it was amazing service and the food was delicious. My date had the spinach enchiladas. I had the fish enchiladas definitely going back back. It was a to go order but next time I wouldn't mind sitting there and enjoying myself for a while while.

My husband and I found this absolutely quaint Mexican restaurant by accident. While using our Maps in CarPlay, we looked at the restaurant suggestions near us. I looked them up in Yelp and decided to try it out and we are so glad we did. The food was delicious, the milieu was relaxing, and the service was great. We one thousand percent recommend it. The food tastes homemade, it just doesn't get more authentic than that. I had the Sopes and they were by far the best I've ever had. Their Sope itself was soft but lightly crisp on the outside. My husband had the Enchiladas de Mole and the face he made when he took his first bite was priceless. I could tell it took him back to his younger days. This will be our new go to spot whenever we're in the area.

Nachos with Beef

As usual the Nachos (my favorite) were wonderful. Delicious bean bottom, generous fresh, not greasy nachos delicious and plenty of beef and loaded with cheese and topped with guacamole, sour cream and chilies on the side. Delivery was quick and respectful. I've been a loyal customer for years and really enjoy the food , the vibe and the exceptionally kind lady at the entrance. Thanks you very much

Delivery of delicious fresh Mexican food! I have ordered from this restaurant before but it was early last year. It is making my home smell so great. The chips are Guacamole are so fresh! My FLAUTOS PLATE looks so delicious and these CHICKEN TACOS yummy!! They added an assortment of hot sauces and I am ready to dive in!!

Stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant while getting my car fixed. Absolutely delicious authentic Mexican food. The service was top notch as well. Really relaxing atmosphere with nice music.

Carnitas

I wanted street tacos, they said, Let's go here!" I ordered the carnitas...they were just ok, not crispy shreds like I am familiar and hung up on. The pork was served in chunks. Ive definitely had more authentic tacos. Not bad, but ok. My dining companions loved their combination meals consisting of burritos, tamales, enchiladas, rice and beans. The portions are large, everyone brought home some for later. Bottom line, Not bad, but more i like a more traditional offering

Kalaveras Marina del Rey continues to be one of my favorite Taco Tuesday spots. We've been here…read moretwice in the last couple of weeks, and every visit reminds me why it stays so busy. Taco Tuesday is always packed, but the staff does an impressive job keeping things moving. The process is simple--you get your ticket and the team serving the tacos does most of the heavy lifting. Even with the crowds, service has consistently been fast, efficient, and attentive. The food is very good, and the energy is always lively. My most recent visit was no different. Everything ran smoothly, the tacos were great, and our servers stayed on top of things throughout the meal. The only odd part of the evening happened as we were getting ready to leave. I stopped by the bar and asked the bartender for a cup of ice. He acknowledged me but never came back with it. While I was waiting, another guest next to me mentioned he was also having trouble getting service at the bar, while other customers appeared to be getting helped. I don't know the circumstances and don't want to make assumptions about why that happened, but it definitely felt strange. After waiting several minutes, I went back to my original server and she had the ice for me in about a minute, which reinforced my overall impression that the service team is generally very attentive. I don't like pretentious bartenders and I know their job is busy as heck. That again felt weird. Despite that one awkward interaction, the overall experience was excellent. Great tacos, a fun atmosphere, and a staff that usually does a fantastic job handling the Taco Tuesday rush. I'll definitely be back.

When that question comes up, one of my absolute favorite Mexican cuisine spots to recommend is Javier's. It's one of those places that consistently delivers a great experience every time I go. The ambience at Javier's is perfect whether you're planning a date night or just an evening out with your family. It has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to sit back and enjoy your time there. On top of that, the drinks always hit the spot and pair really well with the food, making the whole dining experience feel complete and well thought out. My go-to dish has to be the seafood enchiladas. You really can't go wrong with any of the options, but those stand out every time. The texture of the enchiladas is spot on, and the salsa complements the dish perfectly without overpowering it. Every bite feels balanced and flavorful, and it's one of those meals you find yourself craving again soon after. I also always make sure to grab the guacamole because, honestly, who doesn't love chips and guac? What I really appreciate is that this guac is different from the typical versions you find elsewhere--it has a freshness and flavor that really sets it apart. It's simple, but done at a high level, and it pairs perfectly with everything else on the table. The service at Javier's is always high-quality, and that's a big reason I keep coming back. The staff is attentive, friendly, and makes the whole experience even better. I still find myself wanting to try new items on the menu because every visit has been such a great experience so far, and I'm excited to see what I discover next.

The first bite gives you that textbook contrast chefs chase: a thin, savory Maillard snap, then cool, silky flesh that still tastes of the sea rather than smoke, which tells me it was hit hard over heat to render the skin and pulled off at the precise moment before the proteins tightened. Grilled lemon halves, their edges caramelized, are doing real work here--squeezes of that charred citrus cut through the fish's natural oiliness--while the thin ribbons of pickled red onion and peppery microgreens supply the bright, acidic punctuation that keeps the palate moving. Slices of avocado act as a soft, creamy foil, lengthening the finish without smothering the fish, and the halved cherry‑tomato salad looks lightly dressed so you get clean sweetness and a crisp counterpoint rather than a soggy, overdressed side. From a technical standpoint I appreciate the fundamentals: even scoring or oiling of the skin to prevent sticking, careful timing so the flakes separate cleanly, and a sparing hand with seasoning so the brine of the fish isn't lost under salt or heavy sauces. Many places feel compelled to gild seafood with every trendy condiment; here, the restraint is refreshing and, frankly, rarer than it should be. Service matched the cooking: friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to steer us through the menu with solid recommendations, which matters when a kitchen is doing delicious things well. The restaurant itself is calm and clean, a peaceful setting with a bar that lets the food speak, and last time I was there they were in the process of securing a beer and wine license--good news, because this kind of balanced, grill‑forward cooking benefits from a thoughtful pour. In short, this meal stands out because it trusts the ingredient: confident grilling, smart acid, and honest accompaniments that clarify rather than compete, leaving you satisfied and already thinking about the next visit. As for the house-made salsa: stainless ramekins on a white plate, each with its own tiny spoon - bright yellow emulsion, lacquered dark reduction, smoky-red chile purée, and a chunky herb relish. The emulsion is silky and tangy, perfect for cutting fat; the dark sauce is sticky, umami-forward and built to cling; the red one carries smoke on oil and is medium-hot; the relish snaps with fresh acid and crunch. Important heads-up: one of these is a ghost-pepper style salsa - extremely spicy, slow-building and long-lingering, so use it as a finish, not a dunk. Execution is tidy: no broken emulsion, measured viscosities, portioned so flavors don't bleed - practical, disciplined work. In an era of one-trick "house sauce" laziness, this quartet gives you tools, not excuses, and it elevates whatever's on the grill without stealing the show. I'll definitely be back here!

Mango habanero hot sauce takes the ceviche up a notch with its tropical flavor. Grilled Kanpachi taco is my favorite of all the tacos. Fish is grilled with care, well preserving the moisture and natural sweetness. Had to get a second grilled kanpachi taco after devouring 4 different tacos already. Rib eye taco is quite amazing too. Love the satisfaction from a well grilled fatty steak. The rib eye itself is sliced to thin pieces but I still get the sensation of biting into chunks of meat. Love the idea that the seasoning is competed with pickled onions and salsa as opposed to just seasoning the meat Baja fish and shrimp are more forgetful. Would come again for the tacos absolutely.
