Summary: The owner and front desk manager is impatient, difficult to understand, and generally confusing to deal with. He becomes annoyed if you attempt to clarify the terms and prices of the service he is offering, or return to point out a problem with his repair job. The store will not keep you updated about the status of your device, even if it takes days or weeks longer than expected. In addition, they also intentionally ordered the wrong specs for my motherboard and replaced the processor and RAM with lower performing models (an i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM instead of an i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM) without telling me. --- Longer Review: The owner (David?) is dismissive and doesn't listen, the wait times are long and frequently extended with little explanation, and the communication is nonexistent. They had my computer for almost two months (replacing the motherboard) and I received only two phone calls from them during that time. I tried to call weekly for updates and the guy on the phone would irritably remind me that they were still waiting on parts, and to call back "in 7-10 business days". Rinse and repeat. (Later, when I filed a report with my credit card, they claimed that I "didn't contact them for months" while they fixed my laptop, which is a flat out lie. I have the phone records to prove it). David was extremely dismissive any time I asked questions, attempted to clarify if we were on the same page, or tried to clear up a misunderstanding. He would cut me off mid-sentence and wave me off, insisting that he understood what I was trying to explain and that he'd "take care of everything". I thought maybe I was accidentally patronizing him so I didn't push the issue, but this ended up cascading into a series of misunderstandings down the line that he refused to take responsibility for and insisted were my fault for "not telling him". There were issues early on in the process (at one point they returned my laptop to me not realizing that the OS had been deleted from the device, which meant the store had never even turned it on to check if it it was working before they gave it back), but to keep this short I'll just say that when I got my computer back for the second time, in December, I realized that the store had straight up installed the wrong parts - my original machine came with an i7 processor and 16 GB of RAM, but my computer now only had an i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM. When I brought the machine back to the store, David told me that they'd PURPOSEFULLY INSTALLED A MOTHERBOARD WITH LOWER QUALITY SPECS because my original model was no longer available, and that they "wouldn't have been able to retrieve the data off of my computer to save it if they couldn't replace the motherboard". At no point did he inform me of this change. I would never have paid almost $500 to downgrade my own computer, which I use for freelancing projects that require a minimum about of RAM and processing power. He stubbornly insisted that I'd brought the computer in to recover its data, which was why he felt justified making the change without telling me, which was ABSOLUTELY NOT the case. I was completely stunned. I'm still not sure if he just grossly misunderstood me when he started the repair job or if he was lying to my face. I had brought the computer in to replace the motherboard, and retrieving the data was a secondary goal, which I had tried to emphasize when I brought it in (which he'd waved off and told me he'd "take care of it"). Furthermore, I cannot begin to fathom why a repair shop would think it was EVER appropriate to order a lower quality processor and RAM and replace them without telling the owner of the device about the downgrade. It's irresponsible, bordering on fraudulent. When I asked to be refunded the $347 (I felt it was fair to pay the original $150 for the initial diagnosis), or to at least get my original motherboard back, David refused both requests. The discussion escalated into a shouting match with him before my father and I gave up and left the store. The entire experience was miserable, and even if he had repaired the motherboard correctly I would not have gone back for future repairs because of the business's awful communication. It was unbelievably frustrating to try to explain, over and over again, what the problem was, only to be waved away and dismissed, and then later blamed when the job wasn't completed correctly. David does not listen to you when you try to explain relevant information and then insists that you "never told him that" when you bring it up later. In conclusion, buyer beware. I wish I had gone to Best Buy instead and just saved myself the trouble; at least I know they wouldn't swap out parts of my machine without telling me. read more

I had my Mac serviced here to have my os reinstalled to an older operating system. The tech that did it his name is BaBa. After Thirty min of getting my Mac back, I encountered issues w malicious software in my Mac tracking my email login passwords. Literally, the moment I hooked my business email to my Mac after getting it back from this place, I had to reset all my email login credentials. It was very frustrating bc I had paid $120 here and later I had paid more money for another company to get the job done honestly without leaving me any passwords tracking softwares or viruses. