It's Cinco de Mayo and we decided to stop in. We were greeted as we walked in. This is a QR code menu restaurant. This a family ran restaurant. I enjoyed a Pepita Salmon salad with a margarita. My friend enjoyed the Tasajo plate with black beans and grilled vegetables. There is indoor as well as a patio dining area. I received a nice portion of food. My margarita.was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I came here for dinner in mid January and had a wonderful meal. We eat very early and came in around 5 pm. There was no one in the restaurant but the chef greeted us and told us to sit anywhere we liked. The restaurant's ambiance is very colorful and traditionally Mexican, it does feel like you're in Oaxaca when you're sitting in here. The menu is extensive and there are plenty of options for carnivores and vegetarians. I didn't see many vegan options but I think there were a few (ie. vegetable fajitas). My husband got the flautas to start and he enjoyed these, but I didn't get to try them as I was avoiding gluten. He got the pork fajitas and I got the mole negro for my main dish. The food was presented quickly. I'm not a fan of fajitas, but my husband enjoyed his meal. My mole negro was very good--flavorsome and delicious. The mole was smoky and so good. It was a filling dish and I only finished half of it. Would recommend and am looking forward to returning.

4++ this place has neighborhood gem written all over it. Small little restaurant along Washington Boulevard and Culver City.. I've been meaning to come here for a little while. I walked in and was seated right away by a friendly person who took my order, not long after that. I came here for the Burrito Mojado Ranchero. It's delicious sizable burrito with Carne Asada smothered with their red ranchero sauce. The burrito alone is quite the meal. I also ordered the tamarind aqua fresca to wash it down. Very refreshing. Overall, I'm a big fan of this place. I'm a big fan of the small family run neighborhood type restaurants in this place is a prime example. I found metered parking easily nearby on a weekday night.

Amazing red mole at Ek Valley! Our party of 5 was quickly seated on a Monday afternoon. The outdoor seating was very spacious and very aesthetically pleasing, with all the colors. The extensive set of umbrellas and shades also kept us in the shade. Since they were closed for 12 days prior to our visit, they didn't have some menu items such as the mole negro and the chile relleno. However, the waitress was awesome and gave us excellent recommendations for alternatives. I got the tamarind agua fresca and the red mole with chicken thigh. The tamarind agua fresca was refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. The red mole is so flavorful, and chicken thigh very tender. I couldn't get enough of the mole on my plate. I also tried the grilled veggie quesadilla, which had a unique smoky flavor. I was very impressed by it. Overall, 5/5, will be back if I'm in LA!

Great service and tasty food! I got the chilaquiles. They're know. For Oxacan food so I want to try their more traditional food next time, like mole. Very pretty seating area. Feels like you're in CDMX.

This place a pretty cool. The food looks amazing and it has good flavor. But it is a bit too expensive for mole. I don't think I'll be coming back. Service was good. They were friends and brought the food quickly. I had the wet burrito de asada. It was tasty. The enchiladas verdes were ok. Nothing stood out. It might be that I am not a big fan of mole but I brought my mom and aunt and they were not impressed.

The restaurant was decorated for the Fourth of July, creating a festive atmosphere, and everything from the décor to the aromas felt genuine and welcoming. The staff was attentive, personable, and made the experience even better. I ordered a chicken and steak burrito with rice, beans, and cheese, and it was outstanding. My only gripe is that the prices continue to rise and the chips and salsa are only free for the first basket, which really takes away the appeal of a local family style Mexican restaurant. My fav burrito is now $20, and while the burrito itself is large, it's a high price to pay for just a burrito with no sides. I think if the chips and salsa were still unlimited the increase in food prices wouldn't be such a hit as well. Their drinks are always great I just wish they had happy hour since the prices really are up there with other new and modern restaurants with no fun deals or unlimited chips and salsa like many other family style places. Their servers are kind and attentive and there's not a crazy amount of tables so there tends to be a wait no matter the time of day. Also parking can be hard to find as it's basically located inside a neighborhood.

The nopalito salad was good, but on the smaller side. Maybe good for 1-2 people. All the food was good! Shared the "taste of Oaxaca" plate with a friend, which was good but maybe not the best thing to share since you had to slice up the protein, etc. Lots of mezcal cocktails - I ordered the Chido Wey and really enjoyed it. Did not like the Al Chile! as much. Very sweet and not much spice. The service was a little slow sometimes. He came by to ask about dessert and we said we needed a few minutes and then he never came back. We ended up having to get up to ask for our check. There is limited street parking. You park at this coin laundry place down the street around the corner on Motor Ave. after 4pm. There is a person monitoring the parking. You bring your receipt as proof.

It's a nice spot with a good vibe, but the experience didn't fully live up to expectations. The biggest letdown was the happy hour drinks. The mixed cocktails tasted pretty watered down, which was disappointing, especially when you're expecting bold flavors at a mezcal-focused spot. Not a terrible experience, but there's definitely room for improvement, especially on the drink side.

We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal.
