The winery is beautiful and the outside area was a great place to relax, lay on the grass, and take photos with the bushes and plants near the walkway. Six of us, no reservation just walk in on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated outdoor, it's a bit chilly because of the windy weather. We got the reserve flight $30/person. My favorite is the 2022 reserve rose of petite sirah, it is pretty to look at, lovely light pink and the taste is just right for me, not too strong not too sweet. 4 stars because of the limited variety of snacks to pair with the wines and overpriced. Should be the real Concannon marketing message. Considering this has never happened to us in traveling thru real vineyards in the best parts of Italy is LUDICROUS!! Especially when Concannon markets themselves as a "Family Run", "Estate for Everyone to enjoy"?? Their own marketing often emphasizes: * "Family legacy since 1883." * "Picnic grounds and heritage estate for everyone to enjoy." * Large open lawns and a tasting patio where people often bring food, friends, and yes -- kids and dogs. In fact, if you look at Concannon's website and social posts, they: * Encourage visitors to "enjoy a relaxing day on the estate grounds." * Have hosted family-style events (Easter egg hunts, outdoor concerts, seasonal photo sessions). * Explicitly welcome dogs on leashes in outdoor spaces. So, turning away families with kids -- especially without signage or clear policy -- directly conflicts with how they publicly portray themselves. read more

Came here back in October. This place was busy on a Saturday afternoon! Wasn't sure if we would make it here, so we didn't make reservations, but, thankfully, they were able to seat our group of five with the dog. Lots of seating arrangements available depending on what you're going for. They have an outdoor terrace area for reserved wine tasting, wine tasting at the bar, and lawn seating with bottle service. We did the reserve tasting ($25 for 6 tastings), which had a nice mix of whites, rosé, sparkling, and reds. We ended up getting a bottle of their 2018 Reserve Chardonnay and 2017 Reserve Malbec. I can see why Concannon Vineyard is a popular winery to visit in the Livermore Valley with its variety of wines and lovely outdoor area. Even though we didn't, I highly recommend making reservations ahead of time if you plan on stopping by, especially on a weekend! read more

We so enjoyed our last Twilight Tunes. I will miss these weekly music events so much- until next summer. Twilight Tunes was always the high point of my week. I love that we can bring picnics again! Thank you Concannon for allowing this. Our family has food allergies, so it's really difficult to find things we can eat in the cold case. I'm thrilled we can bring our vegan cheese now, and the other foods safe for our family! Concannon definitely has the most beautiful property in our valley. I have loved every visit. The wine was great, the tasting was amazing, and Ilyce was incredible. We definitely want to keep coming back for tastings because we love the wine. The only downside was that they had recently changed their POS and reservations system, so they didn't have ours on hand. Terrible experience. Appalling service. My friend pays for the premium wine club membership. She invited me to visit as I was interested in buying the membership. The pours were miniscule and they couldn't locate a bottle listed on the flight. 30 minutes before they closed, they told us we had to leave at 5:00. We lightheartedly joked asking if 5:05 would be acceptable. In an unexpected exchange that began friendly, the man serving said rudely and sternly that he "decided when his tables are cleared". My friend then asks to order two glasses of wine and add them to the bill. The server said we would "need to chuck them back fast". He returned with two glasses with a quarter fill of wine in each. He said he "adjusted the amount in the glasses to a smaller amount because we couldn't drink them in time" along with the bill for full charges for two glasses. Nightmare cut short, we leave at exactly 5:00 pm. As we get in the car we see and count 6 tables full of relaxed guests, some with feet up, laughing, drinking wine and not one even close to preparing to leave, with children playing on the grass uninterrupted. My girl friend and I had a reservation for 11:30am last Saturday. The check-in process was a little chaotic as they were busy trying to help multiple people at once. When it was our turn, we were told to grab a glass of pre-poured wine from the counter and follow our waiter in to get seated. We were given a table outside which was great since it was nice and sunny that day (although kinda windy!). We both ordered the reserve flight $30 and our waiter explained/described each wine that she brought out. She was very friendly and checked on us often. We never felt rushed at all during our tasting! Overall, this cute little winery is worth a visit if you're in the area. It's reasonably priced and the tasting is comped if you buy a bottle of wine during the same visit. I'd definitely come again in the future and maybe check out the wine trolley! :) read more

