Excellent service from Sharon and still a lovely decor. But the sushi - specifically the salmon - was not fresh. We could not eat it (we could and did eat the tuna and yellowtail) and they took it off our bill. Stick to cooked foods here. The spare ribs are big and meaty. They are back with the same upscale Asian elegance that you would find in a Philadelphia restaurant. They have a bar which is not found in your typical local Asian restaurant in the area. This restaurant needs to be somewhere else in town. The space on the outside truly does not represent how beautiful it is once you step through the doors. There is a big huge bar and lots of seating. Sadly we went mid day and on a Monday so there was not a soul inside. We ordered our food that came with an appetizer or shumai or crab ragoons as well. The service was quick and very friendly as we waited for our food to arrive. The downside was our lackluster main meals. I had ordered the Korean beef and my husband ordered the Mongolian beef and it was literally the same exact dish. I have had both dishes in other places before and neither one of the meals we got resembled what we were served. The food was good, but very greasey and just did not stand out in any way. We would like to come back on a weekend or when they are serving sushi to see if there is a difference, because we live in the area and there truly are limited options for a places to eat. read more

This restaurant should get a bit more recognition as the few Asian restaurant around Trenton that serve delicious, tasty food that cuts across Japanese, Chinese, Thai dishes -- all served among contemporary and classy decor and delivered in a prompt and friendly service. The weekday $9+ lunch specials provide selections from common Chinese dishes such as General Tso's chicken, Korean BBQ bulgogi and Pad Thai. The only drawback is that the Korean BBQ, while deliciously cooked and tastes authentic, is a bit on the salty side -- of course, we could've also chosen sides other than the miso soup if sodium is of concern. The tofu dish is also good, combining tofu cubes with crunchy skin and sweet and sour sauce. The crab rangoon appetizer is also crunchy delicious. I've been here several times for the sushi. The sushi has always been fresh and consistent. On Thursdays, they feature $1 sushi from 5 to 7 pm. Needless to say on Thursdays I eat like it's an AYCE sushi restaurant. The lunch specials are pretty good, too. The biggest downside is the service. I've read a good amount of negative reviews and I can't believe these people are talking about the same restaurant. I'll admit, I've never had anything there other than appetizers, salad, sushi/ sashimi, and desert, but other than the food being a little pricey, I have absolutely no complaints. The few times that I went there, it was for late dinner, so the restaurant was somewhat empty. The service is always superb and the same can be said about the sushi, especially the presentation. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very upscale. It has a very nice layout and furnishings and I love the ambience that it has. Once again, other than the prices being a little high, I have had nothing but great dining experiences at Concerto Fusion. The decor is ok I guess, I feel that this place tries very hard to be "modern" and "minimalistic" on with the trends today but the furnitures and settings did not go together well. Maybe they should have considered an interior decorator before modeling this place. The food of this place is over-priced and mediocre. Nothing special. This place has to be happy that it is in the middle of no-where with no authentic Asian restaurants nearby to compete with it or else I would have been in trouble. If this place were to be in NYC or SF, it would not be able to exist. Overall, over-priced and average food. The approach to Concerto Fusion takes you past a 60's era Dairy Queen, over old railroad tracks laid down when Fairless Works smelted steel by the megaton, and if you drive across the Delaware River from Trenton, on the girders of the famous "Trenton Makes" Bridge. Quite a history lesson. Then, you pull into the parking lot for Concerto and behold the façade of the side-facing entrance, all bright orange and red lanterns - like a cross between Miami Beach Ocean Drive and Lantern Festival in Xiamen. Pleasantly disconcerting cultural mix. And, perhaps, that was the intention of the owners of this Asian fusion establishment, so neatly tucked away in a dark corner of Morrisville. Get you slightly off-centered as you approach and enter their well appointed den, and prepare you for an experience both gastronomically and