I love finding "hidden gems". Concord Coffee is in an older building complex/strip mall off of Florida Ave in Lakeland. Strip malls don't evoke images of chic ambiance and cool vibes, but Concord Coffee was definitely chic and cool! I loved the decor and the barista was super friendly and accommodating. She made us our own concoctions: Earl Grey Lavender lemonades! So refreshing! And the iced latte that my daughter ordered was so good - she ordered a second one to go! I hadn't been to Concord since it opened, and was the only local coffee shop, I think about 8 years ago. You park off the alley to get to it. It's def a popular "college" coffee shop, with scholars at tables with spiral notebooks, earbuds and laptops everywhere. You order at the counter and they call your name when it's ready. The barista was nice enough. I was shocked that only whole milk was offered (plus oat, almond) and there was no sugar-free syrup option. That takes Concord off my return list for iced lattes. I ordered almond milk and enjoyed the bold flavor. They use different vendors for pastries and I saw no menu for hot items like eggs or breakfast sandwiches. I settled on a muffin from another local vendor. It was "meh", did not taste homemade and took a long time for them to "toast" it (came out warm not toasted, with no offer of butter or cream cheese which it needed, as was dry). My vantage point showed the 12 oz drink had about 4-6 oz of liquid to the rest, large ice. $9 for the pair. Glad I went but there are a half dozen nearby shops whose vibe, seating, pastries & latte options I like better. read more

Flew into Orlando for our 5 year anniversary. My wife went to school down in Palm Beach Atlantic University and mentioned that she had a class mate who had opened up a coffee shop (Andy). We had a free day so we decided to rent a car and drive from Orlando to Lakeland and try Concord Coffee. Boy was I glad we did! Being originally from Seattle, we've become a bit of coffee snobs and it's tough to get a good cup of joe anywhere outside of Seattle. But I can confidently say that my cup of vanilla latte was right up there with some of the best that I've ever had - Seattle included. My wife had a pour over. The beans were perfectly roasted, all roasted local I believe. It was a delight. They also have food offerings but we did not try any. The coffee shop itself reminded me a lot of some of my favorite shops back in Seattle. A comfortable place where you can grab a cup to go or stay in and work or catch up with a friend. When traveling, trying new coffee spots can be so risky but wow do I wish this place was closer to home!! We were in town over night and found this place (thanks to YELP!!) and needless to say we went Saturday and Sunday. Such a cool spot, cube, drinks and service. I tried the earl grey lemonade the first day which was soooo aromatic and flavorful. I enjoyed every single sip and was ready for seconds. So refreshing and energizing! On the second day we needed our morning coffee and I went with the cinnamon honey oat milk latte and it was so smooth and creamy, I'm glad it was a hot latte because otherwise I would've chugged it. My husband ordered a cold brew and it was so smooth yet so flavorful. They also have enough seating and space In between that it felt safe plus they have outdoor seating which worked great for us since we had our pups with us. We wanted to swing by to pick up a bag of beans before leaving but didn't get a chance. Great choice, make sure you try it! read more

Honestly I was a bit disappointed here. I wasn't quite sure what to get so I decided upon a mocha coconut iced latte. This took a long time for them to make it. They never apologized about the length of time taken to make it. When it came it was a teeny tiny cup. What a bummer. I'm still dreaming of a perfect coffee shop in Aventura(Miami), FL. I haven't been here in a while, but on the day I visited, I made it on time for happy hour (which I didn't even know they had!). Coincidence​? I think not! I'm going to be real with y'all... I don't remember the happy hour time frame so make a call if you really want the 50% off of select coffees. I personally have always loved this place for their ambiance and aesthetics. It's always been packed when I visit so finding a spot to camp out for the day can be difficult. The difference between my last and most recent visit is that I like coffee a lot more now. With that being said, I enjoy black coffee (I know...adulting sucks) and opted for an iced Americano, which came out to only $1.50 before tax. A yummy steal! Concord Coffee is for sure one of the top places you gotta take your out-of-town friends to if you want to impress them with a hidden gem in Lakeland. It'd probably make their days even more if you make it on time for happy hour as well! read more

