Went here on a Sunday morning. I am not much of a golfer but was invited to go hit some balls at this range. This is the 2nd time in my life that I attempted to hit some golf balls. I was excited to try my new golf clubs that I recently received as a gift. I was taught by the people I came with. Provisions to basic fundamentals about etiquette when playing at a golf course. I felt comfortable because there was not alot of people that were hitting golf balls at the range at this particular location This place is affordable and has plenty of slots to practice your golf swing. Clean and secluded. Definitely coming back to practice. Bring your own beverages at this location, you will need it, this sport is exhausting lol. Nice ambiance and chill down here. From the moment I arrived, the staff and even the people around were welcoming and friendly. They took the time to explain the process, which made getting started simple and stress-free. That kind of environment really helps when you're just trying to work on your game and build confidence. I started with a small bucket for $7, which was perfect for getting some swings in and dialing in my basics. By the time I finished, I enjoyed the experience so much that I ended up purchasing their value card. definitely worth it if you plan on coming back regularly. The hubby usually comes here with friends but I occasionally come along with him the range to hit some gold balls when I'm feeling up to it lol. For 50 balls it's $7 which is a decent price and so we each for 50 balls. I love using my driver to hit and the hubby uses his driver and a few other clubs. I can't speak for the rest of the golf course but the range is usually clean. The only thing I don't like when we go is the smell.. it's like a sewage smell I guess that's nearby. read more

Great 9 hole executive golf course, with 2 par4s and 7 par3s. Pace of play is decent, but can bottle neck on the two par4s. Water is in play on hole 2, 8, and 9. The course is really well maintained for the price. read more

Ordinarily I would give 5 stars but after the events of today, I would downgrade it to 3. I showed up about 25 mins early to my tee time. We were granted permission by the one behind the counter to tee off. On the second hole after we teed off we were told that an autistic kid and his instructor needed space so the ambassador is literally escorting us around the course. Listen - i have empathy for autism. I have it. But the decent thing to do is to let us play through not escort us around like 3 year olds just to ensure that the kid and his coach have room. They made a mistake not us and now we're being punished for it. Have some freaking courtesy for PAYING customers. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. I was delivering a trailer that I had sold to someone at this location, and while I was walking behind the trailer as it was being moved down the roadway, a man suddenly came charging toward me yelling, "Get out of here! You don't belong here!" I was confused because I was there for a legitimate reason. I explained that I was delivering a trailer for a sale and that I also own a trailer business. I was even considering asking about RV storage at this location, but his behavior immediately changed my mind. Instead of asking who I was or what I was doing in a professional way, he was aggressive, rude, and acted like I had no right to be there. I work hard for a living, I transport trailers, and yes, sometimes that means showing up with dirty hands from doing real work. No customer, guest, vendor, or business owner should be treated that way. I finished what I was there to do and left, but I will not return. Based on how I was treated, I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful or professional service. read more

One of the best public driving ranges imo. They offer a Range card for under $50 with plenty of balls to last you several days at the range. You can hit off the grass on certain days, they do rotate mats to preserve the grass I assume. Played here a few times, course still looks pretty good shape, been open over a year now if I am not mistaken. Short walk-able 9 holes with 2 driveable holes. Slicers will lose some balls in Hole 4 definitely. Fairways are pretty open, def a plus to work in your short game. Be prepared to sacrifice some balls to the Golf gods on the last hole over water. Priced very reasonably, one of the cheapest 9 hole rounds around. Check them out if you havent been here yet. read more

Things have improved over the handful of times Ive visited in the past year. Theres been an effort to notify of future closings. I still would suggest signage be placed at the mouth of the parking lot entrance rather than the fence.....as most wont pass that area when parking. Staff changes have helped with improving ambiance. Course was in great shape Guys in pro shop were friendly All the targets at the range were the correct yardages. I thought it was interesting that mats are used on top of grass surfaces. Totally get why they do it - to preserve the grass and let it heal. But it does result in a kinda spongy ( or forgiving ) surface from which to hit. Cannot beat the price of the range balls! Pace of play was good A tiny downside was the starter - he would not work for a German railroad. I think that speaks to the low-key nature of the course. Overall it was a really nice 9 holes. Since the course is newly back open, the grounds are pristine. Perfect place to sharpen your short game, but watch out for the goose poop everywhere. If you slice your driver, you'll lose a few balls on 2 & 4. Hand carts are a worn out, but serviceable. Range is nice, there's shaded benches behind every few bays. Off the grass on Wednesdays. Cheapest large bucket in southern california. Pro shop guys always chill. Pace of play has always been ideal when I've played. read more

So let's get the first thing out of the way... Iron Wood can be a bit "fragrant" because of it's placement next to the cities waste management facilities. Other than that it's a great little 9 hole. You won't need your driver much (only 2 par 4's and one of them is sub 300 yards) but it's a fun municipal course if you're looking to get out and get in a couple holes in under 1.5 hours. Parking is super easy and it's rarely busy. Highly recommend. read more

I haven't been here since I was a kid but it definitely does need some better up keeping. There was something that smelled really bad today not sure if it was the pond but it was very dark green and just couldn't see through it. There's definitely always a space in the driving range area and it doesn't get too crowded. People are respectful here and there usually aren't any kids making a scene. read more