architecturally that is also designed to unbalance you. The room is spacious with curved walls, flowing koi pond, mirrors and raised dining area. The small bar sits in the middle of the room, almost invisible, yet with a half dozen stools for those who prefer cold liquid fusion. Similarly, the sushi area is in a corner behind the entrance and bar wall, where a solitary chef moves silently and efficiently cutting, molding, wrapping and presenting his artistry. We sat at a corner table closest to the sushi works and the kitchen, near enough to see what was going on, but not be a distraction. The ambiance was of quiet confidence and appealing tones. There was no doubt that a lot of thought had gone into the layout, and that the vision was carried out exceptionally well. Even several years of operation and breaking in, while noticeable, had not detracted from the effect. So, how was the food? Glad you asked. We appetized with the Hawaiian Tropical Roll (Eel, Avocado, Tobiko, Soy Wrap, lightly crusted Tempura and pleasing secret sauce). It arrived slightly warm with a mild crunch, and was a very enjoyable opening gambit. Wasabi, Ginger and Soy discretely on the side of the plate. I would have preferred the naturally white ginger to the pink colored alternative, but that is a very small minus. From there we selected from the Thai offerings: Pad Thai with Chicken and Pineapple Curry Fried Rice with Shrimp. Both arrived on large round white plates in amounts beyond our capacities to consume. They were good and satisfying, if not the best of breed that can be found in ethnic restos specializing in this cuisine. Nonetheless, we were happy to bring home the rest for another meal. Most pleasingly, both had large quantities of nuts; whole cashews for the rice, and ground peanuts for the noodles, and plenty of shrimp and chicken, respectively. Service was provided by our waiter who also was bartender this evening. He kept busy, and was not the most engaging sort. He seemed a bit ill at ease interacting with us. No biggie. Forgivable. The only annoyance was the charge for hot tea. Yes, quality tea is more expensive that the orange pekoe take out variety, but at $2.50 per green tea bag and a pot of hot water, it is off-putting. That generates more profit than the bar. Makes it worthwhile to plan ahead and bring your own tea. Check. Your move. Overall, while not the best sushi and Thai dishes in the world, everything we had was enjoyable. The design elements within and without made it unusual and had the desired impact of slightly altering perception to be a unique environment much farther away from daily reality than a drive into Morrisville would suggest. read more

I am a vegetarian and she actually had the chef make a special sauce specifically to my liking. It was delicious! First time was a solid 4, we ate in-restaurant. We started off with the Crawfish Spring Roll, very nice presentation and tasty... just let it cool down a little. We jumped right in and burnt the tops of mouths. Oh well. Was worth it. While the Thai Red Snapper dish was really nice, the waiter recommended the Thai Salsa Beef (Black Pepper Beef) dish; it was superb. WOW!!!!!! Second time we ordered and I picked up, had the Sesame Chicken, was overly fried hence the chicken didn't have a chance and was dried and nasty. Tossed it. One down. My wife was the lucky one with her dish of choice, even though I don't care of Moo Shu Chicken it was really good and fresh ingredients. My galpal and I visited Concerto Fusion after reading stellar reviews on Yelp. We both love Elements of Asia in Lawrenceville and decided this was our something new to try on a Saturday night. The crowd was a mixed blend of cougars, first daters, married couples getting their date night on, a small birthday party of twenty-somethings, and cute gay men. Loved the diversity of the clientele! The restaurant itself is very cool--the waterfall runneth dry but I let my imagination run "wild" as what it would look like it is was flowing. The fiber optics lines coming down from the ceiling was borderline porn flick decor slash mall kiosk novelty item. It provided good photos op later on though... Martinis were strong and yummy--try the sake martini and green tea martini. They have a comprehensive wine and liquor list. Definitely worth coming back for! Service was good but the restaurant was not crowded. We opted for getting apps and sushi and share an entree. The best app was the goat cheese ravioli. Fried but light and very flavorful. The best of the rolls we ordered was the tasty volcano roll. The pad thai with prawns sealed the deal on a great dining experience (and trust me I have had alot of