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Needed a VGA Cable to see what was on an old computer I found in the garage. Went to the Computer Clinic as I figured they would have plenty of these cables since it's a very outdated technology. Cable is $5 NEW on Amazon and $3 on Newegg. Computer Clinic wanted $10 for a used cable which they had a bucket full. When I said it's $5 on Amazon, clerk told me "we're not amazon". I then said this is outdated Technology no new monitors use this cable he then said "Ok, $7 then." I just started laughing and left the store. BEWARE! I sent my Teenage niece in to get a repair estimate, and they claimed that because she signed their intake ticket, she agreed to a $150 repair! One, she was underage and could not agree to anything contractually. Two, it was a very quick soldering job, that they completed in the 20 minutes it took me to show up. Either way, she asked for an estimate. They tried to explain to me that $120 of the cost was labor, and that she needed a mysterious 'Part' to fix the laptop. $120 per hour for labor!?! Fortunately for me, I am technical and could have fixed it myself, but just didn't have the time. So I knew how long it should take and what a reasonable price should have been. That's when they started dropping the price, several times, until they got to $60! I didn't pay those ripoff artists anything, because they tried to take advantage of my teenage niece. If they had given her an estimate of $60, then it would have been OK. But instead, they saw an opportunity to take advantage of a no technical teenager. Shame on them! read more

I had purchased a new license for Windows 10 but was having issues installing the software. I brought my PC to Computer Clinic. David fixed my computer and also installed Windows 10 for much less money than the license I purchased. I was able to get a refund from Microsoft since I hadn't downloaded the software yet. David performed the work in the same day so I was able to get it fixed quickly and was up and running hours later. read more

I have the water damaged phone and dropped it to clean on Oct 2, 2017. The cost is $35. He told me it should be tomorrow. And I called next day but he said it was not ready. But he didn't call me. so I called him 2 days later and he told me it failed to turn on the phone. He asked me to fix the phone for replacing a logic board, $175. He would not subtract $35 when I paid initially. So total cost would be $210. What kind of business... Then I requested to check the screen work or not before fixing a logic board. He said it would take 2 days to check up. But I waited 2 days, he never called me again, so I visited the store on Oct 13 and an employee said my phone transferred to other store to check the screen. WOW past almost 2 weeks to check the screen status? and they don't have a simple skill to test about screen? I received the phone call from him 2 days later then screen is also damaged. He suggested $260 to fix screen and logic board. I denied it. Here is our conversation today, his answer is becoming more ridiculous. I finally came to the store to pick it up on Oct 20, 2017 around 2;45pm and I ASK him. "Did you open my phone case to clean?" he said, Yes" I asked him, "did you disassemble all parts and clean it?" He was very disconcerted my question. I asked, "What kind of chemical did you use to clean my phone?" He said, "coffee". I could not believe what I heard. He said, "I put your phone to a special machine". I asked, "What kind of special machine, what is the name of it?" He told me it's name, Ultra Sonic. I said, "Did you use an Ultrasonic machine and put coffee to clean my phone?" He said, "YES" I couldn't believe what he has done to me. I knew the OWNER, old man is NOT a honest person. I have mixed feelings about this business. I took my 13" MacBook Pro in to upgrade the SSD to 500GB. At some point we got into a short discussion about the brand of SSD. Samsung came up, which he thought were very good. I agreed. I wanted something better than the original Apple brand. I should've known things weren't going to go well when he called me and said he couldn't log in using the password I gave him. Hmm, it happens he was trying to enter the password in the wrong account. After I pointed him to the correct account, he was able to log in. To make a long story short, when I came to pick up the MBP, the receipt indicated he installed only a generic SSD (later verified by me w/ special software that I use) instead of a Samsung SSD, for which he charged me $157 just for the part. $120 labor to back up the original SSD, install the new one, and recover the backed up data. I could've gotten a top of the line Samsung SSD for less than $70 from Amazon. Then, on top of that, he said there were "other problems" that needed to be fixed, and charged me an extra $120 labor without asking me for permission (and without revealing what those "other problems" were). I told him that there was nothing wrong with the machine when I brought it to him. All I wanted was an upgraded SSD. We started going back and forth for a moment (literally) because I didn't want to argue with him in front of other customers. I let it go, but will think twice before I go back. Finally, after I saw what was entailed in the upgrade, I could've done it myself. Next time I will. Even though I brought him a portable drive with the data already backed up, he apparently needed to back up the data again! No wonder it took so long. I rely on my MacBook Pro to run my businesses. Any downtime costs me money. It's been overheating over the past two or three months and getting worse. I took it to the Apple Store where they ran tests and said everything was working correctly. To find out why it was overheating, Apple Genius said I would have to turn over my computer for approximately two weeks. Two weeks? Unt-uh. Can't be without my computer that long. Computer Clinic fixed it in a couple days. Update: MacBook