" Me: "No one of the smaller ones." Girl: (Hands me one.) Me: Do you guys have any yellow ones or pink? Girl: "No they only make the Mini size in Blue." Me: "Oh really?!? Because I have been shopping here since I was in High School and I have seen them in yellow since then. And every time one of my friends has a baby, I buy them a yellow one." Girl: "What's your last name?" (Looks me up on the computer.) "It says here that the last time you bought one of these was back in 2009." (which isn't true) "And that it was blue." (Also not true.) "Unless you bought it under a different name." Me: (Now baffled and speechless at why she is not only saying something that isn't true, but that she has the balls to keep going with it.) "OK." Her: "Yeah as long as I have worked here we have only carried blue ones." Me: (Still speechless.) Her: "I think Mikasa only produces one color at a time." Me: (Still speechless and wondering why she is such a know-it-all about things she is clearly wrong about?) And then I bought my stuff and left. And from now on, I will buy my stuff online from another store. WTF? That girl needs a lecture about customer service and how to not need to be right. I couldn't find my swimsuit an hour before a pool party. I wanted to get a new one anyway, so I called CAS, telling them I was probably going to be late and get there after the closing time. They reassured me that they would stay open until I got there. I drove 15 minutes and arrived. I got out, and walked up to the door. It was locked. I knocked over and over again, and no answer. When I looked in, all the lights were off and nobody was there. I checked my watch, and it was only five minutes after two P.M (their closing time)! They obviously had left just after I called them. I drove to Dicks, which had a better swimsuit, and even though I tried, I was late by a lot when I arrived at the pool party. Disappointing service, to say the least. read more

They don't have a size chart on their web site, so I called and the woman was very helpful, she also said I could come in a view the sizes to see which would be a better fit for my child. Just my luck they're only a street away from where I work so I was able to go there and view the swim suit in person. Very helpful woman (forgot her name) helped me choose the one that would better fit my daughter and was able to print the team logo on it immediately. Would have given them 5 stars but took one off due to the lack of size chart. I will definitely be back for some more team gear. read more

Came here the other day for a suit, cap and goggles. I used to come here yearsssss ago when I was playing waterpolo and competitive swimming. They always have everything I need and huge selection of bathing suits! I had my 6 month old daughter with me and the two young ladies working there were soooo nice and offered to hold her for me so I could try on swimsuits! This place is the worst in returns and processing. I purchased a pair of jammers and paid for express shipping. well the sizes they run and tell you fit for a 9* year old are not correct. i sent the jammers back, had to pay my own shipping back again and now they called me for a credit card to pay for shipping again!!! i have now paid 25$ in shipping all together. never buying again and will tell all the parents at lasc that these people are horrible. As an avid amateur swimmer I've been coming here for years!! Great place to pick up a speedo on sale (average price for sale rack for women's one piece suits is $39.95) and their brand swim caps are a great value at $1.95 each. Especially since they wear out after too many swims. Swim goggles galore are priced about the same as those in big box sporting good stores but the accessories available here for swimmers are the best, bar none. They stock every imaginable thing a swimmer might need from bungie cords to SPF lotion. Staff are ready to assist with whatever questions or needs you have. If you find a suit that is damaged bargain on the price- as long as you can live with the flaw. I just sew 'em up! Great find for anyone who likes to take a dip. And yes they have aqua aerobic supplies and suits (the ones with the built in bras that cover everything) but you won't find "fashion trend" suits here. You'll need to go to the department stores for floater suits! read more

I really want to give it a 1 star but I'm giving 2 stars because they have a great selection of items and their annual sale is very good. HOWEVER, their exchange policy is only for never-worn items. I swam 6 laps in my new $65 suit and it was so stretchy that my boobs fell out. Now it's obvious I got the wrong size but in the dressing room it felt just right. If I would have ordered the same suit online with Speedo directly I would be able to return it. So now I have to get out my sewing kit and figure out how to take up the straps or something so I can get some wear out of it rather than being a total waste of money. I always prefer to shop locally from a small company but in this case it doesn't make sense unless you know exactly your size. read more
