We had a horrible experience with the owner "Maria" (her real name is Daisy btw). She is so unprofessional and thinks she can treat customers like garbage just bc she's the owner. There was no need in treating us the way she did. She needs training in customer service. Arrogant and argumentative all because of the seating area and saying our group wasn't consuming. We were waiting for the rest of our party to get there to continue to order, which I had already ordered 2 drinks and a platter in the meantime. My husband and I found this absolutely quaint Mexican restaurant by accident. While using our Maps in CarPlay, we looked at the restaurant suggestions near us. I looked them up in Yelp and decided to try it out and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious, the milieu was relaxing, and the service was great. We one thousand percent recommend it. The food tastes homemade, it just doesn't get more authentic than that. I had the Sopes and they were by far the best I've ever had. Their Sope itself was soft but lightly crisp on the outside. My husband had the Enchiladas de Mole and the face he made when he took his first bite was priceless. I could tell it took him back to his younger days. We love their cheese enchiladas, crispy tacos, quesadillas, and carnitas tamale. I've also had the chili verde, carnitas, and wet burrito. They are all solid, as are the chips and guacamole (and salsas). The place feels like a hidden gem. Wow, can't believe I didn't know about this place! I live only two minutes away, but I never noticed this restaurant before. Apparently, it's been around for 17 years already... Really loved the atmosphere, and how super clean it was inside. Seating was very comfortable and the service was fast and attentive. The food is even better, and extremely authentic. (I lived in Mexico for two years so I know what REAL Mexican food is like...) They have the standard fare -- like Burritos and Tacos -- but they also have dishes you might not find on a typical Mexican menu. Ok ok so one of my favorite things to order at a Mexican restaurant are sopes they're these little small fried masa bowls topped with beans your choice of meat, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cheese. Here at El Rio Bravo I have found my favorite ones! Their sope is not so thick so it gets a beautiful little crunch on the exterior they don't over do it with the beans and the meat has so much flavor. I ordered the appetizer which comes with 3 sopes 2 carnitas and 1 carne asada. The spot is very hidden and it has a very small parking lot for 2 cars and 1 handicap spot I believe there is street parking. This hidden little spot when entering your greeted by the host which has incredible customer service. The inside is nice nothing extravagant I really enjoy that the lights are fairly dim and they have big windows which depend a lot on natural lighting. I have yet to try more of the menu but with my experience yesterday I can say that this place gets a 10/10 for me just because the sopes were amazing. I would say give it a try! Enjoy a sope! I've been debating whether or not to post this because despite my being a regular customer, this place clearly doesn't give a shit about even trying to maintain decent customer service, and all I've done is pick up. So much for that. I've been ordering the same dish for a while now and when I popped in to pick up an order one afternoon last week, there was no one at the counter so I rang the bell. This girl walks in from the back and asks if I'm picking up and I'm like yeah. I can see my food on the counter. I see her then turn to someone in the kitchen and say something in Spanish as she rolls her eyes and I suddenly realize that she's probably talking about me. How professional of her to treat a regular like that. When she handed over the food, she may as well have thrown it at me because she was so bitter, lol. When I ordered the same dish two weeks ago, they missed the sauce on one of the three enchiladas dishes. I even tipped for that pickup order only to get an incomplete order. I didn't bring this up because it was said and done with but honestly, it's hard to glaze over and try to be sympathetic when this place has a general attitude problem. I don't mind the food mistakes but the attitude is enough to taint everything, which is a silly mistake to make with your customers. Guess I'm not the only one because if you filter reviews by newest first, you'll see mention of crappy customer service. In light of that, the food really is mediocre and they do nothing to keep the crispy tacos from being mush within 10-15 mins in the container. I'm done with you, Rio Bravo.
