The line was out the door and moving slowly, but once you ordered, the drinks came out fast. I didn't try any of the food, but the hot sweet latte both looked great and tasted just as good. The place was pretty packed for a Monday afternoon, with lots of people ordering iced coffees and even grabbing multiple drinks to go (4-6 at a time). Parking is limited right in front, but you can usually find spots around the corner on the street.
First time at this House Roots Coffee location on Granada Hills as we frequent the Northridge location. Glad we were able to find parking to finally try it out. Tried to stop by before but we couldn't find parking. We got lucky this time around. Great customer service at House Roots Coffee. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the young man at the counter. Several high stools and tables for seating. During this visit we ordered the Mocha Latte and Autumn Spice Latte. Enjoyed my Mocha Latte as you can taste the espresso and mocha flavor. It was a really good blend. The Autumn Spice Latte was also good. It has a bit of a cinammon taste to it and just the right amount of foam. We can't wait to come back to try other coffee items on House Roots Coffee, Granada Hills location.
Visited House Roots Coffee on a Sunday morning and it was packed; line way out the door! Although long, the line moved very quickly and we did not have to wait very long at all between ordering and getting our food. If visiting on Sunday, definitely get there early because when we ordered around 9:30am, the pastry shelf was pretty wiped out. The baguette was very good, but having butter and/or jam as an option would have made it even better. No vanilla syrup here for lattes! Their Sweet Latte was recommended to us instead, which uses agave instead of any syrups. The breakfast burritos are a major hit here. They do come pre-made, so unfortunately no substitutions are able to be accommodated (bummer for the vegetarians and dairy-free folk like myself). Beware of the ghost pepper hot sauce, it is NO JOKE! Lastly - I hope they update their online menu, and QR code outside, to reflect an accurate menu. We also tried ordering the Veggie Quiche, but was told that item is permanently off the menu.
We sought out a new coffee shop in the area where we were going. House Roots Coffee was our pick and off we went to check them out! Cool, little spot but the parking lot is tiny and narrow. Difficult to find a spot, and difficult to maneuver the lot in general. Staff was unsmiling and simply doing their jobs. No warm and fuzzy customer service was offered. Nothing rude, but not welcoming. The iced Choconana was good, but slight on flavor. And the banana was minimal. The drink tasted more like chocolate milk. The shop offered a lot of branded merch, but it was pricey. And several of the retail items didn't have prices so that made it difficult to know how much the item was. They had a varied selection of baked goods and the yuzu tart we got was a tasty choice! I would definitely go back to House Roots Coffee if I was in the area again.

We tried a salty chocolate chip cookie, a ham and cheese croissant, and a pork burrito--the burrito was especially delicious, and we really loved the chili sauce that came with it. The coffee was excellent too. We wanted to buy a bottle of their homemade chili sauce to take home, but the line was just too long!

I ordered the salted butterscotch latte, the seasonal coco mac matcha latte, and the pulled chicken burrito. The coco mac matcha was my favorite! Super well-balanced, especially with less sweetness, and you can really taste both the matcha and coconut. The salted butterscotch latte was also great, a bit on the sweeter side but still lets the espresso come through. Drinks came out really fast, which was a plus, while the burrito took a little longer but was definitely worth the wait! Flavorful with a slight kick. Definitely would come back!
Came here with my friend to study. Never been and wanted to try their coffee too and so I got their butterscotch cold brew which was pretty good! Never had a candy coffee before which I actually enjoyed! The place is nice and quaint it's got cool cozy area to sit and do work, study or enjoy coffee. They also have a food menu too which was pretty cool! Most coffee places you smell the coffee beans in the air as it brews here you smell both if not the food the most which is awesome! They have some cool merch for sale for people to enjoy too! I think overall this place gets a 5 star from me!
Located in a small shopping center. The café is small and cozy. The parking lot can be tricky to find a spot but just be patient. They have a good variety of drinks on the menu, coffee, plastic, and some cool specialty coffee drinks. I've had a sweet latte before and even though it says sweet in the name, it's not too sweet today. I tried the salted butterscotch latte and this one wasn't too sweet as well. The coffee/espresso really shines in these drinks. Their display was loaded with nice variety of baked goods- ranging from sweet to savory. They also have some breakfast burritos on their venue with an Asian twist. I haven't tried any, but they do look tasty. This is a solid coffee shop and with three located in the valley you may find yourself near one. They have a really cool T-shirt too, $50 if you want it.

I ordered the peppermint mocha latte with oat milk and less sweet, along with the ceremonial matcha latte. The peppermint mocha was really well done. The mint bits on top added to the seasonal vibe, and the sweetness level was perfect and balanced nicely with the coffee. The matcha was decent, but not as strong as I was hoping for, though I did like that they offer a lot of substitution options. The inside space is pretty small, and since I came with a group of six, it felt a bit cramped. Overall, the matcha was okay but the seasonal drinks definitely stood out, its just better for smaller groups or takeout.