Pro was in and out of shop. They tried to make it right, including installing a new motherboard, but now the computer is unusable. I rely on my studio PC to record a weekly podcast. I typically build and work on my own computers but, when I couldn't get my machine to bootup and none of the recovery options worked, I relied on the professionals because I absolutely needed it ready to go in one week. I reached out to David Dastan, on a Tuesday, to tell him about the issue and confirm if he would be able to have it ready by the following Tuesday. Within a half hour he had responded confirming that he could definitely have it back in time for the next recording. Excitedly I put the tower in the car and head over to drop it off. While I was dropping it off, he explained that he couldn't guarantee they could get it to boot up again, but they would do everything they could to save my data and they might need to reload Windows and asked for a $95 deposit. I paid the deposit and I told him that I understood and that I could reload windows myself, my biggest concern was getting it to boot up again or just getting the data. He said he would call when it was done, which would be later that day or the following day. I asked him to email me instead, since I have easier access to email. He asked me to write my email address on the ticket, which I did, and also insisted on getting my phone number. I am ecstatic that they are going to get to it immediately and everything is going great. Tuesday goes by, no problem, I dropped it off in the afternoon. Wednesday goes by; I am sure something just came up and it is taking longer to get it up and running. Thursday, at 6pm, after no email or call, I email David Dastan, at the original email address to politely check in on the status and make sure I hadn't written down my email address wrong. Mid-day Monday I email David again. I needed my computer by Tuesday. Tuesday comes and goes with no contact whatsoever. I even checked my phone records to see if there was a blocked number or something. Nothing. Late Wednesday morning I write a final email explaining that I will be picking up my computer and do not want any more work done on it and expect to not pay anything additional to the initial deposit, due to missing the deadline and not communicating in anyway. Within the hour I get a phone call telling me that my computer is ready. When I go to pick it up, David tries to convince me that he told me just to come back and pick it up later that first day. Then why ask for my phone number? Well, he says, he called me to let it know it was done. I showed him my phone history, with the one single call earlier that day, and explained that I specifically asked him to email me. He insisted that I had not, so I asked him to explain the email address on the ticket; which he dismissed. I asked him why he didn't reply to the 4 emails that I sent him, he keeps dismissing my questions. He then explained that I owed another $95 in order to get my computer back. After basically paying $200, I get the machine back home. Windows wasn't just reinstalled, but upgraded to Windows 10 (from windows 7); which I didn't authorize. He did seem to save my data, which was appreciated. The biggest problem is, over the course of several weeks, the computer got more and more unstable until it wouldn't boot up again. That's right, I paid $200 for them to not properly troubleshoot or solve the issue and just put a bandaid over it that I specifically said could handle myself. With the help of a friend, we determined that the hard drive was going bad. I bought a new SSD for less than I paid for their "troubleshooting" and installed it. Now the machine is running better than ever. I had to give one star because they did a poor job, they did work I didn't ask for, they did it slowly, and then, instead of trying to make it right, they charged me for it all and blamed me for not having the audacity to just show up and assume my machine was done when I was told I would be called and/or emailed. They will break your computer, then say that you brought it to them like that. After fighting with them and threatening to call the police and take them to court they finally said we'll fix your motherboard. I was so upset and wondered why it had to take so much for you to fix something that you clearly broke? I drought it in for a broken hedge that's all. Why were they even looking through my equipment? There was no reason to even turn on the device. After fighting with them, I noticed how untrustworthy they were and asked to get my hard drive because I do not trust these people at all! The worst place I've ever been too, to fix my laptop. Maybe this place is good at fixing minor problems like broken phone screens but I tried to get my keyboard fixed for my laptop and he DIDN'T fix it. He promised that it would be fixed by the end of the day. It took a whole weekend for him to finally give back my laptop and he even broke one of the keys off the keyboard and pretended it was already broken when i first came in, like he thought i was stupid and didn't know how i brought it in. Stopped by today after hitting the Apple Store and Best Buy in Reston to get a RAM upgrade in my mid-2011 Mac MINI. The Apple Store wanted to set up an appointment for later in the week for the upgrade (couldn't even buy the RAM to do it myself) and Best Buy didn't have the RAM in stock or on-line. Stopped by Computer Clinic (I drive past almost everyday and have never stopped by) and they had the RAM in stock and would install right there. I was in-and-out in 15 minutes. I would stay away. Very sketchy business practices. And, I was forced to pay for repairs I told them