My teen daughter is a burgeoning gamer, she came to me and admitted the family computer, an all in one HP PC, "accidentally" fell to the floor while playing a game and the screen was somehow cracked. Naturally I was livid and refused to get it fixed. Fast forward 6 months later to her 8th grade graduation and she did very well. She used the school provided laptop, and is now on her way to high school‍ I looked these guys up on the internet and trusted their service. They were quite efficient, they had a new screen shipped, replaced and installed within the week. They were reasonably priced and provided excellent customer care service. I went to Compuworld looking for a surge protector. The gentleman could have sold me one that was over priced. Instead he was honest with me and told what my problem was for my gaming system shorting out. I ended up purchasing one anyway. Just because they took their time and worked on my computer and Rodney explained what was wrong and fixed it. It's old they could have said just get a new one and not recovered my pictures or documents. When I had problems years ago they fix but sometimes you have to come up to speed. Floppy disks no let it go. I am grateful because now I can add extra storage and back it up. And it was at a reasonable cost. Now back to work read more

Formerly an architect and now a free-lance photographer, I've been using breadbox (custom-built) microcomputers since 1978. Breadbox computers are not the least expensive; however, they give you the biggest bang for the buck, because the internal components are selected to give you the best performance for the type of work you do for the lowest cash outlay. In that time, the computers I've used have been built by a number of different computer system vendors, with varying results. None have come even close in terms of product, service quality and professionalism to the Compuworld shop run by Tae Sin. Tae has a background in computer science. This differentiates him from most if not all of the other shop owners I've done business with, and I believe is the secret to his ability to diagnose problems and make really good suggestions on component issues and selections. I wish I had met him sooner. He and I have discussed internal component selections on many occasions and, no surprise, his recommendations have always produced fast, reliable, boxes at very reasonable cost. In terms of service, in addition to quality, turnaround time from order to delivery has been tops. So for technical knowledge, diagnostic ability, reasonable cost, courteous service, and top results, I don't know any place out there better than that little Compuworld shop on City Avenue. read more

Friendly, knowledgeable folks. Fixed the broken fan in my laptop in a prompt manor. Stuck to their estimate, which was quite reasonable among the ones I obtained by telephone. I asked them to also help the computer run windows and the internet better, which they did for a nominal additional charge. The results were outstanding! If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't EVER give this store your business! I was referred to Compuworld by someone who told me they could fix my Mac. I originally went to the Apple store, but since they don't do data transfer services I had to take it to a third party. My biggest concern was my iPhoto library, containing about 30,000 pictures I've taken over the past 10 years. I didn't want to lose those. I spoke to a man named Tay who told me my motherboard was damaged and that they needed to replace it, but they were able to recover my pictures. When I finally got my computer back, not only were the pictures NOT recovered, but they had replaced my motherboard with another damaged one! On top of this, the guy Tay accused me of being a liar when I brought the computer back and told him the new motherboard was damaged. So now, I've lost all of my pictures and I have to buy a new computer. I'm not going to spend another $490 on a new motherboard. This whole process started August 6th and it is now September 4th. I run my business on that computer and I've lost nearly a month's worth of work since I've been without a computer this whole time. This was an absolute nightmare and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. A word of advice to Tay, get out of this business before you get sued. read more

My Sony Vios died back in 2008, when my son spilled tea on it. I mourned and wore black clothing. It sat in my basement for several years because everybody told me that it would cost less to replace than to repair. My good friend took the dead computer to Dave in 2013. He performed a miracle, and opened up my Vios time capsule. The computer is working as if it were brand new, and all of my old pictures are still there. I was much better looking back in 2008. read more

The folks at this computer repair/refurbishing shop are wonderful! I am not the most computer literate, but my daughter is and they interacted with us both on a level that each of us could understand. They take time to understand the problem and then will call to discuss any other problems that they identify. They are honest and upfront with their pricing.. Their service is fast and professional. I gotta give these guys 5 stars. I had a Toshiba..if you ever made the mistake of buying a toshiba you may know they simply 'shut off' randomly. Google this and you will see there is no fix. It started just after warranty expired..of course. I took it to compuworld..they could not fix it so they offered to send it for a new chip set. This is an expensive repair but not as much as a new MB which was 2x the cost. So..i said ok...Computer comes back after 3 weeks with the same problem. I bring it back...they said they would look at it..but if they cannot fix, i would get a refund. Well..another 4 weeks, and could not be fixed....SO...they found me a new MB! and installed it for the price I paid for the chipset...no extra charge. They may have lost money on me...but they fixed my computer as agreed and were nice about it. I highly recommend Compuworld and the guys there are great. And..dont EVER buy a toshiba product!! read more
