This has to be the worst, gross and unappealing buffet I have ever been to in my life. It is the most abandoned looking buffet as well. Super tiny 2 rows of food - the bathrooms were grotesque, there was piss on the floor . Our family drove 45 minutes out here to be sad and leave. We didn't even sit - not worth it . Kam Buffet sits deep in the heart of Trenton off Clinton Avenue. It is a fairly large space and seems to have an active lunch trade. Service is minimal as in most buffets, with the two women in black directing seating and delivering drinks. They are friendly enough. The food spread is a combination of hybrid Chinese American, Latin and variations of fried chicken for everyone. I sampled a cross section of their offerings, including, General's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Egg Foo Young, String Beans, Pepper Beef, Boneless BBQ Ribs, and Dumplings. All were average to below, and some were cool from too much time out of the sun. Edible fare, but far from inspiring. The biggest problem is price. When such low quality victuals cost $10, there is something wrong with the proposition. Even Flaming Grill out on White Horse offers much more for substantially less. And, they use bigger plates without the notice everywhere that if you leave food on your plate there will be a 15% extra charge for waste. Plus, an extra buck for hot tea! Not a fan of buffet police. Hard to recommend Kam unless you are in the immediate area without means of getting to another Chez Chinois. I normally don't leave reviews but I eat out a lot and I am so sick of people having no common sense when I'm paying for your services. Bad delivery, overpriced, and unsatisfying experience. My food was sitting on the porch getting cold for 20-30 mins cause the driver couldn't ring the bell or call to let me know it arrived, then never updated the app so looked like something was wrong, just poor service! The food was ok, but not worth ordering it again. I had 1 lb of crab legs for $40 and it came with one small piece of corn and one mini potato and it was cold. Now I can get a complete platter for much less filled with shrimp, broccoli, corn and potatoes at Sea World Seafood and that will last me two days. After eating this, I was still hungry! STOP being cheap, add another piece of corn and some potatoes for a $40 dish should be filling. read more

I will start off by saying I love buffets. I recognize food quality isn't always the best but am willing to trade that for a variety, especially concerning Chinese buffets. Came on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch (2pm) and was so disappointed at the lack of variety and hardly any desserts. All meat dishes I tried were impossible to chew, 3 different types of chicken all with the same bland red sauce I've never seen and only two types of sushi I was afraid to try. Stopped in here for lunch today as I had an hour to kill. It's a very large open space, with three small sections of food. I started with the sushi and put the first piece in my mouth and bit down and literally spat it out all over the table. It probably was single-handedly the worst bite of food I've ever encountered. I grabbed a few pieces of chicken on a stick figuring that's pretty easy and the chicken was hard and over cooked. I then tried the chicken with broccoli and the chicken again was dry and the broccoli was undercooked. Then they put out shrimp right out of the kitchen so I put some on my plate, took a bite, and immediately regretted it as the shrimp tasted almost as bad as that first bite of sushi. I think that anyone who reads my reviews knows that I try to be honest but gentle at the same time but frankly I cannot say anything positive about this place read more

I love this buffet restaurant because it has all the chinese dishes you want right here in trenton area! My favorites are the fried prawns, walnut shrimp, general tso chicken, bok choy, fish filet, coffee flavored cake. There's also other types of food like Italian, salad, sushi, cakes and 6 flavors of ice cream (mango, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, green tea and cookie and cream) Waitstaff is so friendly, very attentive.music is soothing, and best of all the value is great for the price, and less for lunch special. read more

this is a small buffet compare to many in NJ, but it is definitely a very good buffet. there's two hot food bars and one cold. there's the common Chinese food like chicken with broccoli, lomein, sesame chicken, and so on. and there's a larger selection of fried food like sweet and sour chicken, and wings... my favorite is there variety of seafood during lunch time. the most i've seem in the Princeton area. lunch is about $9.00 including drink and tax. dinner is $12. not bad at all for the quality of food. there's lots of fresh fruits not canned one I see in many buffets which is a plus. this place charges people if you waste food, meaning if you leave quarter or more of plate of food and not eat it, they add money to your bill. i don't mind it, it actually prevents me to let my eyes be bigger than my stomach! i would come back if i am in the area. 4/20/2017 Come back today since I have to visit social security office at the same plaza. Almost forgot about this place. Still delicious and friendly service. The servers don't really speak English well, but very attentive. Price for lunch is the same as 6 years ago!!! Not sure if this is the same place from which the other reviews went to. The food was fresh but had a weird taste to it. The crew bringing food wasn't to cautious with the food being put into sternos. At one time they dropped food which fell onto a dirty counter. Then with bare hands it was picked up and thrown back into tray for anyone to eat. I can understand trying to cut losses but from a health perspective that's not good. The place could use a face lift but I'd take a clean place over that anyday. Another thing they can focus on is food prep., all the shrimp I picked out had not been cleaned. Kam Buffet is a very good Chinese Buffet, my family and I just loved it. My fiancee is not a social person and has never been out to eat in any restaurant. We went to Kam's for my birthday this year, and he fell in love with the place. He wanted to go back yesterday,trying to use the excused that since hurricane Sandy knocked out the lights we should just go back to Kam's and skip trying to cook in the dark. I took my daughter there for lunch on a Saturday. The food was nasty and the price ridiculous, $12 for lunch for one person is unacceptable plus they charged me 15% more because my daughter got the egg foo young that was horrible, so she didn't eat it. I will never eat there again. read more

I don't know why others are rating this place so high, I went there just because the rating was so great. But it was a bit disappointment, the place was smaller than expected, the choice of dishes were very limited, maybe because I went there for lunch; the hot dishes were pretty much Americanized, a lot of sugar, soy sauce, and maybe a lot of MSG. There were a variety choices of sauces, but I am not exactly sure what they are used for. They did serve some sushi and raw clams, which were quite fresh, but again, very limited selections (a total of 5 or 6 choices). They did also serve some salad, which I liked the best of the restaurant, which seemed to be quite fresh, however I don't like the creamy sauce, unfortunately they were mixed together. The only good thing about the restaurant I can remember, is the freshness of the fruit. The watermelon and mango were quite fresh and they were quite good, but again only 3 fruits to choose from. Pretty spacious with a variety sized tables. They have the best General Taos's Sauce. The fried cheese wontons are amazing! Offer a large variety of seafood. For dessert, they get ice cream from local New Jersey dairy farms and also have a lot of fresh fruit, cookies, cakes. I definitely will come back.
