This is truly a one of a kind-kind of place, and it's open year long every day noon-9pm. I'm sure there are exceptions such as holidays, but that it what is advertised on their front window. Now, there are about 24+ flavors including Italian ices and low calorie options. My boyfriend got just the simple cookies and cream which was full of cookies! I got the White Christmas which was a vanilla base with minty pieces in it. I kept trying to figure out why mine had ice throughout, different than when it gets freezer burnt. It was super tasty nonetheless and the girls there were helpful. I felt the scoops of ice cream could have been a bit larger for the price. Bottom line: they have a great name, a great space, a great location, and one-of-a-kind flavors. You've got to stop and give 'em a try! read more

Make sure you stop @ Cone Heads Ice Cream when you're in St. Augustine. They offer amazing ice cream flavors that are very yummy! They let you sample a bunch of flavors before you decide so definitely take advantage of this. I promise it's well worth the trip to the beaches. read more

My family of 4 (2 adults, a 10 yo, and a 6 yo) had some dessert here on 4/6 during our Spring Break vacation in the Saint Augustine area. They had a wide variety of flavors inside of a beachy little shop (with a matching tiny parking lot, lol). There was plenty of staff and they did an excellent job getting through the line! I recommend the triple peanut butter! The kids, and us adults, loved it, and wouldn't hesitate to go back! read more

YES! YES! YES! Love everything about this place. Great location on the beach. Water outside for the dogs. Picnic tables with umbrellas. Walk right up in your bathing suit. Can sample everything. Oh, and did I mention? The ICE CREAM! So yummy! Been here so many times we've lost count. Never disappoints. Went again today around noon. Not overly crowded. Super friendly service. Delicious crispy waffle cones with a hint of cinnamon. We sampled about 5 different flavors. Loved them all (the blueberry cheesecake, oh my) but finally settled on something with chocolate swirl, chunks of pretzels and brownie (sorry, forgot the name). Next time gonna try the coffee ice cream with bourbon (I think it's called Exhausted Parent). Great place that we come back to year after year. And they seem to be able to hire some very responsible teenagers. Which means they must be doing something right! Keep it up, Cone Heads! The beach just wouldn't be the same without you! read more

No trip to the beach would be complete without ice cream! We saw this little shop while driving along and made a U-turn to get some sweets. I am not a fan of plain ice cream - I've got to have something added into mine - and this place did not disappoint! I cannot recall the name of the flavor I got but it was mega loaded with candy, caramel and more! Every bite had lots of goodies. 3 scoop waffle cone and one scoop in a cup set me back about $16 but it was very delicious. They only take cash so make sure you have some moola before you stop for some mooooola! read more

We went here while visiting St. Augustine. It was only two blocks from us. I got a chocolate malt milkshake and it was delicious. My niece got a small scoop in a waffle cone and it was a lot of ice cream and also delicious. Their waffle cones have a little cinnamon taste which was really nice. The ice cream flavors are pretty great, but the business is cash only. Which is clearly marked on the door outside. There is an ATM conveniently located inside that has a $3 charge to use though. That's a pretty dickish thing to do to your customers that are there to already overpaying for your ice cream. $5 for a 1 scoop baby cone would more than cover your bank fees as a business I feel. read more

Went here a few times on our beach trip because of its convenient location. It wasn't anything special, good ice cream but nothing to die for. The cinnamon waffle cones were different and yummy, though! The workers weren't exactly friendly or excitable; but I suppose that's how it goes for high school workers in a busy tourist spot! I read some of the bad reviews with concerns about service and price. I think the prices are about average for what you spend at a good ice cream shop. I got 2 decent size scoops in a cup. I posted my concerns on Cone Heads facebook page and it mysteriously vanished. I actually complimented the friendliness of the staff. The cookie monster ice cream is great. I would stick to the ice cream as their milkshakes are only average. They have a large selection with a lot of flavors to choose from. It's a nice place to get a treat after a day on the beach. About 10 minutes for the Old Town area of St. Augustine. They need to do a better job with COVID restrictions. There isn't social distancing and masks are loosely enforced. read more

In an area awash with ice cream shops how does one choose? Customer service, of course. This place was run by the nicest hardest working kid I've seen. We came in 3 minutes to closing and were greeted with enthusiasm (a tough order for anyone wanting to get home at the end of a shift). Better yet a guy came in with his family 3 minutes after closing and was not turned away but encouraged to come in and order. Good ice cream, great selection, and an incredibly kind and hard working crew. But, the manager was something to behold, as he ushered in the late customer he was also taking care of the outside trash, pulling down the canvas signs and simply hustling like nobody's business. I hope he's negotiated to work on commission- that kid is going places. Note this place, like many walk up spots, is cash only. Hit the ATM on your way. read more

