The bar downstairs is ridiculously expensive at around $12 for a small glass of liquor with lots of ice, of $7 for a bottle of water. Restrooms are open to anyone and mon gendered so be mindful when you're at the urinal because women can and will be behind you at the sink washing their hands. The decorations look like something out of Hobby Lobby meets Dollar Tree. Oh with a lot of cheap flat screens everywhere. The actors reminded me of everyone in my High School acting club. Good try, lots of passion, but not scary. Especially when I've been to both Universal Studios Florida and LA. Groups are about 10 people and our group had a lot of scaredy cats. You can pay extra for these red glow necklaces that make actors choose you or try extra hard to scare you. Turns out some people in our group are scared easily even though they were posing as tough with their necklaces LOL So the theme this year 2025 is good witches against bad witches who are turning humans into rats and zombies. Ummm. .okay. I found the whole thing comical and give this place 3.5 stars. Wish they would spend more time and money on the decorations, tone down the overacting and screaming, and get a better plot line. Crystals that change color, and finding those crystals seem less than scary if you ask me. This would be a 4 star haunted house if you're like 12 years old.

October 2025…read more... Another Halloween season of driving from Sacramento all the way to San Jose to experience Bernal Scream again! We're pretty dedicated fans of this Haunt and they never disappoint! The props are really well executed. Actors stay in character and really perform in a way that is curated well. Security measures are present and it always feels like a safe environment despite the screams and fun. I enjoyed 2024' location, I enjoyed 2025' location... I have one gripe that..... might give away one of the areas during the walk-thru experience.... For 2025... It was held at the fairgrounds and you get your tickets, walk inside to the lined waiting areas and wait to be called for entry. Once we entered the haunt, just the 2 of us, it was a series of different rooms to walk thru, experience the "theme" of each area, actors are spread out within the venue for that extra scare... One of my hesitations with any haunt.... it's not the actors, props, setups, or darkness...... it's usually having to face the unknown of what might be a scare presented as a phobia. For 2025, there was an area that had from what I could see.... like plastic prop style snakes, and that's a real phobia for people. Obviously, this is my issue to deal with personally, but it would be nice to not encounter a snake effect during haunts. That room scared me the most, and although I knew logically they weren't real, it's a real phobia, a real scare, and an elevated heart rate that I didn't want to experience. We will continue to support and enjoy Bernal! The team does amazing work! But please..... if reading this, take that into consideration. You come in they scan your ticket and they give you two blue tickets for the haunted house. We had bough the fast pass for this event and so we were suppose to get two fast pass tickets only to realize at the front they gave me general admission. I apologized to the greeter and offered to show my official tickets but she said it was fine. Up until this point I was confused about the tickets. I wasn't sure if this is a haunted house that you can go in many times but it was clear it was a one time deal. That was pretty upsetting. So we basically paid $50 dollars to go into the haunted house once. And it was quite a small haunted house too. They advertised all these vendors and food trucks but there was only 3 vendors there and two food trucks. We did get food from Benitos but it was not that good. Their strawberry lemonade tasted like tap water. I was expecting a lot more overall and i was let down. I was even embarrassed to have recommended a family member stop by. She got there at 5 and there was nothing and then waited in line until 6:30 only to leave at 7 after going through the haunted house. There was nothing more to do at that point.