When your cousin in law tells you to visit Livermore, you visit Livermore. This was my first time visiting a Livermore winery and I came here with family for a wine tasting. We didn't explore the grounds too much as it was a pretty windy day. The service and the wines we tried were pretty solid. They also had pretty decor in the ceiling of wine bottles. Absolutely wonderful. The gf and her daughter (visiting) with our 2 pooches came in for a tasting. The grounds are lovely, and they tasting room/gift shop is really top-notch. They have a wonderful covered patio, reservations highly recommended. They also have another patio, 200 feet away, no service -- but you can purchase a glass of wine and sit out there. The service we had was fantastic. Super nice, warm, casual, and very welcoming. Best yet, we went for the tasting flight ($25). It included 7 wines, and we got 1 bonus. I came wine tasting with our friends which one of them was a member, we got a private room for the tasting, and David was our sommelier. We tried several amazing wines, you can feel the great quality of the wines. David customer service was outstanding, he explained to us the history of the Concannon Winery and the process of the wines, he was very knowledgeable, and a very pleasant gentleman. We really enjoyed our tasting experience. The winery was beautiful and parking was plentiful. I made a reservation about a week prior to our visit, noting that we had the Priority Wine pass (for 2 for 1 tasting) and a dog (so we needed to be on the terrace). The terrace was specious and had both table and lounge-type seating. Our server was super friendly and the wine pours were great. The $30 per person tasting included generous pours of 7 wines, and I like most of them. We came to concannon today (Sunday) with no reservations but got there within the first hour of opening and were able to sit outside on the terrace for a tasting. Silvia attended us and was great with her knowledge of wines and history. We love that it's dog friendly and that we could bring our own food to the lawn area after the tasting as long as we purchase a bottle. Beautiful ambiance and location. Had a great time with family and will be coming back soon enough. Purchased their final wine of the tasting 2023 crimson and clover which reminded me of the holidays. Also to note they had a trolley come by that is a separate purchase but it will take you to other wineries and you can spend some time hopping around for a fun day of wine tasting. This was my first time to this vineyard and I was not disappointed. A warm welcome by the staff and we were given our choice of seats outside with a view of the grounds. It was cold and breezy so they turned on the outdoor heaters to keep us warm. A light Chardonnay was presented upon sitting and our YELP check-in gave us an upgraded tasting of the eclectic reds. The tastings came on a wood board with the 5 reds in separate containers. We were able to pour our wine shots into our glass at our own pace which was nice. Wines were great with the tasting notes provided. My favorite was the Malbec. Tasting was a bit pricey at $30 each and 3 bottle purchase to wave the tasting fee. The cheapest wine was $32 so a $96 investment was not worth the expensive purchase. The tasting fee is not worth the cost of the wine so I do not plan to return. read more

My friend is a member and invited me to their Sip & Paint event. Unfortunately, she had to bail on me so my husband went with me. Then it turned out I ran into a friend I haven't seen since 2020! I guess I can say I had a great time and call it a day. The event was held in one of the tasting rooms. You have the option to order from the wine menu (bottle or glass?). We got a bottle of Pinot and the paint event is like follow the leader. If you messed up on your painting, it's okay and you can blame it on the wine! We did get a 15 minute break, so you have the option to go next door and pick up snacks and add it to your tab or pay out. You also have the option to order extra wine to take home. Very tempting because what we had was very good! If you do get a chance to visit on a non-event day for wine tasting, the grounds are beautiful and a great opportunity to chill in the Livermore wine country. read more

I want to thank the staff that helped me yesterday in taking care of an order that should have been handled correctly by Darcie Kent's wine bar staff but was not. (read below). Concannon staff went far and beyond assisting me and treating me with respect. I thank the wine manager for making it right and calming my frustration. Below is what happened: First, I'd like to say I love Darci Kent and have been a member for over 10 years, their wines never disappoint. My friend from CT knows this and decided to send me two bottles of wine for Christmas, because I wasn't home and the wine was sent back to the winery, not a big deal, and the wine manager, Kelsea, was kind enough to credit her back the delivery fee. So, I go to the winery tasting room 12/27 about 1:30, walked up the young gentleman and told him why I was there. He looked around his feet and said, sorry there is no wine here for you Okay, I said here is the order number and Kelsea told my friend I could pick it up here. At this point, an African American girl (I believe) looked it up and said my friend was credited, I said for the whole order? Yes. I said that can't be right. The gentleman said, your in the wrong place, there is no Kelsea, you need to go to Concannon. I felt brushed off, especially when I told him I know where I'm at, I've been a member here for years. Nonetheless, they were both less than helpful. I drove to Concannon and spoke with two nice welcoming young ladies, she looked up my order and said, "I see it let me talk to the wine manager and let me get you a glass of wine". The wine manager came out and apologized and said she would take care of my order and that Darcie Kent employees should know who Kelsea is as she's their wine manager. Darcie Kent tasing room employees need to learn from Concannon. Even if I wasn't a member, all customers need to be treated with respect and put some effort into checking into things rather than trying to blow off the customer. Thank You Concannon for setting a good example of what true customer service it. read more

I visited Concannon this week for a tasting with family. Our wine pourer Serafina was underwhelming. While we enjoyed most of what we tried, the service was a let down. She was distracted throughout and didn't seem to know much about what she poured. At one point we were "enchanted" with the suggested pairing of pizza! with their reserve Cab.