Really great ice cream!! Loved that his is just across the way from our hotel! (Courtyard by Marriott). The peanut fudge ice cream hubby got was great! He loved it. I got the captain's butterscotch flavor and was impressed! It had brownie bits, peanut butter cups, butterscotch swirl, toffee bits and a vanilla ice cream base! Yum!!!! I will never go here again. I'd rather scoop ice cream from a tub or eat soft serve from McDonalds. Fist of all, I will say the staff was all working very hard, except the young female manager (probably a college aged employee) who could be seen lounging in the back office. Every once in a while she would pop out and offer a rude directive to the busy little bees who worked their tales off. You may ask how I got to witness this??? Well, I waited in line for 45 minutes only to find out that they were not offering shakes. The person in front of me asked and the person behind me was also planning to order one. I asked why they weren't making shakes and was told 1) we're out of cups 2) the shake machine was down 3) we're out of vanilla ice cream. I mentioned that they should put a sign on the door that they are not offering shakes as several people were asking for them and had waited in line for a long time. It was about this time that the manager came out. I asked her why I couldn't order a shake and she said "the line is long and we close soon. We don't have time to make your shake." Again, I mentioned the courtesy sign because I waited in line for 45 minutes. She turned her back on me while saying something rude under her breath. I didn't hear it, but the cashier's jaw dropped when she said it. I realize the staff members didn't have time to stop, but she was just hanging in the office. She could have hung a sign. Maybe even one that says "no shakes waiting 30 minutes of closing". Anyway, I ordered something else because who wants to stand in line that long for nothing? The ice cream wasn't even hard...it was melted. Not sure why so many people go here. We visit once per year and will NOT go again! read more

Coneheads was conveniently located right across the street from where I was staying in St. Augustine Beach and surprisingly, it was the only ice cream place in this general area. It's a small ice cream store with multiple flavors and milkshake options. The ice cream selection is unique as they take popular flavors and combine them. It's almost like you're getting 2-3 flavors in one flavor and it works out. The price points were very fair and the one scoop option turned out to be plenty for me as the nice girl behind the counter gave us a very large scoop. We ate our ice cream on the short walk back to the hotel and it held its shape. It didn't melt too fast and it tasted very good. We were both happy with our decisions and enjoyed a nice scoop of ice cream on a rather warm day. read more

Everyone was wearing their masks when we visited. However several of the younger staff had their masks below their noses. We ordered 3 pup cups 2 turtle sundaes and a chocolate milkshake. Sadly, on two separate visits during our time here this week the YOUNG staff is rude and not friendly. The place was not overwhelming busy for them to have such attitudes. One even yelled at my four year old about touching the glass... She is four and excited about icecream. Just a friendly please don't touch or a sign would have sufficed. Great service!! We went there for icecream last weekend and loved it!! Their flavors are great!! I got coconut rum mixed with the pineapple orange... it was wonderful!! Sooooo the captains something or the other was amazing too!! It had all kinds of little nuggets of goodness in it!! The black raspberry was fresh and inviting!! Gosh I could eat here all the time!! The service was great!! The place was hopping when we pulled up and always seems to be busy. If you are a coupon queen then keep out an eye in one of the local flyers they have a 20% off coupon!! I saw the raving reviews of this ice cream shop and thought I had to try it on our visit to St Augustine. The previous reviews spoke of incredible customer service and hard working folks... not sure this applies to all people. I entered, greeted by one employee and barely acknowledged by the rest. There were only two other customer in front of me, and behind the counter five employees. I stood in line as I waited for my order to be taken, still no acknowledgement. A group of about 6 teenagers came in making quite the commotion about not having cash and carrying on... the line continued to move on. Finally I thought, I can order a delicious creamy treat to end my first night of vacation. Nope... the employees walk by me and begin taking the order of the teenagers. I look around confused as to why I would be overlooked... i eventually walk out after none of the employees even bother to take my order or ask if I've been helped although I clearly stood in line in front of these teenagers patiently waiting. Really hoping this wasn't race related but seeing as how every customer that was helped around me gleamed in their unmasked pale faces... it's hard to think otherwise. read more