I have only been here to use the driving range. The prices are very affordable and the mats on the driving range are well taken care of. They are not damaged at all. Also, I love their sand bunker area where you can practice with your wedges , the putting area is also well maintenance. I hope they open up the course soon, just by looking at it, it looks like they do a great job there too. read more

Surprisingly located in Cerritos not Norwalk. Located right off of Alondra near where the 605 and 91 fwy connect. Price is ok...$13 is what we pay on the weekdays as non-residents. They do have a driving range and 2 putting greens where chipping isn't allowed. Across the parking lot is a chipping area that has always been locked when I've tried. The workers are fine...nothing great and nothing bad. It is a par 29 9-hole course that must be walked...no carts. There are 2 par 4's (#2 and #4 which has an extremely narrow fairway). The par 3's are not very long but nothing crazy short like Heartwell in Long Beach. The greens, fairways, and sand traps are kept in pretty good condition. The worst thing about this place is the nasty smell from I believe the water treatment facility next door and the noise from the freeway. read more

Noticing this golf course off the 605 freeway I decided to come check it out. Facilities/range: -Nice practice putting greens -No frills starter and small cafe and restrooms -Cheap prices on range balls and you can actually hit off real grass (SCORE). Buy the range card special...I think 4-5 buckets for $20? -Plenty of parking spots -Range balls should be cleaned off from time to time since they are pretty dirty 9-Hole Course (7-par 3s and 2-par 4s): -BADDDD tee boxes (no tee boxes???) -Narrow fairways -Holey greens (do your part and fix your divot and another 1 or 2..as they taught you) -Not too many rowdy hackers, beer chuggers (opposite of Monterey Park) -Understand that this is a nice starter course for newbies, so be patient and have fun. The course is fairly easy and they actually have some water hazards and OBs for you to contend with I'll be back to practice (since I have leftover range balls on the card). I like being able to hit off the grass. The range is pretty short...about 250+ to the end of the range...so for you big drivers, you'll definitely hit netting at the end. A nice course, lots of par 3s and a few 4's. Of all the times I've went pace of play is good. If you're looking for serene and quiet, it's probably not your spot as it's right off the freeway. That being said the greens are good overall and the course is kept well. read more

I take my children here for Itsy Bitsy Golf camp offered through the community center. It's a nice golf course with a pond and many ducks. The instructors are nice and courteous as well as positive in assisting you with any questions or concerns you may have. I recommend this place for the junior golf and intend to come play occasionally on my own as well. read more

Pretty nice and well kept. Great place to learn or get back into golfing. Only 15 bucks a round! Maybe because of Covid but no food or drinks besides a vending machine and no Pro Shop to pickup last minute balls or tees. Also no cash accepted, credit card or ATM only. read more

The course is well maintained and that is what the 2 stars are for. There is obviously someone doing some great work on the grounds. The other 3 stars are not deserved because there seems to be a disconnect with logic in the starter shack. Three of us played Ironwood Nine in 1 1/2 hours and we felt like we barely warmed up by the time we were done. We asked if we could play another round when we got done. We said we would pay for it of course. No one was on the 1st tee, no one was on the 1st green, and no one was on the 2nd tee. The attendant paused for a second to think and said NO, because they were booked. Instead we putted for 20 minutes and when no one came to the tee for all that time, I went to question again why he told us they were booked when no ne had even been called to the tee all that time. We could have made it to the 2nd green by then and they would have taken in more than $40 more profit. When I inquired for the second time signaling there had been no one on the first tee for a very long time, the attendant called for two twosomes to come to the tee. We didn't stay more than 30 minutes to see if the two twosomes ever made it to the tee. We just walked away thinking they could have managed this more logically and made $40 more profit for the course. I realize it is not good to overbook the course either but if a little discernment effort was put forth here 3 people who didn't get to play this course for a long time could have played more golf and the course could have made more than $40 profit without sacrificing anything. read more

Iron wood!! Been coming here since I could remember! This is a 9 hole golf course (no carts walking only) located next to the 605/91 fwy). They have a driving range in which you can hit off grass or Mats. The price is very fair. When you play, you also have the option to hit off the mats, but I love coming here because you can tee off the grass. And for this course being just a 9 hole and about $15 to play, they maintain this place pretty good!! I am always impressed, greens are nice, scenery is nice, most fairways are narrow but it is an enjoyable course. Hole 2 , 8 and 9 you have to hit over water, but it is fun. It is a great course to work on your short game, and they have to holes where you can use a driver. They do take tee times in advance, don't expect too fast of play because like I said, there are no carts. read more

I like playing this course but players here don't clean up their tees, or repair their divots and ball marks.

Before I begin my review, I would like to say that I am very much still a beginner at golf and have been playing for less than two years and just recently figured out how to hit with my driver. I had always had a fear of playing at a course like this because I was always afraid that my drives would fly out of the course and break a window or hit a car. Well let me tell you, the only thing surrounding the course is an industrial area on the first two holes, the san gabriel river on holes three and four, a water treatment plant on holes five through eight and the driving range on nine. Don't be afraid to play here if you are worried about damage to property. The course is decently maintained but I just think they need a marshall out on the course and driving range. During my game yesterday, the group in front of us was taking balls from other players and denying they did anything. When we caught up to them on hole number five, they were using all the balls they took and teeing off onto the 91 freeway. There were also minor issues like bunkers not being raked on the course and people running out onto the range to retrieve balls. Even with this minor problems I will continue to keep coming back because it's a good place for a beginner like me to get some confidence in my game. read more
