Warning! Do not bring your computer here!!! No idea why this has so many 5 star reviews. TL:DR Expensive power jack repair delivered with dangerous sparking that the store then lied about and did not rectify when brought back. By far the worst computer repair experience I've ever had. I needed to repair the charge port on my laptop and I dropped my computer off. The service was quick, but more expensive than expected. Part of the reason for this was a $100 parts charge that the owner failed to disclose when he called me telling me the parts were in stock and only informed me of on pickup. I was willing to ignore it, since the repair was done and at least my computer worked now (or so I thought). Upon bringing the computer home, I plugged it in and the power jack, which was supposed to have been fixed, began to spark when I plugged it in and became excruciatingly hot when left on. This had never happened prior to the repair. I went back and the store had the computer for four days, and I called back a few times with the kind woman (who is not the issue here) telling me that the tech saw no sparking and that everything was normal. Finally, she informed me that nothing was found and to pick it up. We were both shocked to find the computer violently sparking when I plugged my cord in. When calling the tech he said that it does that, but "put it in gently" and it won't happen. So why tell me you did not find anything if you clearly did? This is not only a fire hazard, but a new issue introduced to my expensive laptop that did not exist prior that the repair man decided to lie about to me and his front desk person (who was just as shocked). For a repair that cost nearly $300, I was expecting my computer to work and be safe to use. When confronting the repair man, he claimed that the computer "charges properly" so he did complete the repair. He offered to fix the fault for the cost of parts afterwards, which was odd given that he claimed no responsibility for the fault (at one point, blaming the charger, and then blaming the motherboard which had been swapped months earlier and was working well). One thing I will add, when pushed on exactly what he did, suddenly he did not change any parts in his explanation, despite charging me $100 for parts originally. Regardless, I would recommend that anyone avoid this shop in the future. They were willing to let me leave with an expensive computer now in worse condition than when I left it (at least it was safe to use before) and took no responsibility for the problem. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I see that the owner likes to respond with hostility to negative reviews and that alone should inform you of the character of this establishment.

For the most part, customers service is OK. If you know exactly what you want, then it's excellent. However, if you need a little more assistance then a couple members of the staff can be a bit cold. Don't get me wrong, they will help you out, but you can feel as if you are getting on their nerves (or you are mentally incapacitated) when you ask a lot of questions. Since (I'm assuming), that most of the clients are from Columbia and probably printing program books, posters, and fliers, it might useful for Village Copier to have standard templates. I think that would make life simpler for the customers and the staff.

But their self righteous attitude when I was not satisfied with results still bothers me. So I'll keep my review as a record and for your reference, if you are considering using village copier amsterdam. ------------ I printed my work sample the day before my job interview. The printed color was very off and redly toned. I complained. They said, laser printing was always right, so your file must be wrong. I asked them to reprint for double check. They said, you have to pay for it. I said, what if it's your problem. They said, no, the laser machine is too good to be failed. They won by claiming absolute rightness and charging me before they started to print. I left with anxiety about the coming interview, discomfort infilled by humid air, and anguish by my inability to fight back. Just leave a reminder here: Their level of professional service is a lie. They are always right about why the print looks different from what you have imagined. They may assume they have the best flawless machine in the world. Stay away from village copier amsterdam please. If you have to use village copier, do remember to pay for the job after you have seen the satisfying prints. Otherwise, you are left with no weapon and destined to loss.

After reviewing previous reviews, this Staples location is exactly how described which prepared me to be in and out. I entered going to the lower level where the retail items are located. No comment for the shipping/ printing services as I did not utilized and have no immediate need. Customer service is attentive, efficient and welcoming as the cashier/server made many effort attempts to "price match" my printer ink cartridge attaining a lower possible price. I was prepared with my Staples loyalty rewards card and earned 67 points with this visited purchase. I purchased the combined black ink / color ink, ergo the price is exorbitant high. I have always suffered PSTD from the exorbitant high prices of printer ink cartridges experience the precipitous path years of financial incline. He suggested to return emptied/ used cartridges for recycling as a sustainable world which I admitted I "chuck" to discard such items for the inability to travel to the nearest Staples. This Staples location store # 1117 sits 105 West 125th Street at Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem, Manhattan, NYC. It is accessible nearest via MTA NYC Transit subways 2, 3 at 125th Street station Malcolm X Boulevard or A, C subways at 125th Street station, Manhattan Avenue with a reasonable manageable walking distance.

On those rare occasions when shopping there, (i.e., for a new laser printer/scanner a few years back,) the staff downstairs appeared less knowledgable and more useful to just ring you up or handle a return. Perhaps dominance of customers ordering and better deals online has reduced the need for greater knowledge on this Staples floor beyond being able to direct you to the appropriate aisle. Plus, there is a wealth of guidance/reviews about their products on the web. That being said, it's important to have a Staples like this relatively close by when an urgent need arrives for an office good like they stock.
