    Yucca and chicharron and pupusas.

Used to live in Long Beach and now live in San Diego. For many years every time I am in Los Angeles, Gloria's is one of my must go to. Food is awesome and consistent which is great. We start with pupusas and end with carne adobada. And dessert is always the plantains. Service is always great.

I used to come here years ago when I lived a bit father west. Not I've moved really close to it and have not been much. Ordered the Tampiqueña but doing the asada to be very small. It felt disproportionate to the price of $26. Everything else I order was good and seemed worth the price.

Some of the best food I've had in a while in the most unassuming strip mall. The restaurant is very casual with lots of take out orders but a good amount of seating in their small restaurant. I had the chicken steak which was very good; the beans it came with were also really tasty. The real star of the show was the pupusa which was one of the best I'd ever had. Would recommend!

I live a block away and it took me about a year to stop in. I've missed out so much! I searched Yelp looking for a un plato de pescado and there are several on the menu. House Special Pescado in a garlic sauce sounded like a winner. Definitely the protein I wanted. I think I'll try the Seven Seas Soup with Fish, Shrimp, Crab Legs, Octopus, Calamari, and Scallops later this week!

I once knew a woman named Gloria. She was a terrible cook. So I was hoping for the best coming here. After going inside, it turns out Gloria must be from El Salvador. The vibe totally feels South America. I went for the pupusas...revuelta and spinach & cheese. Yum! Tasty. I recommend throwing the curtido on top and pour all the sauce over everything. Enjoy.

Tajin-rimmed margarita...you can't see my food because it was so good I'd already eaten half of it before it occurred to me to snap a pic!

The service was very friendly & walked the perfect balance of letting us be to chat & catch up with our friend group while still checking in on us. The vibe is definitely cute li'l hole-in-the-wall spot. The chicken tostada was yummy, very fresh, & frankly HUGE for something listed under the appetizer section! And the tajin-rimmed margarita was a tasty little treat. I'm very glad we stumbled upon this place. I've officially added it to my "tasty approved" list!

Consistently good food and friendly service at Gloria's. I love the garlic shrimp, but they have a variety of Salvadorian dishes on the menu. Cozy atmosphere to enjoy a meal and catch a game on the TV.

When most people think of the City of Angels; they think of glitter, glitz and glamour (well, this is more so through the eyes of tourists - us locals know better).  Although this star studded VIP lifestyle is indeed available - there is also an essence of 'home' and community in the city: mom and pop shops, businesses that feel like family and restaurants/bars that know you by name. The latter is exactly what you will find at Gloria's: a Mexican and Salvadorian eatery/bar in the Culver City adjacent neighborhood of Palms. Gloria's is the epitome of family and this translates to everything from the vibe to the food. Gloria's holds real estate in a small strip plaza on Venice Blvd which means parking can be a nightmare but there is a small lot available directly in front. From the exterior, Gloria's looks like a dive absent of bells and whistles but as we all know too well: dives are usually the best! In fact, Gloria's was featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" hosted by Guy Fieri but quite honestly  - that guy annoys me to no end so it wasn't his frosted tipped hair and backwards sunglasses that introduced me to Gloria's; but my boyfriend who has been singing the praises of this establishment for YEARS. The time came when I finally got to pop my Gloria's cherry and I was welcomed into a small but charming eatery complete with booth and table dining, a bar area with a live fish tank and outdoor patio area. There is something about Gloria's that feels like walking into your Mexican grandma's house with that essence of, "Come eat! Come eat!" Gloria's simple has great energy. I was already sold and I haven't even eaten yet! The menu at Gloria's is a beautiful melding of Mexican and Salvadorian dishes and my boyfriend and I had to start with a couple of pina coladas ($9) and some chips and guacamole to start ($10.95). For our dinner, my boyfriend went with the Chimichanga plate (chimichanga of your choice served with beans and rice - $18.95) while I went with the Enchiladas Suizas (2 enchiladas  - I chose chicken and cheese , topped with green salsa, guac, sour cream served with rice and black beans - $18.45). My satisfaction with Gloria's was on a hot streak because the pina colada was perfection and not light on the alcohol. But the chips and guacamole is where it is at! Holy moly, Gloria's! This is the guacamole of dreams and I could bathe in a tub of it. Well, no, but I could EAT a tub of it! That is some damn good guacamole! If the pina colada and guac were any indication - plus my boyfriend's undying devotion - I knew the plates were going to be mind-blowing and I was not disappointed. First of all, Gloria's does not play in regards to portions as these servings are large and in charge! But the starring role is held by the food itself as Gloria's effortlessly offers at-home style, slow simmered flavors that are both comforting but elevated. My Enchiladas Suizas were PERFECT with ooey gooey cheese and tender chicken. The green sauce was a heavenly chorus accompaniment and there was more of that famous guacamole! Downright excellence on a plate! I had a bite of my boyfriend's large-sized chimichanga and it was equally divine. The amount of south of the border food options in LA is seemingly endless but I am telling you that Gloria's is at the top of the top. I have been thinking about the food non-stop since my dining experience. An insider tip: make sure to ask for a bottle of Gloria's very own habanero hot sauce. I'll take 10! This hot sauce could run every hot sauce company on your grocer's shelves out of business because it is that good.  In case you are wondering if Gloria is real... She is and can often be seen working the floor. Gloria's is the trifecta of family atmosphere, large portions, and amazingly delicious food that will leave you dreaming it about days later. Who needs the glittery upscale version when you can have food that has you feeling at home? But don't take my word for it... or Guy Fieri's or my boyfriend's... run to Gloria's and give them a try.

