While the sweetness level was fairly restrained, I imagine most of the energy boost comes from the sugar content rather than the caffeine itself. That said, the drink was enjoyable and well-executed. I absolutely love this space, not only are the pastries and drinks great, but the service is also amazing which makes this place worth coning back to again and again. I've visited this con azucar cafe in Sylmar numerous of times since their soft opening! I've tried a little of everything and I'm truly impressed on how they've gotten everything so perfectly done. The coffee flavor itself was good, and I appreciate the added protein. If you usually don't like that protein taste in drinks, they do a pretty good job masking it. My only complaint is that I wish there was more banana flavor. Even with the banana cold foam, the drink barely tasted like banana. I usually love this place but today it was such a miss with the chile verde burrito. I paid almost 10$ for this burrito with door dash. The ingredients were not as advertised at all. It's listed to have pork, rice and beans. It has none of that. It was a small frozen egg burrito with some green chiles. I was in the neighborhood and wanted a coffee so I ordered a Mazapán Latte, I was highly disappointed the coffee was freshly made so the whole coffee was different temperatures even when shaken, warm in the bottom cold on top. Using the straw made me just get big chunks of mazapán not even crushed enough. The color of the coffee was a darker colored not much oatmeal milk. So. excited we now have a Con Azucar Cafe close to home. We finally made it in and had to try the Giant Concha. We went with the pink one and they do have different colors. What a cute little spot! My friend and I came late on a weekend and there was hardly a wait. Parking is pretty standard- there's a lot in the plaza and more parking in the back. My first impression of the place was how cute the decorations were on the inside! I also was told by my friend that they sold the GIANT concha's here. Next time, I'm going to have to get one to share with my whole family and friends! We ordered the matcha dulce de leche I believe, and a banana muffin and dulce de leche croissant. Recently attended a noon mixer with other local business owners. I use to frequent the previous coffee shop over a decade ago despite going to Caruso's which is right next door. It's now under new ownership and at 1st I thought it would be your typical independent coffee shop. It's not. Great service and I wasn't sure what to drink and the employee suggested their cafe de olla. Great taste and tasted like fresh coffee. We also ordered a bag of their mini panecitos and a gingerbread cookie. I was pleasantly surprised when trying these as they were soft and tasted freshly made. Finally a different coffee shop opened up instead of another Starbucks! I came on their soft opening and it was super busy which is awesome to see!! The ambiance is so nice laid back colorful murals and see through grave doors that they do open up to a patio. The service was so friendly the staff was very helpful and gave great recommendations. The food they have a giant concha and a giant coffee or hot coco here. Their grand opening is next week from me posting this which will be Friday the 19th! We also tried the horchata; it was definitely sweet but full of flavor. The matcha horchata was a great balance, though still on the sweeter side if you're sensitive to that. The concha pan was everything--soft, airy, light, and absolutely fantastic. The ambiance is so cute and welcoming, and I'm genuinely happy to have this spot in our community. So glad these guys are finally open. They have a lot of great drink options and food. The parking is a little scarce but they have a sign that says there's parking in the back. I ordered the chocomil shake and a cafe de olla with a churro croissant. The cashier recommended that pastry. She was right, it was delish. Then hubby got an iced americano. It was good. I like that they have a kiosk and clean restroom and dining area. The staff were friendly and helpful and they have a complimentary water station and outdoor dining. I've been here a few times and the staff is amazing. Jasmine is extremely personable, the staff is nice, easygoing and they always look happy. The strawberry matcha is so good if you're not much of a coffee person. The conchas are soo good! Take me back to my childhood. And the vibes are just amazing. drinks are delicious! so far have had: -Spanish latte (hot; so far my favorite) -cold brew with banana cold foam -dulce de leche (hot; was recommended half sweetness level, but should have kept it as is, didn't have much flavor to it) -horchata latte (iced) -mazapan matcha (iced; not a fan of matcha but this combo, wow!) -shaken brown sugar espresso (a sip of this one, and was pretty good) I love when they have decals on the foam, makes it cute and fun! Very disappointed. We drove all the way from Santa Clarita to try this place. We stood in line to place an order, but no one came to assist us, so we used the kiosk. The kiosk wouldn't process our payment at first, and it took over 7 minutes to finally work. We waited more than 10 minutes for three drinks. When our drinks were called, my husband's horchata frappe was watery. Two drinks were ready, and the third was made afterward. I ordered a mazapán frappe with coffee and paid extra for oat milk. I watched it being made, and she used almond milk instead (which I don't like) and added peanut butter instead of actual mazapán. When I asked if she used oat milk, she said I had ordered almond milk. I showed her the sticker confirming oat milk, and she said she could remake it--but offered no apology, only explaining she confused it with a previous order. The bigger issue for me was the overall vibe. It felt like it was trying hard to capture a Latino-inspired aesthetic, but came across more staged than genuine. The decor had all the visual elements, yet it didn't quite deliver the warmth or sense of personality I was hoping for. One detail that stood out was a smiling, AI-generated Frida-style portrait, which felt a bit off-putting and out of place in the space. It added to the sense that the atmosphere leaned more toward curated visuals. AI is used quite a bit in the restaurant and on the delivery platforms as well. Just on a personal note, these are opportunities that could have been outsourced to the community. It is also what makes the latino community amazing.
