I ordered the fried conch and shrimp with mac n cheese and rice n peas. The fried shrimp were awesome, fried perfectly lightly battered so good. The fried conch was ok...im very picky about conch, I like them very tender and not chewy. The rice n peas were very good also, the mac n cheese was just ok. Next time I will get the conch salad instead of the fried conch but I will return for sure. read more

Authentic Bahamian food good vibes and friendly but food was tasty and felt comfortable

I was at the landmark dealership and went to yelp to find a place close by for dinner. I had a lot of good options to choose from, once I came to Conch Heaven I knew where I was going. Conch Heaven is a Bahamian restaurant. I called to see if I could place a to go order over the phone, the lady said yes and I proceeded to give her my order. My food was ready when I arrived, approximately 10 minutes later. I went with conch fritters, mac and cheese, jhonny bread, peas and rice. There wasn't too many people inside so I decided to dine in and ordered a slice of rum cake and Jamaican Kola. The restaurant is very small with limited bar seating, with about 11 chairs at a counter top. The young lady at the receptionist was very friendly and had a smile. I took a bite of each item that I ordered and every single item was delicious. Conch fritters were $7 and the amount of conch inside the breading was perfect. The portions are huge, enough for two people and the price was perfect, less than $20 for my entire meal. I ended up taking half of my order to go. If you're looking for conch, Bahamian food or interested in trying a new cuisine that you're not familiar with, come to Conch Heaven. read more

A no-frills eatery with a welcoming hostess, and food that tastes good, like really really good! We had ordered fried conchs with peas & rice and cracked lobster with peas & rice; loved both the dishes. So if you are craving for some deep fried seafood, this is the place for you. I'm a very picky eater but I love this place I go here every other day for the jerk chicken but recently I've tried the curry chicken and I'm in love omg so good with just a hint of spice, the rice is so good and not hard...sometime they are a little stingy with the sauce so make sure to ask for more of that. I did a triple take when I saw Conch Heaven on a sign by HMart!  I am from South Florida and seeing conch outside of the super southeast coast is unheard of. I had to check it out for a taste of home. Truth be told it's more notably a Carribean native shellfish but it makes its way to Miami fairly effortlessly.  If you've never had conch I don't know what you're doing with your life. Upon entering there is no mistaking the vibrant Carribean colors. Although everytime I'd sail away from the S. Florida coast and see all the bright buildings  my dad used it say it was "deco".  Anyway this deco Carribean color is full on inside of Conch Heaven. It's got eat in barstool seating for a quick bite but more suited for a take out meal. The menu is mainly shellfish and some fish with a bit of chicken and gator for landlubbers in the group. Any way you love your conch they have it. Fritters, fried, cold salad, or in a combo it's all there. You will also find crab, shrimp, lobster and calamari on the menu. Vegans are outta luck but there are a few vegetarian options.  Hush puppies, Beans and rice, coleslaw and ceasar salad are some side options. It's just a bit on the pricey side for the type of restaurant it is.  I feel like they should decrease prices by 20%  or change the seating to be more formal table service. This is a family run businesses by Bahama natives.  My hot food was cooked to order, very tender conch (which can get rubbery if you don't know what you're doing) and 'fish fingers' which are not the fingers you're thinking of. Petite melt in your mouth whitefish in a nicely seasoned light batter. I liked the contrast of the more textured conch with the velvety fish. Really tasty. The side sauce they have is a mayo ketchup blend and doesn't bring much to the party. I'd rather something more citrusy or mango based to really give a Carribean punch.  I my side of choice was coleslaw and sadly it wasn't not made the same day. I was there right when they opened at 11 and the cabbage was mixed some time yesterday. Nothing special and I only ate about half of it where normally I'd finish it all. Even though it's overpriced I am going back for another combo basket-it is a generous portion. read more