Perfect spot to grab coffee and catch up with a friend in the morning. This is their OG location, and you can really feel the small business charm the moment you walk in. Parking right in front of the cafe can be a little tricky, but it's the SFV -- if you don't mind a short walk, you'll eventually find a spot. It was my first time visiting, and my friend actually recommended this place for an early Memorial Day morning meetup. Definitely a great choice. Customer service was amazing! There's something special about being greeted with a friendly smile and positive energy before your first sip of caffeine, and this place absolutely delivers. Prices were very reasonable. I ordered the cortado paired with a ham and cheese croissant (not reheated), and wow... chef's kiss. The croissant was flaky, buttery, and perfect with the coffee. I also heard they recently opened a second location closer to me in Northridge, which is dangerous news for my wallet. Safe to say, I'm officially a fan and will definitely be back regularly. read more

I finally got to try this spot and I honestly love it. I got the Choco Nana latte with oat milk and it was so delicious perfectly sweet. I also seen they had a few food options I will have to try next time. This location itself is fairly small, doesn't really seem work friendly unless there's little to no one there. The one downside to this place is the parking! There's little to no parking because they share space with other businesses and there's no street parking. read more

The choconana pudding was a very light and flavorful treat. I tried the Einspanner Dream which was delicious, not too sweet. Overall the coffee quality was good, the service was nice and the place was clean. Nice stop for a mid day coffee. read more

The OG house roots! Been coming here for years & love it as a Granada Hills native. Love the yummy danishes & service is always quick here. However there's not many places to sit & it can feel a bit crowded at times. Still happy to have it around tho! read more

Great coffee and friendly, efficient service. The shop is small, so there was a line outside, but it moved quickly. The branded coffee bags were a standout. My relatives are Honduran, so it was especially meaningful to see such beautiful designs showcasing coffee from the region. read more

I stopped by for a quick drink and snack. It was busy inside with people on computers and enjoying their drinks. I ordered an Iced matcha latte and they offer a variety of milk options to choose from. I also ordered an almond yuzu croissant & tomato pesto danish. The almond yuzu croissant was so tasty with the yuzu citrus flavor mixed in to the almond paste inside. The flavor was able to stand out and not be overpowered by almond. incredible coffee shop. My new favorite honestly. Every pastry is delicious. Every iced latte I've had has been just perfect. Love the chill atmosphere. The staff are all super friendly. Just the perfect coffee shop. Wish I lived closer but it's worth the drive. Just love this place. Oh I will say one negative thing that doesn't really affect the score but it's something to note, the parking lot is sus as hell. Feels awful to park in this tight lot but it is what it is. I am glad we got to check out this spot! The parking lot for this cafe is small and even with parking spots in the back, we were unfortunately unable to get a spot. We had to park down the street which thankfully wasn't too bad. Coming inside, the interior is small but we enjoyed how lively the place. We liked the music playing and the barista was kind and friendly. The drinks came out quickly and we both enjoyed the drinks we got: the Nitro Oat Matcha Iced and the Iced Chai Latte with Oat milk. I found the prices to be very reasonable! I believe the cups given are all the same size, being 16 ounces. I am excited to try out other drinks from the menu because these drinks were yummy! Definitely a great experience here, it gets very busy but the staff keep it going well. Also just have to note that the desk spaces are more on the smaller side too if you plan to bring laptops! Some people put their laptop on the bar counter so that works too!! AC was ON and keeping us all cool inside! Free wifi with password is shown and displayed! read more
We LOVE House Roots. My favorite is the salted butterscotch latte but I also get a plain latte here just because their espresso is amazing. The service here is always so nice and although the space is tight there are some tables and chairs at the counter to do work at. There are also some casual benches. The parking is kind of tight but you can also always find parking on the street! read more

Made a pit stop at House Roots Coffee for an Iced Latte, and finding parking in this small plaza was a tad difficult. Thankfully, there was some street parking, and as an LA native, I'm no stranger to that! Service here was great, and so was the atmosphere and work environment, though a little on the dimmer end. Whether sitting at the tables or at the bar, the tables were clean, and Wi-Fi was fast - readily available. I have to admit, though, the beans here are on the bolder, bitter end. Maybe I came at a later part of the day or had a bad cup, but it was not too enjoyable. Would I return? Possibly; I think this is a place worth another try! read more

I made the apparently outrageous request of asking for less ice in my iced matcha latte. Instead of, you know, adding more milk, they simply handed me a cup that was about 60% full. At this shop, "less ice" clearly means "less drink." Fascinating business strategy-charge full price, deliver partial beverage. The empty space at the top really lets you reflect on your life choices while holding your underfilled $7.50 cup. When I asked for extra oatmilk (that I paid $0.75 cents for), they offered to remake the drink. To what, the same thing? Haha. Coffee was fine. Service was a masterclass in minimal effort. Next time I'll just order a cup of ice, seems like that's what they specialize in. read more

Nice spot, I happened to be in the area and curiosity got me because I saw a long line. If I'm local, not working and/or have nothing planned then Im for sure going! I got an Americano, lavender latte, matcha tea and chocolate chip cookie. Cool spot, coffee was solid and cookie was great! I went on a Saturday and took me 20-25 minutes, so a PSA for those in a rush. read more

I got there around 2:15pm today and was lucky enough to find parking right in front! My interaction with the cashier was fine--nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. The interior is very cute, and since it wasn't busy, my drink came out quickly. I ordered an iced matcha sweet latte, and it was so creamy and delicious! I'd definitely come back to try their pastries. Just keep in mind--parking can be tricky. read more

Yes, as long as they haven't sold out. The scones are delicious and made in house.