I admire Concord coffee for bringing rare and interesting coffees to Lakland. This coffee shop affords an open, smartly decorated, and sophisticated ambiance reminiscent of the Oxford Exchange. They even had a jazz version of Radiohead's No Suprises playing. I tried a Kenyen bean coffee brewed from the aeropress method (see picture). I have not tasted coffee prepared this way before and but this method brought my cup of coffee to a new level. The coffee was very flavorful and did not require milk or sugar. The staff makes this coffee shop exemplary. They were knowledgeable and passionate about coffee. The only change I recommend is serving food. read more

Concord is by far the best "real" coffee in town. They make their own syrups, and it really makes a difference! The shop itself is super modern, with white subway tile, sleek furniture, wood countertops, and pretty hanging plants. I love their lattes, and they always give you a pretty design (I had already sipped from my coffee, so don't judge their latte art by the photo - they are actually very talented!) Basically an instagrammers dream coffee shop, including legitimately good coffee. Like most people, I love a decadent coffee with all the whipped cream and craziness. But most of the time I want a real coffee that is brewed right so that it's smooth and tasty without having a bunch of added sugar. That's what Concord's coffee is like. They always have 2 kinda of espresso to choose from, each with different notes - sometimes something floral, or chocolatey, but always amazing. read more

I'm not a HUGE coffee fan, though I do enjoy it every so often. That being said I loved the coffee here! I also enjoyed avocado toast with some chips on the side as a light meal and a matcha drink. The place has an amazing, modern aesthetic and the staff are friendly. There are outdoor and indoor tables which make this a great place to sit and catch up on some work, especially alongside the wifi, or just enjoy some music. Would recommend visiting. read more

If you are planning a trip to Lakeland, but unsure of what is going to keep you caffeinated during your explorations, never fear - you have Concord Coffee. Park around back and walk down the steps into a corridor that leads to a few spaces, but Concord will be on your left. It's a beautiful space of white and wood tones with plenty of seating and even a conference room you can book for meetings if you happen to live in the area. The coffee is good, but they also have other offerings, among my favorite the Matcha Lemonade. Perhaps my favorite aspect of this shop are the friendly baristas. I've been multiple times and I've never encountered a barista that acted like they didn't truly care about assisting me in anyway possible, even giving me recommendations of places to visit in town. I'm a barista based in Tampa, and I love Concord Coffee! What a gem! I stop here every time I head up to Orlando now, and I also don't mind the 40min drive JUST for the coffee. Each cup is crafted beautifully. I personally recommend the cappuccinos. Concord is a little bit hidden, but if you have Google Maps, it's easy to find. They're priced very well for craft coffee, staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable, and they even have a great space to book meetings. The atmosphere is very clean and chill and family friendly, and they have plenty of seating. They roast their own beans next door and you can watch them do their work too, which is really cool. In short, do NOT drive by Concord without getting coffee. Best coffee in central Florida...HANDS DOWN. read more

Wow....I have approximately 0% idea Lakeland had ridiculously good coffee. Beyond that, most think Lakeland offers only 3 things; A great HS Football team, the bestest supermarket chain HQ in the south, and pickup truck. It's fits closer to a quaint Coral Gables, minus the pretentious SoFla wannabes. Now to the coffee. This was my 325th coffee place in the US and it was shockingly good. Very cute coffee shop in Lakeland. The decorations inside the shop is very sophisticated and pretty. I had a latte which was good and had a pretty latte art. My one complaint is that Concord was a little hard to find but the search was well worth it! The service is top notch. The baristas are friendly and witty and best of all very knowledgeable! They answered questions and recommended drinks. They did not street us wrong! We tried the Lakelandia which I was unsure of but it really tastes like beer. A beer that I can drink before work and gives me my much needed morning shot of caffeine. Not sure it gets any better than that. We also tried the flat white which I think could also be called the tesla of lattes. Its unique, tastes fantastic and gives you a boost of energy all at the same time. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing with several seating areas including an outdoor area. It's decorated in a very clean and modern way with a lot of nice little touches. A million times YES. Go here! This coffee shop was recommended to us by the server at another bistro in town and she was spot on. It's a great slow drip joint with fun foam art and a cozy atmosphere. I'd say this is more of a place to go work than to catch up with a girlfriend, but definitely somewhere you can spend hours. The baristas were friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the varieties of coffee they carry. We walked out much more knowledgeable than we were walking in.
