Computer Doctor BG is an Apple authorized service provider, which means they are able to order real Apple parts and not China replacement parts. I was able to confirm this through Apple's website. When I called, I spoke with the manager, Amir, who was straight forward with me about by broken iPhone 12 Pro camera. He quoted me a price and explained the process to me. Because they are Apple authorized, customers need to bring their phone in to run diagnostics tests before they are able to order the part. I did as he instructed, the diagnostic process took about 30-60 minutes. After I left, Apple flagged my phone for an additional diagnostic, so I had to return. Luckily, I was still running errands nearby. The part only took 1 day to arrive and the replacement process itself only took a couple hours. The pricing was reasonable. I would trust Computer Doctors over Apple store. I have taken our iphones here to have the batteries replaced. Ive had my first repair with them in 2017 or 2018, and the service is still impeccable. Their staff is apple certified, so you know you are getting original apple parts as well as quality service. I am not willing to spend 700 bucks or more for a new phone at the monent, and thats why i took my iphone 2019 to them again, to have an original batttery replaced. Ain't it always the way. I first gave this place a 5-star rating because I thought they had saved my butt by selling me a used iMac at a reasonable price. And even more importantly, they gave me the impression that they had saved my [old] hard drive and most of its data. Of course, at my time of "crisis," I was in a desperate frame of mind and accepted virtually everything the technicians here told me. Less than two years later, and another computer down, I now know that Computer Doctor BG (the BG is for Bulgaria) didn't exactly tell me the 100% truth, nor did they sell me a distinguishably better machine in my hour of need. So as not to make a long story even longer, Computer Doctor BG sold me a Mac with the same mechanical hard drive that my 7-year old iMac had. And they never bothered to tell me about it, which is a critical part of the story because buying an older iMac with a mechanical hard drive is very risky due to the drive's life span. They also sold me a computer that was the same age as my now-defunct iMac for a price that I now know was at least 20-25% higher than elsewhere. And the 4-days they took to retrieve my data from my old iMac was something that other places could have done within a single day, two at most. Worst of all, the iMac sold to me already had a failing hard drive in the same way that my old one did. And that information came directly from Apple Level II technicians. When I brought all this up to the new manager and staff (everyone is gone from two years ago), they told me they would buy back their computer with a $400.00 credit against a newer iMac costing $1,500.00. You can imagine that this didn't sit well with me since their machine was now failing in the same way my iMac had died not 12-18 months earlier. I have since discovered that the people at Doctor Computer BG took advantage of my evident desperation and abused my trust. Even when their machine failed, they still tried to take advantage by offering a computer at least 35% more than I have found elsewhere. It just goes to show you that when you are desperate, anxious, and scared, you should never make a critical decision until those emotions have passed and you're thinking more clearly. He replaced my battery and magically my mouse pad breaks within hours. Then he repairs it for $70 and it's so loose you can actually move it. You could put a paper clip in the space between that and the panel. This is so bad and now where do i go in a rush to get it fixed? This all seems like some ploy to get your device. Loosen a few screws or what not and have the customer come back and keep paying for things that weren't even an issue before dropping it off. Also, i watch this man give free chargers and cords to two customers as he's trying to sell me a used charger for the price of a new one. Realizing my urgency he knew i needed it at that time. So i go home later on and google the charger and Apple charger is almost the same or cheaper. His was old and dirty. We asked to just get another Apple certified location to fix the magically broken (but never before coming here) mousepad and he wouldn't even direct us anywhere and once again my need for my computer i had to be taken for more $. He initially quoted me $179 for battery replacement and charged me $200 when i get there and i let it go as i was so happy he could fix it in a rush. Then the charger, magically broken mousepad and refusal to direct us elsewhere when we could barely wing the new charges. This man is not what you'd expect an Apple certified store to be. I was referred directly to this computer repair company after a long conversation with Apple customer service who could not help me. My desktop is "vintage" according to Apple but repairable. I brought my late 2011 MacBook Pro in to have a stuck disc removed from my built-in DVD player. They charge $75 just to evaluate your problem. I don't have problem with that. But then they charged me an additional $55 for a grand total of $130 to remove a stuck disc!!! Insane! I can take my Ford SUV into the Ford dealership and get an oil change for half that price. And that includes 6-quarts of oil, a new oil filter, and hazardous waste disposal. These guys are insanely expensive. Oh, and they failed to call me to pickup my