NOT to make. I brought an older 2nd gen iPad and iPod in for repair. Both weren't working, but I wanted them to tell me what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix. I left both devices with them. A few hours later I got a call regarding the iPad - they said it would cost about $105 to fix. By that time I did research on new iPads and thought I'd just get a new one for Christmas. So, I told them NOT TO FIX IT. They told me they'd call me in a few days about the ipod. However, I never heard from them and I called a week later. I was told to call back. I waited until after Thanksgiving and called. I was told that they FIXED my ipad and I owed them $105. If I didn't want to pay it, they would take apart the device. I ended up going to the store to get my devices. I ended up paying $75 for my ipad because the owner was afraid after I told him I'd report him to the Better Business Bureau. Then he said he didn't have my ipod. He gave it to another company to fix. He was going to have it fixed and force me to pay before even consulting me what was wrong with it. He said he would get it back and have it for me that afternoon. But, he never did. We waited a few days and then my husband went to pick it up....still broken. The owner needs to be upfront and honest with customers...not fixing things when customers tell him NOT to!! I wouldn't trust this place at all. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I came in to have my girfriends laptop looked at for a screen issue where the screen would no longer lightup but it worked when hooked up to a external screen. I called before coming out because it was 20 minutes away. Upon arrival I spoke with the main in his late 50's about the problems I was having with the laptop and told him I was going to inspect the condition of my laptop before handing it over to them to diagnose the issue. He suddenly got angry with me and refused to look at my laptop because I did not trust them with my laptop, all because i wanted to inspect the condition of my laptop before handing it over. Wanting to examine my laptop before handing it over is standard in any industry and the fact that he did not like that and got angry is very sketchy indeed. Where do I begin... I brought my laptop to them, because it was an all in-one like a MS Surface pro, and most places, BestBuy etc would only send them of somewhere the factory was recommends. That would mean losing my laptop for a few weeks. When the told me at PC repair that they could work on it there an have it back to me within days I was ecstatic. Upon arrival that quickly changed. Just to look at my item they wanted $120. This would cover repairs if no parts were needed for what he said was a bad charging port connection. Of course parts would be needed. A week later I get a call from David telling me that the mother board was bad and that it was not just the bad port that I was told was the likely culprit of my issue. This would now cost me an Additional $220. So we are now at $340 on a Laptop that I bought for $549 about 22 months prior. Reluctantly I agree. We then go into the lockdown and once we re-emerge, I contact them to get my laptop and they tell me the guy that worked on it is not there, and that I should call back the following day. I do so, and this gentleman can not locate my item. He takes my info and says he will call me back. Two days go by and no call. I go there in person and speak with David he cannot find my item either. They again take my info. Again I receive no call. For over two months I have stopped in given them my story left my info and each time they have no idea who I am. David said he would go to a storage place they use and heck and let me know. Of course no response from anyone there. I would not recommend them if you do not want to be ripped of and have your items disappear. The least they could do is call me back and just say they couldn't find my item. It's very disappointing and in future I would rather pay Bestbuy or some other company that has accountability. As much as I like to support small business, they gotta support the consumer as well, and these guys failed at that. Experience makes a difference. I wanted to use my son's old gaming computer to run Windows 7 so that I didn't have to migrate to Windows 8 just yet. My son's PC stopped working about 2 years ago and I thought the video card died. I went to Best Buy and they said they could check it out for a fee and determine the problem. I took the PC to Computer Clinic Services and they determined that I had a conflict (the video card was fine) and fixed it the same day for a fee. I was able to take it home and install Windows 7. Through the process I learned about the BIOS, RAID drives and how disk drives plug into motherboards. My PC has been working great for a month. I thought their service was great and they have been doing this work for over 23 years. read more