The value of the $30 ticket was lost - as there was simply no one in line - at all - I would have saved $10 and fees just walking up and buying a $20 GA ticket for my son. I am sure timing matters and so does the date selected, but was very disappointed with our online ticket purchase. 4. Display by local Obtaiumworks was cool to see. But the event seemed to be missing some dressing on the salad inside. Lots of empty open space not decorated or themed . Music /sound area could have been dressed with less chintzy decorations and lighting. Employ local artisans to develop the space! 5. Felt sorry for the marketplace vendors - who were kind and hopefully made enough money to pay for their booths. Overall, I left the event feeling let down and wallet stabbed. After reading these other recent reviews, I see why. Seriously, arguing with the disabled? ADA violations are no joke. As a business you could treat families of all different capabilities with better care! Themed nights might be something to think of to get more entertainment through and better food vendors connected and draw a better crowd stream. You're in the perfect location for Sea /nautical theme, radioactive nuclear themes military, fantasy etc. partner with out Vallejo artists resources so many talented folks live and create here! Price for a ticket is cheap ($10 in 2021), compared to D23. People are allowed to express themselves in Disney attire, just like at Disneyland, this is a safe space. We've never parked at the hotel lot, I don't know if it's covered? There are restaurants walking distance from the hotel: Taco Bell, The Habit, Starbucks, and more. My favorite thing to do is walk around and look at what the vendors are selling. I've always made some amazing purchases for not too much money. My friend loves to attend the panels. Super amazing, they are able to draw out at least one famous Disney person. Bring cash if you wish to have something signed by a Disney Princess, it appears to run $40 in cash for signatures and $20 for a photo. Great way to get your Disney fix without having to drive 400 miles. Also now that so many Disney stores have closed in the Bay Area, you can walk about a shop a little. See you next year.

The name Mouse-Con…read moreleads you to believe it's a convention pretty much based around Mickey Mouse or so I thought but I was wrong. This year it was being held in the crown plaza hotel, they utilized a few conference rooms, part of the lobby and a mice portion of the registration area of the hotel. The admission fee was $10 I believe and parking was free, they did have shirts, buttons and other souvenirs for sake with the Mouse-Con logo on them but they sold out pretty fast. This convention is only held on one day but you will get through it pretty fast as it is really small. It was an all around Disney Convention with so much cool merchandise, many of the vendors were selling exclusive park merchandise such as limited released pins, funko pops, spirit jerseys, mouse ears, vintage memorabilia and just about everything you could possibly think of. I did like the selection and variety of items that were being sold, although some items were highly priced I did get some good deals on pins and a pair of ears. The convention also held a costume/cosplay contest which was great and there were tons of creative costumes! There were some guest speakers and special guests such as Margaret Kerry (Known for the famed Tinkerbell), Eva Bella & Livvy Stubenrauch (Voices of Ana and Elsa from "Frozen"), Tony Bancroft (helped create Pumbaa for Lion King, Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast and Lago the parrot from Aladdin). But this year's really special guest and spotlight was Disney Legend Bob Gurr!! Bob Gurr has designed most of the ride vehicles at Disneyland (Autopia, Haunted Mansion, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Disneyland Monorail and Submarine Voyage) as well as the King Kong encounter at Universal Studios Hollywood. I had the pleasure of meeting him and taking a picture with him, he's very nice and I had been wanting to meet him for a few years now so I'm glad to have experienced that. Overall it's a good convention I just think it should be bigger and should be two days instead of one and maybe have more vendors and other fun activities. They make a lot of effort to decorate and set up a spoooky ambiance. The cast were really into character and it was really fun. I also enjoyed their Halloween styled drinks - it truly set the mood! For the regular tours, I was pretty disappointed. For the following reasons: - tour was WAY too big (could not hear and it was hard to follow along) - tour content was a bit lacking. I came in with a rough idea of who Sarah Winchester was and didn't learn much beyond that. Might be different if you don't know anything about the area though - tour guides were kind of cranky. Our tour guide seemed pretty annoyed throughout the whole thing and I saw multiple other tour guides (ours included) yell at guests which was super awkward Nonetheless it is amazing to have such a historic landmark nearby. I mean, there were literally residents shuttling people in golf carts because parking was at a premium for the entire town. The haunt is kinda in the middle of it all.... they spaced everyone out, which makes me happy because I'm able to enjoy the haunt without others screaming, pushing, or stopping inside. It was like 20 dollars per person, very affordable, and well staffed! We actually did get scared several times... And the props were amazing!!