pad thai in my day). Dessert was beautifully presented but small portions (honestly, the Tiramisu was itty bitty and had sprinkles on it--did they get a deal on leftover sprinkles from the Dairy Queen across the street?). Gotta love Concerto Fusion! I have yet to find a restaurant in the Trenton area that I like as much as this one. It doesn't look like much from the street, but once you go inside it becomes this trendy little bar and restaurant. For all of my fellow B.A.Ps out there, think "The J. Spot" from "Girlfriends." The food is delicious! In this area, it's pretty rare to find "clean-tasting" Chinese food (food that doesn't taste like they've been using the same grease for everything for three weeks), but the food at CF is both tasty and plentiful. They serve sushi and Chinese food - the mango basil fried rice is EVERYTHING (and to me, it tastes even better cold). The crab rangoon is really good as well. I wouldn't recommend it for kids, simply b/c it's all in one room, so its not very large. The last time I was there, this lady was letting her daughter (she looked to be about 4) crawl all over the floor, under the table etc. I couldn't even concentrate on my conversation because I was thinking how quickly my mother would have snatched me up and sat me in my seat. Ok, so let me rephrase that, I wouldn't recommend it for kids who don't know how to act in public. It's also right across the street from where I get my brows done, so I can kill two birds with one stone if need be. Great food, great prices - check it out! read more

Delicious food, interesting interior, good service -- and it only costs $9 for lunch! The place was hopping for lunch on a Monday, and I was not surprised, given the quality of the food, the service, the price and the ease of parking. My dining partner and I both tried the wonton soup - nothing special - and the spring roll -- freshly cooked, crispy but not greasy, fresh ingredients inside. We could not agree on the entrees, however. I tried the mango chicken and loved it. The mix of flavors - the chicken, the mango, the chilli, the peppers - was perfect. She tried the Black Pepper Beef and loved it. We both thought we got the better entree. I'm looking forward to finding more excuses to eat there and try other menu items. read more

You almost cannot believe the tucked away location that houses such a great atmosphere, creative sushi, and a menu that begs you to TRY IT ALL. From Trenton, cross the bridge off the Warren St exit, its the last exit on Rt 1 in NJ. You can also get off the highway at the first exit into PA, but then you have to pay the rt. 1 toll. The first light in Morrisville coming up from the Delaware river, turn left and its right there on your left, across from the Dairy Queen. Yes. There it is... Once you are inside, the decor is outstanding, modern with a waterfall behind the bar. The food, well, just wait til you try it. It's literally ALL great. The lunch specials are priced from $9 - $15 for a variety of Asian style hot dishes that includes choice of soup and an appatizer. I particularly like their Cantonese wonton soup and their crab rangoon. Or go with the sushi or sashimi specials. Everything is fresh. Concerto Fusion's location is a bit seedy. When you first pull up to the place, your first instinct is to turn around and leave. It's located in a very small strip mall and has a very faded, horrible looking sign. But once you walk through the doors, you're greeted by an indoor waterfall and a restaurant with a sleek, modern design. The sushi is excellent as is the service. In addition to the usual sushi options, they also feature some unique items such as a Yellow Tail Guacamole Roll - yellow tail and scallion, topped with guacamole, jalapeno tobiko and spicy tropical sauce. Both times I have been, I have had the sushi. I am curious to go back and check out one of the many menu options. Several people around us ordered entrees and they looked excellent. I had heard tons of word-of-mouth reviews raving about this place, so when I finally made my way there I desperately wanted it to live up to the hype. I am always looking for a little gem around here, something new in the least, and but sadly this won't be my new "it" place. The atmosphere is very nice, if not surprising for its concrete strip-mall exterior. The martinis were good. We ordered an all-sushi dinner, and while it was tasty, I never hate sushi. It wasn't anything that interesting. And it was frustrating that the sushi entrees didn't come with miso or a salad with ginger dressing, which has always been standard in my experience. Overall, you can get much better sushi by traveling north a bit to Princeton and going to Ajihei. The atmosphere suffers, but the fresh fish is outstanding. read more

