Now, if you want all the dirty details of my cracked slab and water intrusion saga: I had several different foundation/structural companies come out (yes, even the usual suspects in sponsored search results) and look at my foundation over the past few years, and I got vastly different suggestions on what I should do to solve my problem, with a range of very high prices. I was overwhelmed because none of the solutions seemed right to me, and I was worried some would actually end up causing other problems down the road because they went overboard on foundation support, but didn't address drainage. After my first meeting with Eldar, it was clear to me his solution would be the most effective for my problem, which was 99% caused by a lack of drainage around my property. The rest of the problem was caused by a very shallow free-pour foundation on one side of the house (1950s construction), which Eldar and his team uncovered during the excavation process, and supported by making some very solid, high-quality footing extensions, which they waterproofed. Expansive clay soil and a slope behind my house also factored in. I had so much anxiety about hiring a contractor who would take the wrong approach along with all my money that I basically sat on this problem for four years. Bad idea, I know. I'll spare you the details of my insanity every time it rained, but let's just say lots of stress, dozens of shop towels and multiple Quick Dam flood barriers were involved. I was seriously losing my mind with every new crack in my slab and walls. Now that Eldar and his team are done installing deep french drains, waterproofing, footing extensions and a sump pump, I feel such a sense of relief. I'm confident that I'm going to survive this year's anticipated El Niño storms while maintaining my sanity, and I feel so lucky I found The Foundation & Drainage Repair when I did. Krystal, Jesus, and all their staff really provide professional, quality service and care for our yard and irrigation needs. We initially got started with them for a total clear out and clean up of our existing landscape and ended up sticking with them for weekly maintenance services and little projects here and there and have never looked back! Today was another example - I asked Steve if he would just check up on my back sprinklers bc I noticed they didn't run Monday and when he did, he found a HUGE leak in one of our main irrigation pipes! Our house is kind of old and starting to need a lot of repairs so I wasn't completely surprised but the leak was pretty big. We had to turn off all the water to the house and wait for them to get one of their irrigation and plumbing experts over. Richard showed up almost immediately and had us all cleaned up and back in business in no time!! They were overpriced compared to other landscape estimates I received, but we chose their…read morelandscaping services because they offered a year of interest free credit option. We hired them for a full backyard Reno with full wall of ficus trees, full DG backyard with gravel edges, and a wood fence. Everything was going smoothly with scheduling and communication. When the actual work got started, I noticed the DG was not high-quality. It contained a lot of large rocks. Also, they were not digging out enough dirt before laying the DG. I had to bring that up to the foreman and they did dig up some more dirt before laying the DG. When the work was done, a foreman did a quick walk-through with me and I thought everything looked good. We were told not to walk on the wet DG for a day or two. So two days later when I did a better inspection, I started to notice a lot of shotty work. Specifically with the bender board dividing the gravel and I noticed that they used really small nails for the wooden fence. They did come back a month later to fix the DG because there were areas that were "bouncy", as if not enough DG was laid down. They had to dig up big rocks that were preventing the DG from compacting and they laid more DG on some areas. They also tried to fix some bender board problems, but they did a really horrible job. Three months later, some wood planks on our wood fence start curving and popping up. I called the company because our DG and our fence are under a year warranty. Jake asked me to email him with photos and he said he would call back to schedule a day for repair. Since then I have not heard back from them; they have completely ghosted me. I waited a month then I started calling and no one will pick up the phone. I've left messages and I sent text messages to project manager, Amanda, who was great at communication at first, but now has completely ghosted me as well. Meanwhile, we're still paying monthly for this backyard that is falling apart way too quickly. I'm going to just hire someone to fix the fence before it damages further. I would not recommend them again. Completely overpriced for what you get.

He was on site every day, actively involved in digging, grading, and overseeing the entire process. Drainage was a top priority for me, and Juan made sure everything was done right. His team installed a trench drain and carefully graded the area so water flows exactly where it should. He was always responsive, easy to communicate with, and his pricing was very fair. The project took about a week. Day 1: Digging, adding soil, and grading Day 2: Trench drain installation, more hand grading, soil compacting Day 3: Soil compaction and rebar placement Day 4: Concrete pour On pour day, his crew showed up strong, about 10 people on site by 5:30 AM, even during a heat wave. They worked efficiently to stay ahead of the curing process and used an additive in the concrete to prevent rapid water evaporation, so we didn't need to keep watering it afterward. Three days later, they returned to remove the forms, and Juan personally did a final walkthrough to check for any issues or cracks. He is very detail oriented, and his proposal was clear and straightforward with no surprises at all. He also handles concrete demolition and concrete retaining wall work.