laptop. WOW!! I'm impressed. Besides changing the battery and finishing the job as fast as a couple of days, they were able to clean my MacBook Pro screen from the inside. The screen had this reflection in the background which was distracting to look at while working and neither Apple nor Best Buy were able to address this issue when I took my laptop to them a couple of years ago. Key takeaway: They did replace my laptop's logic board but their business model is a little bit shady. I have no doubt that these guys are professional and know exactly what they are doing. The only thing is that I feel like they would rather "replace" than repair. If they could sell you on a replacement part in house rather than fix it I think they would. Hence being they could make a lot more from you. Which is why I give them 3 stars. They did the job but it felt like had I not known a little bit about computers and used parts on the secondary market I would have been finesse. $$$ Scenario: I brought in my MacBook because my computer screen would turn off after start up. I assumed it was the GPU on the logic board based on forums online. Turned out it was the issue after paying the $75 diagnostics from these guys. I asked if they could reflow the faulty part but they said they couldn't and a new logic board needs to be installed. The logic board would cost +399 plus tax in house plus an additional $130 - ($75 I paid prior for the diagnostic) so $55 out the door for labor. I decided to skip the repair and look online for the logic board because I knew theirs was super expensive. Come to find out I got a better logic board than my original board and it happens to be reflowed already so the same issue doesn't happen again (common issue on these models) with a 6 month warranty. I got it for $230 shipped and I brought it in and just paid the $55 for them to install it. They installed it within a few hours and I was a happy customer!.. until, I noticed that my keyboard backlight did not turn on. When I sent the picture over to them they insisted that it was the logic board and that it wasn't going to be covered since I brought in my own part. Then, I asked the seller and they sent me possible issues. One of them could have been the logic board (which the seller swore is not the case) but the other could be the missed installation of the the cable connection. Turns out it was exactly that after I opened up my laptop. (See pics) Computer doc BG was very insistent on claiming it was the logic board until I showed them the picture. They didn't respond via text, so I brought it into the shop the next day and got it plugged in after 5 mins at the shop. The gentleman handed my laptop back and I was on my merry way... The issue that I have is that this is a certified repair center and their technicians shouldn't miss all the connections when installing or replacing parts. I get it we are all human and make mistakes that's why I didn't make it a big deal in the store kept it cool and didn't ask for any discounts or anything. The problem is that they did not acknowledge that they missed it or messed up both via text and in person. Had I not opened it up and looked at the connection myself I'm sure they would have claimed it was faulty and made me spend extra just to get another logic board when mine was totally fine. Tip- Just be smart about how you approach things with this shop. I feel like they kind of operate like an auto shop where they will tell you to replace something that isn't broken just to make a little bit more hence my takeaway above. read more

I was keeping my MacBook Pro cool on an industrial job site and placed it on a baggie of ice which worked fine until the second baggie I used developed a leak and the water attacked my motherboard. Jared and the crew there were able to pull the information from my SSD and place it on a separate hard drive, and from that I was able to restore all of my data. Competent, I am sure. However, one of their ads says bring cmptr in and they will evaluate "free of charge"; don't count on it. At their store I had spent 500.00 + on upgrade to Dell desk top, and battery replacement for HP laptop. My Dell was now out of repair (upgrade) warranty, and I get that, but I was quoted 150.00 + to evaluate a "corrupt file" problem. It was as if I had never been in their store before. They said they would keep the cmptr for 3 or 4 days to diagnose. I thought BS; I went home and later googled the corrupt file problem; came up with an easy step by step fix that took all of maybe 10 minutes to correct the problem. I had also stopped by Best Buy Geek Squad to ask about the file problem; likewise they said they would need to evaluate/diagnose, but being Best Buy they had price incentives that were very attractive. They treated me like I was already a "loyal" customer. Cmptr Dr certainly did not. Fortunately, I fixed it myself. I suppose C Dr. & "geek squad" both knew it was typically a rather simple fix. The reviews are too good to be true, but this is my review of this place, recently took in my HP laptop to fix the screen. The guy at the counter didn't even acknowledge his name and shows his customer service rated 0. He said they will do an Advance diagnostics test which is $75 and no refund. Told me I'll get a estimate but I was the one calling and texting to find out if they have any update. Mind you, this is my first time here and will be my last. Paid $75 for a so called advance diagnostic which I already stated the issue, the broken screen. Their advance estimates which is basically nothing but a overview.