If Morrisville is going through a renaissance, Concerto Fusion is leading the way. This restaurant was nicer than some of the places I frequent in SF, Philly and NYC. It's got an amazing vibe, ambiance and decor, and the food is right on par if not better. My family went for dinner tonight (as every Jewish family does on Christmas Eve) and we ordered the hot mushroom salad, the seaweed salad with taco, the concerto special roll, the angel roll, and the sushi/sashimi boat. EXCELLENT! The tuna and salmon just seemed to melt in my mouth, and the rolls were just so creative! They have a great bar, great martinis and a great wine selection, including our choice, a Robert Mondavi bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. This review is based on the service by the main hostess. My team and I stopped in for lunch, waited 5 minutes and was not greeted by anyone, in a restaurant with only 1 table seated. When seated, the hostess started taking our orders but was rude. When a colleague asked for water without ice, she scoffed. When I ordered shumai as my appetizer, she responded it was not included in the lunch special. I told her I understood that, that's why I'm ordering it separately from my entree. She stormed off, loudly yelling to the other server. We decided to leave but the other server asked us to stay. Terrible food at a bad location but with a great dining room. I too had heard many reviews from friends and coworkers raving about this place. I was expecting good novelty and my wife is a true foodie who is more than willing to try fusion dishes. The interior is fantastic -- imagine a neon and Asian-influenced interior of a starship. The employees are great, very courteous and helpful, even when a train is rumbling near the lot! Then there is the food and the location. My wife's odd shrimp and sauce combination was inedible. My sushi and maki were poor to average. The maki fish and vegetables tasted like they were near expiration. The location is ok for lunch. But I don't like dining so closs to an area with frequent drug deals and arrests and the main crossing point (Trenton Makes bridge) for gangs. There are many nice and safe parts of Morrisville. This is not one of them. Oishi in Newtown (fantastic) and even Charming Garden (good and run by the same people who mange this place, i believe) are much better. read more

On the local level this is a five star place. I have eaten here a handful of times. Morrisville does not lack in the sushi department - there is another place (which I will write a review about soon) on the other side of town - Trenton Ave - that I go to for take out sushi. When I want to eat sushi in, I got to Concerto Fusion. I have only ever had the soup, sushi and apps - none of the meals. The sushi is five stars easy! Interesting chef specialty rolls as well as standard types are all done with care and precision. I will admit the ambiance is....hmm...varied. It's like they were for a natural minimalist Japanese decor accented by wood, stone and water, but then someone came in an gave it strip-club-esque lighting accents (ambient purples and reds). Some of the glass fixtures are really cool....but random. There is a separate room for larger groups. The service is always very polite and attentive. They have a full bar and draft beers. They have an awesome "rock'em, sock'em" sushi night on Thursdays from 5-7ish (don't quote me on the times) where you can try a whole lot of different sushi for about half price than normal. If you have a friend that is interested in sushi but hasn't tried a lot - this is a great time to go and get schooled on some different types. I think the place should do nightlife on the weekends, personally because it has a lounge feel to it. And if the main lighting was dimmed then the aforementioned "strip-club-esque" lighting would really look cool. On Thursdays from 5:00-7:30 you can snag 2 rolls or 2 pieces of sushi for just $1.00! I love taking sushi newbies here to try it out. It's just basic rolls, but its great as a sampler. We had the shrimp dumpling appetizer, seaweed salad, pad thai and various rolls. The crunch roll, by far, was my favorite; so much in fact that I have been craving it since I left. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice and the food was very good. The prices seems reasonable too. Minus one star though because we were never offered refills on our drinks, even though we were there for a good 2 hours (they did refill the water glasses though) I look forward to returning on my next visit up to Bucks County. read more
