Do not go here. allegedly They will steal your MacBook parts and sell them and avoid picking up your calls. So we want an old laptop screen replaced since I still have photos in it I want, he gives us a quote I think it's high, my husband thinks it's fine. I feel people should be paid for their expertise so we agree. The Maestro says come back in a few hours, I'm in no hurry and think a few days is fine, but okay. We returned later that afternoon it was ready. He offers to update it if we bring it back another day. Wow that is an impressive offer! I checked in on YELP but we all got to talking and I forgot to use it. It is $15 off the service fee! So if you go in use the check in offer, don't forget like I did. It must be said that this great business doesn't have it's own parking lot. Thanks I'm sure to our great City of Fremont! They took it to expand the Railroad plaza. However, next morning (Wed) when we went back to take the iPad back, the store manager refused because he said "he already opened it" ! I went there to get a quote for a computer repair (required by my extended warranty). The computer spent in the store a week, and every day the guy there promised to return it "tonight, or better yet, tomorrow morning", but when I'd come to the store, he would be not ready. After a week I finally managed to get the computer back and for $39 the guy gave me a paper that literally said "repair $380. Mother board no good". The most disorganized place. I was greeted by a man named Brian- super energetic and did not waste anytime. Took my laptop, gave me a price and told me he would check if he had an extra screen. He was honest & asked when I needed the laptop to be fixed. Since I use my laptop for schoolwork, I told him I needed it fixed by the end of the day. Laughed and joked about how everyone in the area always request for same day fixes and told me he would contact me if he was unable to fix it by the time I needed it. I contacted my friend to confirm if the price given to me was reasonable and confirmed the price was very reasonable. I dropped off the laptop during my lunch at 11:30. By the time I parked my car upon returning to work, he had called and told me he found a screen & would have the laptop fixed in 20mins! I was super impressed. He also fixed the hinges of my laptop since they were loose at no extra cost. I mentioned the Groupon and Yelp check in deals shown online and he was able to honor both deals! When I came to pick up my laptop, he also gave me a free screen protector since he noticed mine was cracked. I recommend this place. I visited this place as a walk- in for the first time a few days before Christmas 2020. Before going, I read favorable Yelp reviews and upon entrance I observed how busy the business was so I felt like I took my business to the right place. I was acknowledged right away. I came with 3 Laptops (An outdated Dell and 2 HP's). I needed the data from the Dell transferred to one of the HP's that needed a new hard drive. The other HP needed cosmetic repairs as both of the hinges were broken. Brian, made sure to know EXACTLY what I wanted done and we wrote up a work order. He told me he'd call me the next day for a quote after he was able to assess the details of the job(s).-.Which, in fact, he did call the day with a thorough quote specifying every detail that needed to be done to complete the job. Note: ALL quotes are FREE! The same day I visited another computer company in Hayward who was going to charge me $75 alone for a quote which they'd keep if it wasn't going towards a job. During the quote, Brian was honest about the options I had about fixing the HP with the broken hinges which, come to find out, is a common problem with the HP model I have. Everything was completed the next day and I paid a discounted price than the original quote amount and given a warranty for the repairs! I needed an android charger, so Brian threw that in for free. So, let me preface this review by saying that for the past 2 months I've been quarantined with my parents, who were visiting from Asia and for understandable (and obvious) reasons, can't go back. I'm also a 38-year-old single mom. I was raised in a household where the mentality was: if we didn't have to spend money, we wouldn't. It's mainly so you understand that I come from a household where rather than pay to actually fix things, my parents devised workarounds, aka little tricks to make shit work until they absolutely, positively had no choice but to either get it fixed or replaced. You have a busted charger? Use mine! Or the other 10 that we somehow acquired over the years, some of which don't work unless you wiggle or hold it in place! You can't hear audio unless I go on speaker? Well, then all our conversations will just be on speaker. As an adult, this has had two profound effects on me. 1) I chose a career in tech and promptly got divorced so that no one could ever tell me what the fuck to do with my money ever again and 2) I cannot stand workarounds. Either I'm gonna pay to get it fixed, or pay for a new one, and after I remove the hard drive, let the kid "Office Space" the old one in the backyard. My money, my choice. Computer World was fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and most of all got my laptop fixed in the same amount of time it took to go to Jamba Juice and come back. Horrible place! Once the owner takes your money he will refuse to refund even if you have given him several MONTHS to do a simple Ipad screen replacement. He does not answer calls when you follow up. The first screen replacement was bulging out and not properly installed. This after having gone in person many times for pick up when it was supposedly fixed and being told the owner was not there and it was locked away. This happened for months!! He took it back again to "repair" it. Again months without answering and when he finally returned it, the screen is now glitching and the home button is broken, so the device is unusable. I contacted him for a refund and he was extended rude. Many other reviews say the same thing. Cheap, shoddy work and aggressive and rude response from the owner. My daughters puppy cracked the screen of her chromebook and you know how much of an issue this is with all schools being on Distance Learning. Anyways, I sent a message to Brian through Yelp. Despite being extreme busy, Brian was very prompt in responding and asked me to come by even though he was very busy. I went to drop off the chromebook and the store is CLEARLY MARKED with distance protocols. Brian was honest and gave me a number of options to fix the chromebook. In the end , the chromebook was fixed and I was extremely happy with Brian's customer service and his knowledge of electronics. I will be coming back. It's nice to support local small businesses.