Purchased a 2012 MacBook here with my father after we brought his Acer laptop here (physically damaged) and we didn't think it was worth the money to fix. Computer instantly began crashing periodically during first couple weeks of use. Called Apple and they said it was a logic board issue. We take the laptop in on the 20th day of the 30 day policy they have in place. The guy David gave us issues when we told him it had not been 30 days and said he needed to see receipt for proof. We pulled up the banking transaction as proof and he was still hesitant to "repair". Called us back after 15 min and said it was fixed (HA what a joke) we go in and get the laptop it is still crashing a week after alleged repairs were made. We called this morning and they offer to replace it with another computer and still charge him $60 difference for the EXACT SAME MODEL. Fingers crossed the replacement works but I'll be back to update the review. STEER CLEAR. David is a sheisty "business man" if you can even call him one. There are a few times in life where you feel totally hopeless and need help. None of those times is when your main PC catches a major disease. Be it in the form of virus or malware, it still hurts. Kind of like the adage, you dont know what you have til its gone. I needed a pro. A pro that could resurrect my baby and make her like new. Thats when I came across these guys. Look, Im a PC guy. Ive built computers, and I know my way around these beautiful creatures. However, time is not on my side. Sometimes you need to outsource. These guys were able to fix my baby and do it well. Customer service is on par. They close at 7:30 on a Saturday, but they call me at 8:30 to pick up my fixed PC? Whoa. Excellent. Just say Francis sent you. They'll hook you up. I happened to notice the computer clinic while driving by, and I stopped in to see if they had a cord for my computer. Not only did they have it, but the refurbished computers are decently priced, and they fix broken phones. Not to mention, David, the owner was really nice and helpful. I rarely write reviews, but just felt very dissatisfied with the way they handled this. They removed a sticky label that was caught on the rollers which was prepaid for $75 fee, but then said I needed a printer cartridge assembly after I showed them that the black ink was not printing, once I returned home with "fixed" printer. (According to an HP forum for my particular printer, the ink has clogged the printing heads and has solidified shut. Simple solution, if you're willing to take the printer apart, is to remove the cradle and clean with hot water. I'm not sure this was my solution, since it was printing perfectly with black ink before I took it to the repair shop, but then failed to print after I got it back.) read more

If I could give zero starts I would. I've never witnessed such terrible customer service in my life. Such a total scam. I took my computer in to be looked at for overheating issues and was told it would be ready the next day. I went in the following day and they yelled at me that they had never said that and it wouldn't be ready for another two days. I went in two days later and was told that the motherboard was fried among other things. Only to notice that they were showing me someone else's computer and not mine! When I pointed this out I was yelled at again about how it might not be the right computer it's the same problem. I told them that I did not trust this and asked for my computer back so I could take it elsewhere ASAP. A few minutes later it was brought out with (not surprisingly!) no issues! They tried to charge me hundreds of dollars for parts and services that were not needed. DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!!! read more

This is the worst place ever. The screen for my macbook cracked and all I wanted for them to do was to connect to another screen with a cable and delete everything from my computer. I had only used the computer for about 3 weeks so there was not much to delete. I wanted to return the computer and get another one from apple and I had to do that within a certain amount of time. They told me it would be ready the next day but it took them over 5 days to reboot my computer! They charged me $100. I asked asked them to give me some of my money back because the service was not as promised but they said they couldn't. Will never use this place again. read more

Complaint Details Brought to store my high school daughter laptop for a broken hinge; paid $148.60 for repair ; went to pick up when got phone call to do so; were told screen broken by accident; we were told we can get it fix with no charge or get $69.00 ; We asked to get it fix. Once fixed, we told owner keys A and S on keyboard were not working . The owner in denial basically told my teen daughter, me there , she must have spilled liquid on it; my daughter replied she doesn't think so, and that the keyboard was working just fine until then. Seeing the business owner not willing to give credit to what customers say, we left . Contacted BBB, notified them of the service provided, and here to alert customers of potential disappointments. read more

I took my son's laptop to replace the screen, David gave me a quote for $219 plus labor which he charged me for on the spot $95.00, and promised to repair the screen in three-four days, after two days he called me to say the screen price went up to $299 which I agreed to, after a week the laptop was not repaired, and he said I would need to pay an additional $65 to have the screen shipped priority to his store. I told him I ran out of time and I will pick up the laptop the next day and he agreed on the phone to refund my labor fees since he has done no work and could not repair within the promised time frame and kept changing the price to repair. When I showed up to pick up the laptop, it was not ready and i had to return the next day, he then changed his mind again and wanted to charge me $95 for doing nothing at all and for wasting my time. After I refused and reminded him that we agreed on the phone that he would refund my money, he said ok, I will charge you half an hour, I was very upset for his unprofessionalism, he finally agreed to refund my money after he made me feel like I did something wrong. I would never return to this store. I think if you decide to use him, make sure he puts in writing everything he says he would do with a promised date clearly on the invoice. read more