The service is wonderful. Everyone we encountered was so nice. The food is very good. It's a mix of Mexican and Salvadoran food. Street parking only & it's located on Venice so parking can be tough depending on the time of the day.

This is my favorite local Mexican restaurant and it's not even close. Food and service are as good as it gets. Love love love

This place is a one of the absolute BEST lil spots in Culver/Palms area . Small cute great food and hospitality is just pleasant ! Chicken Avacado salad for health conscious folks ....Pupusas , carnitas ,Tacos soups are all amazing ! Plato Tipico if you love to try different item (Favorite)

Always a treat to come and have a authentic taste of Mexican and Salvadoran food. Everything on the menu will not disappoint. If you're ever in this area of Culver City CA drop in and say hello and enjoy a great meal.

What a wonderful surprise…read more I live just around the corner from Jamaica Bay Inn, and for whatever reason, it took me far too long to finally have dinner here with family and friends. I wish I'd discovered it sooner. The restaurant overlooks Mother's Beach, and the setting is exactly what you'd hope for: peaceful, relaxed, and quintessential Marina del Rey. You almost expect the view to be the highlight... Then the food shows up. For appetizers, we shared the hummus plate and the calamari. Both were excellent. As someone whose kids were practically raised eating seafood around the ports of New England, calamari is one of those deceptively simple dishes we judge pretty harshly. Beachside absolutely passed the test. I ordered the cheeseburger, which was solid, but the real stars of the evening were the roasted Jidori chicken and the jumbo shrimp fettuccine. The chicken was perfectly juicy, something that sounds easy but surprisingly few restaurants consistently get right. The shrimp fettuccine completely stole the show. In fact, it's now become my daughter's regular takeout order, and she's easily the toughest pasta critic in our family. Congratulations... you've officially earned the title of our favorite pasta spot in the Marina. The service was another highlight. Our server spoke both German and Italian, had a great sense of humor, and made the evening feel warm and effortless. Between the location, the food, and the hospitality, I already know this is going to become one of our regular family dinner spots.

We didn't tell him there were any issues, because once the decision was made to stay, why ruin his holiday too? lol Ordered coffee. Dreadful. Ok, no big deal. The food came out and I could immediately SEE The Unappetizing . It's special when you can tell that your food is going to be bad before you take one bite. The French toast was Sahara dry, burned and flavorless. The chicken, was competing with it in the dry and flavorless category-- I really can't say which was worse. I don't really use hot sauce and I drowned the tenders in Cholula just to make it halfway edible. Literally we could have waited for the AMC chicken tenders and they would have been better, which is horrifying. Particularly when you try to avoid fried food in general and now you are poisoning your body for no good reason. Husband ordered a steak and eggs, medium well. I'll attach the picture and I'll let you be the judge of whether or not it was cooked properly. Eggs were not good either. Immediately, I gave hubby more than half my plate because he eats All of Everything that's put in front of him. Something would have to get up and walk off his plate for him to not eat it. He was taught not to waste food, period. The exception was steak so that he could take it home, cook it, and then eat it. This was possibly the worst meal I've ever had, and certainly on a special occasion. The chowder was good but was on the more savory side and the shrimp cocktail was fresh, thick and juicy. The downer for me was the catch of the day. The vegetables and salad were tasty but the fish was very bland and on the tougher side. It came with a mango salsa but I didn't get any of the flavor of salsa. Everything was pretty pricey as well. Overall costed us $100. Originally I wanted the grilled lobster or fresh crab but it didn't seem worth $70 for me. Overall it was a good experience, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way for this restaurant.

This was a Saturday visit, and as mentioned in another review, "this spot is underloved!" Here are my first impressions of Pacific Catch - Santa Monica: 1/Casual and cozy with a bar & patio - nice setup; 2/Impeccable service, as we sat in a booth near the bar and the bartender is quite knowledgeable; 3/Fresh ingredients and wonderful seafood. I had the 3 Taco Lunch - Pacific Catch is flexible allowing you to mix and match: I chose a 3 taco plate with Fish/Shrimp/Steak on corn tortillas, side of black beans, and a salad. Everything was tasty and service was great. Their menu has many other options and pricing will not break the bank. Great proximity to the Santa Monica Pier and Beach! I look forward to going back soon!

It might not be the hippest spot in town, but it does not need to be. It is exceptionally clean, consistent, and always hits the spot. For a seafood restaurant in Santa Monica, the pricing is remarkably reasonable for the quality you get. My family of four went last night for dinner and everything was fantastic. My wife got the sea bass, which was very fresh and cooked perfectly, and I had the salmon sandwich, which was excellent. Both of our kids loved their kids meals too. It is hard to find reliable seafood spots that are family friendly without breaking the bank, but Pacific Catch nails it every time. I wanted to give them a well deserved shout out. We will definitely keep coming back.
