What can I say? I am a fan!!! Recently, I - via my computer - wandered into the wrong file on the internet and got my system corrupted. Now I know enough about computers to be danger and - in the process of trying to restore my OS - made a BIG mistake and wiped one of my hard drives... I fought against my nature (thankfully) and stopped digging the metaphoric hole I found myself in and called upon the pros at Affinity, whom I had previously trusted on a job. I was provided an accurate price quote and the work was done well ahead of the projected timetable. Of course, that is good, but where they REALLY shined was afterwards. I managed to foul up my computer AGAIN literally within minutes of getting it home and struggled in silence to fix whatever I had done. Two days later, I raised the white flag of surrender and called Affinity upon once more. They were able to remote-access (with my permission and assistance) in and helped me undo the self-inflicted damage, again with speed and efficiency! I came in for a laptop screen repair that was so expensive I decided to purchase an external monitor instead. I was sold a ViewSonic. When I got it home three of us tried to get it to turn on without any luck. We tried different plugs etc but no power! I was severely inconvenienced because I needed it for work right that night. The next morning I returned it with the packaging and was told that I had to pay a $30 restocking fee. This is outrageous given that I was inconvenienced and told them that since the monitor didn't work I would go ahead with the $700 computer repair. You know we all hate to see small businesses close down but this sort of lack of business and customer acumen reminds me that some just don't deserve to be in business. When you don't care about the public and can't see the bigger picture there will be someone else who will. read more

Affinity computers was recommended to me by a friend. While they resolved the main issue that I went in for, to remove a virus, the configuration and installation of the operating system was either done hurriedly or not done properly. Weeks later, I have to fidget with settings (e.g. Wi-Fi adapter goes off automatically) and I don't have an internet connection after I reboot. Power outage at our home killed one of our laptops - we assumed the motherboard 2. I really had to write an update on this place because people in my area just don't realize the GEM of a place they have here. They dont just do computer repair - they have tons of computer accessories in stock! I needed to extend my printer cable, and I automatically went to Amazon to look. THEN I remembered Affinity and I called them. Not only did they have a variety of cable lengths, their price was almost exactly the same to what you would find online. I tell you people, BUY LOCAL. And even if its a tiny bit more, you don't pay shipping either! The guys here are really knowledgeable. I've update a video graphics card, bought a new power supply from them, and of course more cables. Try them out. What they don't have in stock, they can order for you too. Took my computer there for a data recovery after the Geek Squad told me my data was unrecoverable and that it would cost over $1500 to get the data back at an off site vendor. The folks here not only recovered my data for a very reasonable price, they didn't have to send the machine to a "clean room" to do so and were on budget and ahead of schedule. Last winter, my laptop crashed and I took it to this place... I had already ordered a new laptop, but was worried about recovering the data from the old. Not only did they recover all the data and down load it onto an external hard drive for me, but they were able to restore all the original settings to the original laptop and it is totally usable again - nothing on it except an operating system, but it's in great shape. The turn around time was fast, too. And, when I went to pick it up, I was complaining that I couldn't quite figure out the Windows 8 system on the new laptop and they spent a good 15 or 20 minutes with me showing me how to use it - at no charge. It truly is a gem. I do not remember what the cost was but do remember it was very reasonable compared to what I was being quoted when I called other places. I chose this place based on the reviews in Yelp. I had an issue with a 10 year old iMac that died during 6 power outages a couple months back.It had not been backed up properly. I came to them for a consult, suggestion was to bring the new iMac in, and the old, and they would remove the disk and copy contents to a directory on the new. They explained all my options and this seemed to be the best. I did not even ask for a price estimate to do that, because it had to be done and I trusted them. Well, they got it done in one day, and the total charge was under $101.... They stayed in touch by phone, to keep me up to date. Ordered a custom built computer which looked great when I picked it up. All materials were packed nicely and cables were neatly grouped. But when I tested the build at home almost everything failed. The USB 3.0 ports were unpowered. The bluray drive didn't eject. The secondary hard drive didn't appear in My Computer. I had to bring it back to the store 5+ times to get all my problems resolved because as they "fixed" an issue I found they created another! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

My son (13) wanted build a gaming computer. In support of his project we decided to buy all of the components separately (case, motherboard, gpu, etc) We spent the weekend trying to put this pc together. I have built a computer back in my college days, but its been a while! I was pretty frustrated with this process along with boxes, cables, manuals all over the place. I called Affinity on a Monday afternoon and was quickly greeted by a live person. Once I explained my situation, he told me it would be 1hr($75) and will be able to get it within 3-5 days. We proceeded to drop it off that day and in about 24hrs it was ready to be picked up! The folks were very nice and showed us what they did(there is no way my son and I could come close). They suggested that I should get a UPS for the new computer. We did buy it there, but they were not pushy at all. Overall, very happy with the quick turnaround and knowledgeable staff. I had battery issues with my HP laptops and looking for replacement batteries. I brought in two laptops and asked Bill to take a look. I ordered a very high end system online, including an octi-core processor and 32 GB of RAM. When attempting to build my system, I bent a pin on the very expensive 8 core processor. I called around and most places were either reluctant to help me once they heard of the bent pin or they wanted to charge me a ton of money for the build. Affinity quoted me the best price and they did not give me any trouble about the bent pin. When I arrived, I was embarrassed about how all the hardware was un-packaged and disorganized and I even offered to pay a few extra bucks due to the inconvenience. Ivan was very friendly and told me not to worry about it, that they would sort it all out. I am an MCSE and have a subscription to MSDN through my employer, so I informed Ivan that I have a valid product key for a Windows Server installation. He said as long as it is valid he could download the ISO of the OS I requested, burn it to a disk and install it. I assured him that the key is valid and that I am the legitimate owner and that, having worked for Microsoft and currently working for a company who is a Microsoft partner, I am extremely anti-piracy. The very next day I received a call from Affinity informing me that my PC was all built and the OS was successfully installed! I am writing this review from my new PC. It is AWESOME! I have done business with this company for years and all of it was excellent until I bought an expensive (lower on Amazon, but I try to stay local when I can) ASUS Network router ($199.95). It failed after one week. Out of curiosity I checked out this model on the Internet, and lo and behold, a number of reviews stated "stay away" from this model as it fails. I went back to Affinity and asked them to exchange my unit for a different make and model. Since I no longer had the box they were unwilling to do anything. Nothing! I placed my unit on their counter and told them that they just lost a good customer and walked out. No wonder Amazon is who they are. read more

I've spent hundreds of dollars at this store in the past years but just a few days ago they completed some work on one of my computers and I needed extension video cables so I purchased two. One of the cables the salesman said would fit didn't so I brought it back to the store today and they said it's not one of the cables they sell and they would not take it back. The cables they sell are in cheap plastic bags stapled together so somehow, not by me, the cable was swapped out. They would not return it so I left very upset. I later called the store and told them it was their mistake, not mine and all I got was "have a good day!" and he hung up. What a great way to run a business! Called this company for a simple piece on the keyboard. Someone from the company said that in order to replace that piece I would have to replace to entire motherboard which would cost me alot of money he said somewhere in the $600 range. He was very rude which I didnt understand because I wasnt rude to him at all. After ending the phone call with him I called another company and was told that you can definitely replace that piece and that they would replace it for $90. Glad to see other people have had a good experience with this company but I sure didnt! read more