I frequently go to the Doraville Hmart that I've been eyeing this place ever since it had opened, but wasn't brave enough to try it out first without seeing some reviews. (Conch Heaven is located in the same plaza as Hmart.) Through reviews, I learned that this is Bahamian food, pretty cool! Seeing as that I like conch, I was super excited to try that I even made a trip after a workout. Inside is very small, but does have a bit of stool seating and couple small TVs. Overall, it's meant to be a quick stop for a bite to eat or take out. I ordered the crack conch, which is essentially fried conch that comes with a side and I chose cole slaw. Portion wise, I thought it was a bit small for $15 meal and while the breading was perfect, not so greasy, there was absolutely no flavor. Even the sauce that it came with was bland and coleslaw just tasted like cut up veggies in mayo. I know this is a small mom and pop store that I feel awful about not liking my experience, but would like to share and hope they can make improvements. read more

The best is an understatement. I had the grilled conch with mac and cheese and a Johnny cake and it was too notch. It wasn't too spicy and it was cooked yo perfection. It was tender and full of flavor. We also ordered conch salad and and a whole red snapper. O have not had better from anywhere. We will be going back very soon. Located in the same plaza as Hmart, Shoya, Snackboxe bistro, this is a little cute restaurant. There is a place where you can sit and enjoy your food but it's the high top style against the wall with tall bar chairs. The restaurant is very clean and the young lady who takes your order is super nice and helpful. Of course, all orders are made fresh and averages about 10 mins. Now the food: I have visited this place twice now and have been super satisfied. The portions are quite nice and everything that I have so far have been tasty. Makes me feel like I'm on an island eating conch but I'm really not. The 1st visit I had fried conch and fries (I know "fry" overload). Very nicely done and there is a dipping sauce for it. Although fried, it was not in a heavy batter to where you can't taste the conch. Yesterday I had the grilled conch with peas and rice. With a drink it set me back about $17. However, it was sooo worth it. The grilled conch comes wrapped in a foil packet and inside is a nice amount of conch with tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and my favorite plantains. But beware when you open the foil as it's very hot. Peas and rice were good and had flavor. If I wasn't starving I would have been able to split it up into 2 meals. The conch was soft yet slightly chewy and if you are all about enjoying the flavors as is, which I did, you didn't need any sauce to dip at all. I will be back again. Great fresh made to order meals.. I love conch from the time I spent in Key West. I enjoy the fritters but wish the batter to conch ratio was better. I'd pay more. I today I had crack conch with french fries, rice & peas and cabbage. The dinner portion came with three sides. Everything was hot and lightly seasoned. I can actually taste the conch and enjoy the taste of the batter. The cabbage was delicious & french fries were also hot. Today I took some of their hottest pepper sauce, which I was told to mix with my regular hot sauce. I was told that it was very hot and to be careful. Those who know me know I love spicy anything. I took her warning, I mixed it with my Tabasco :-) it was delicious. And yes, it was hot but not too hot for me. . All in all, I really like this place. My Carry out order took less than 15 minutes. As close to Bahamian food as I can find in Atlanta without my mom cooking it or trip to Miami or home to Nassau. I am Bahamian, born and bred so I know Bahamian food. The crack (fried ) conch is very good, a little more breading than my moms but still yummy. The conch salad is on point, lots of conch in the mix, just the right amount of lemon juice and spice. The conch fritters were also yummy with just the right amount of conch in it which I really like. The sides ...macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and peas and rice were very good, close to my moms. I've been to both the Miami and Atlanta location and it's the same great taste! The Miami location is a bit more chill though, good spot to relax. My only issue is that it's so far from where I live and I wish they had more than one location for days like today. I enjoyed my cracked conch dinner. It's about $15 for fried conch and three sides. I chose fries, Mac and cheese and Johnny cake. The batter isn't flavorful, but you get to taste the conch more: like oysters, with the texture of calamari. The fried conch is a bit greasy, and I wish it were flash fried - but I liked it well enough! The fries were regular fries with some spices on top.
