They did good work, were relatively responsive, and generally stayed within our budget and desired schedule. They also worked relatively well with a handful of subcontractors that we wanted to use for different aspects of the work that needed to be completed. It's been about a year after project completion, and everything seems to be working fine so far. A couple minor issues arose in the past year but they handled them relatively promptly. If we have another significant project in the future, we'd definitely consider hiring them again.

And they're just very sweet people, nice people to have in your home every day for a month. The interior designer they brought into create design sketches and mock-ups gave me a couple really valuable ideas that helped me make the best decision when I felt a little lost about how to do it. We hired his nephew, Denny. 1 month was the completion time we were told. Beginning of August 2023 was the starting time and here is 2024 with an incomplete yard. Completion time is nothing compared to the rest. I really need no words... just look at his work that he's been proud of, each step of the way. I do not know how he has a license. He was not knowledgeable about certain things, was unprofessional, negligent with poor communication skills, horrible workmanship and was ok with obviously horrendous work. Beware of Denny Cohen. He shrugs off concerns, believes his guys over clients so doesn't even check on the concerns & lies about little things such as digging, dirt replacement, leveling, sloping, seams, and likes to raise his voice at women when he is asked about something that is obviously wrong. I was uncomfortable continuing to work with him and Realm Home insisted I do anyways. Even though they knew how the last interaction between us made me feel like crying afterwards due to his aggressive tone and telling me how anything he does-- I won't be satisfied-- over and over and over again. All we have asked for was proper completion. We were willing to accept so many things that were wrong but we couldn't accept these things you see in the pictures. I don't believe anyone else would either. A huge project that he could not handle. I don't want anyone going through this!!!! If he had only addressed our concerns when we first brought them up, instead of brushing us off... ***oh it's supposed to be sloped. What do you mean lumpy. We'll just brush that and it'll be fine. The seams? There will always be seams. That's what dg looks like. Dg will never be solid, the dogs will always leave foot prints. (if dogs can leave footprints, humans can leave bigger ones, so why would anyone want dg?). That's 100% new dirt, my guys said (even with video proof of the opposite) *** ... there was a huge chance that the project would have been completed and worthy of, at the very least, "settling".

The work that was done was shoddy, with no attention to detail, and caused damage to existing plumbing. Contractor attempted to charge us additional funds to complete the job after a price and scope of work was agreed upon in a signed contract prior to the start of work. My wife felt extremely uncomfortable interacting with this contractor as he was pushy and inappropriate. In short, a very dishonest outfit. Do not trust this guy.

We were able to benefit from his discounts in obtaining tile, fixtures, and equipment to create the style that we wanted in the bathroom. His team was knowledgeable in making recommendations to improve the project. The project basically stayed within the budget parameters that we agreed to in the design phase and he was willing to make modifications in the design as the project developed. His workers were careful in their work and cleaned up each day as they finished work. The project took about 6 months to complete and turned out to meet our expectations for a modern, renovated master bathroom.

This review reflects my personal experience as a customer of R&M Construction for a major…read moreconstruction project. I was first presented with a very short, two‑page contract on the job site and was asked to sign then and there. The contract I signed did not include a completion date or a clear total cost, which later became a major source of disagreement. I was told permits would take about 2-3 months and that construction would take another 90-120 days. In my case, the project went at least six months beyond those time estimates. The work might not have even been completed if I had not gotten personally involved. I spent significant time communicating directly with city utility personnel and insurance, even though the contractor had represented his services to me as "full service" and "end‑to‑end," including permits and utility coordination. After substantial payments, we still had disagreements about the final amount owed, especially related to change orders that I had never seen much less signed off on. While we were still in disagreement about the amount of the final bill, R&M recorded a mechanic's lien against my property. That lien led to ongoing litigation.  I have been in business for over 30 years and I had never been sued prior to my relationship with R&M Construction.  After the lien was recorded against my property, I looked up public records using the contractor's license information. Between 2023 and 2025, I found 23 mechanic's liens recorded by R&M against their own customers.  Read that again...23 in just 2 years!  These records are publicly available through the county recorder and can be verified by anyone who wants to review them. 23 mechanics liens over 2 years - effectively one a month -- is a  shocking amount to see. Based on my experience, if you still desire to hire R&M after reading the above, I strongly recommend:   - Have the contract reviewed by an attorney before signing; - Make sure the agreement clearly states the scope of work, total estimated price, and schedule; - Put in writing how change orders will be documented and approved; and most importantly, - Consider checking public lien and licensing records before moving forward. In my opinion as a former client of R&M, this was a very stressful and expensive experience caused by the way R&M chooses to conduct its business. I personally would not hire this contractor again, and if I had known R&M filed almost two dozen liens on its clients in the past two years I would not have hired them for my project.  I would urge everyone to do careful due diligence before deciding whether this company is right for them.  No one wants to be sued or have a lien put on their property as a matter of normal business with any construction company they hire.
