Great food give it a try you won't regret it I promise great flavor taste and everything

    General Tsu's/Tso's Chicken

Their version of the Chicken Tso's chicken looks and tastes just like cracker jacks without the peanuts. This is horrible, this dish should not taste like candy chicken ! Very very disappointed with this order. You order and pay first at the register. Restaurant is empty so bring a crowd. Everything is served on styrofoam. I did not even eat 1/4 of the meal....tooooooooo much SUGAR!!! The rice was cold, but good. The chicken was burn the roof of your mouth piping hot. The General is turning over in his grave. This dish should be sweet & spicy ! It's just horribly SWEET! YUK! Sweet like when you put too much sugar in kool-aid!

Sizzling rice soup and shrimp fried rice served on styrofoam

First off, I've been coming to this restaurant for almost 15 years. My grandma used to bring us just to get their shrimp fried rice, hot wings and sizzling rice soup, I haven't been in about 3 years so I was excited to bring my boyfriend for his first time. I walked in and did not see the Older man that always ran the register, or his wife that was always super kind. The restaurant after many years has been somewhat redone, no more carpet, drapes etc. I thought hmmm that's crazy, I wonder if it changed hands? Well I ordered the usual and when I tell you I was Shocked when they brought our food out, it was always served on glass platters, we were always given silverware, glass cups etc, but no, they actually brought our soup in styrofoam containers. I couldn't believe it, even our rice and wings were brought out on styrofoam.Plastic utensils and about 5 small cheap napkins. No soy sauce on the tables or anything. The food was just okay.I was very disappointed, maybe they can't afford a dishwasher, or they're just being cheap? Wow, sadly I don't think I'll be returning, Miss the old owners.

Ok food, not welcoming ; cashier insisted I have my ID, made me run out to the car to get it. Veggie fried rice is just peas and carrots tiny chunks.... rip off.

Good Chinese for the price. Have had good chicken and beef dishes here. The pork wasn't as good. Great egg rolls!

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

But the green beans with pork were my favorite. The pork medallions were so tender. The salt and pepper shrimp was lacking of flavor. The corn chicken soup was great, so was the hot and sour. But their wonton was a hit and I crave more. The restaurant is nicely preserved in time I feel. There are so many celebrities with photos who have come and gone from this world. Staffing was a little slow, but that's ok because there's no rush. They were all nice and friendly.

On the wall by the main entrance they have several photos of many famous people who have eaten there previously. I met up with a friend of mine there for a good chat and chew. Parking: For anyone coming here for any occasion make sure you validate your parking with the restaurant. The ONLY parking lot they validate is the one right beside the restaurant! Drinks: I got the strawberry lemon drop drink. It was good and did come with the vodka flavor with natural strawberry syrup. It was good. The vegetable dumpling was good! On to the main entree was the House Lo Mein. It was just average and not the greatest I've tried. It took a minute before our server came back. To me it needed more flavor, seasoning and it didn't have any spice what's so ever! I wouldn't get it again. The thing I found annoying/unprofessional was the staff taking forever to give me and my friend out checks. We came into the establishment an hour before they closed. At that time a lot of people were still in the place. However, by the time we received our checks we were the last people in their establishment. The other individuals were the workers cleaning up. We tried to get a server to come to our table sooner but wasn't successful. This is my sole opinion but I wasn't over impressed over food.

I've been wanting to try it but it's hard to find at local restaurants. The chef visited us during our meal, and we sung her praises. The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. I ordered the crispy chicken with garlic sauce and swapped the white rice for a side of house lo mein (yes, it's an upcharge, but worth it). Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!
