These in my opinion are the best popusas in town. The flavor is very good. And the thing that I love most is that they are not greasy. The texture is perfect! Soft and fluffy! My favorite ones are queso and chicharron. Of course, I think they are all delicious, they have many others to choose from. I also tried their Salvadoran horchata, and I personally was not a fan. It has a strong sesame aftertaste. Guess I'll go with my usual coke next time. Service has always been great! These popusas are made to order and good things take time. So just be patient. Really wanted to support a small business but after I got sick I had to put this review. Ordered a shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were raw. I didn't check when I went in for the first bite, but as I ate it, something didn't seem right. When I start looking through the coctel, that's when I noticed. I even asked the lady who seemed to be the one in charge if they were cooked and she said yes, but it was very obvious they were not. I let her know that I wanted to make sure because my toddler was with me in case she was going to have some, and she still insisted that they were cooked. We were in the mood for something doughy and cheesy, conveniently located, this restaurant was right at the intersection so we decided on pupusas. The place was jumpin, a few tables occupied, and people coming into order non stop. After 20 minutes of me placing my order in person we were served. Food: We ordered four pupusas. $3.65 each. The menu had over forty options to choose from, just for the pupusas, I didn't even look at the other part of the menu. Initially I was super excited, they had all sorts of veggies, meats, and seafood to add to the queso. I got the pineapple and cheese, revueltos con todo, squash and cheese, and yam and cheese. Unfortunately the flavors were drowned out and overpowered by the cheese. I was really looking forward to the pineapple one. I wanted to bite into an equal shared bit of sweet pineapple and cheese. If the cook is able to tone down the cheese, this would be an easy 4 stars. It was all tasty, but it all tasted the same. It has potential. For the price, I can still get a $3 pupusa off a street vendor by Macarthur Park. Customer Service: The young person at the register was calm and sweet. She had the phone ringing non stop and was also the one serving the food. She held it together very nicely. Verdict: I would go back only if we were washing our car in the area. Just started going here within the last year!! Super yummy pupusas! I love that they have a whole vegetarian menu of pupusa options! The beans and cheese are my favs but I can't wait to try more. What happened??? This place used to be really good. I hadn't come physically in years and only ordered takeout a few times so I am not sure if it changed ownership but it seems like a stripped down version inside of what it used to be. It used to have more color and decor. The food also changed, my husband and I loved the casamiento from here and what we received recently was incredibly dry and seemed either old or reheated more than once. Super disappointing. When the waitress asked how the food was and I shared about the casamiento, she may as well not have asked because there was really no reaction. I felt sad because this place used to be so good overall. The plantains were pretty bad too and they gave me one tiny sliver for my dish. The pupusas were ok but either I'd order takeout just for that in the future or go somewhere else. read more

Today, I ordered 4 revueltas con todo (pork, beans and cheese) as well as nuegados, and atol de elote. It cost $27.92 total. PUPUSA REVIEW: The filling was generous, the flavor was excellent, and this pupusa was not greasy (the best!). Also, they have 50 different options for the filling which is something I do not normally see (there are vegetarian and vegan options). NUEGADOS DE YUCA: They come with three good sized pieces and the sugary sauce (panela honey?) was more than enough for these desserts. ATOL DE ELOTE: The sweet corn drink was surprisingly very liquidy. Normally, I have had this type of drink as a thicker substance, but this atol de elote was much thinner and liquidy. DINE-IN: The biggest negative was the dine-in experience. There is graffiti on the window and you can tell not a lot of attention is placed on maintenance (at least appearance-wise). When we entered restaurant it was pretty quiet (almost uncomfortably so), the tables were arranged in a strange way (there was a big gap in the middle), and there wasn't too much life on the walls either (some art pieces but pretty bare). A man (I assume the owner) was chilling on one of these tables and called out for Oscar to come and take our order. There is no physical menu, but they have business cards with a QR code (so if you don't have a phone, I would suggest to look online before coming). The seating felt a little unclean and since it's a small space and very open I felt like it was easy to watch our every move. SERVICE: The negative reviews said that they have very slow service, but that was not our experience. We waited maybe about 20 minutes for all of our food to come out, which I think is normal for most restaurants. My mom lives walking distance from this place so when I visit we usually walk here for Pupusas and horchata. This place is a hit or miss depending on the cook for the day. Sometimes they're so tasty and sometimes they're just super greasy and if you get a revuelta all you can really taste is the beans. Then that other family got their food (including pupusas) while my son is already impatient about waiting over 35 mins and still no food. I walked out. This happened to me twice.
