If I could give this place zero stars I would. This was probably some of the worst ice cream my family and I have ever had. We recently visited St. Augustine and Anastasia Island for vacation and chose to get ice cream here. That was a mistake. After taking one bite of our ice cream, we all threw our cups away. There were ICE CHUNKS in the ice cream, so the ice cream basically had freezer burn. There was also NO FLAVOR (we had mint choc. chip, cookie dough, and vanilla). Give 2 stars for staff lack of customer service and nasty hot dogs! Family of 6 ordered hot dogs. 3 of which was for small children. Red head girl couldn't keep up with order and then brought kids hotdogs out with ketchup and mustard when we said all with ketchup except 1 with mustard only. We simply said "wash them off and bring back for kids". No big deal. She was so rude and acted like we told her incorrectly. How many 4 and 6 year olds eat mustard? I did when I was a kid but..... Haha Anyway, she also shorted the order by 2 hotdogs. So my Dad had to get up and pay for additional order. When he did the teenage supervisor told my Dad the red head felt mistreated...... Really? Red head never returned to the front. The hotdogs were disgusting and cold. Not all beef as told when ordering. Go for the ice cream only! Anyway, there was one young lady who took our ice cream order after lunch. As small kids in an ice cream shop ..... We decided to give it a chance. She was very polite! I came here on a whim one night because I was passing by and I had never seen this place. I love the name :) by the way. I went in to get my son and myself ice cream and the staff consisted of 1 guy and 2 girls and boy were they friendly and treated me like I was the most important person in the world! I got vanilla ice cream in a cup for my 4 year old and the lady behind the counter was nice enough to offer to put a lid on the cup and put it in a bag with napkins, which was very thoughtful and it worked out perfect because my son was sitting in the back of the car. I cannot remember what flavor I got but it was great and I sampled a few prior to ordering and they were all fabulous! We will definitely be returning! read more

I wish I could give this place a lower rating, but it's simply not possible. We went there with some friends the other night to grab ice cream after a long day enjoying Saint Augustine. What a horrible mistake, the building looks dirty and dingy. Power washing and paint are NEEDED! The drive to the back of the building, that you can barely see due to poor lighting and are guided to the microphone to order. You are completely unable to see the menu, one of our group hands to get out and read it back to us! When we pulled up to the window, we all were taken aback by the alarming number of spiders, bugs, ants and so much more! We could hear the manager making nasty comments to their employees. As if that weren't enough, it all tasted like cheap, store-bought ice cream. For the expensive cost, there should be some quality. The only quality I found with the entire business and why I didn't complain. They are kind and defined what customer service should be - articulate and willingness to help the customer. I love the ice cream here. We live within walking distance so we come frequently. The new "cash only" policy is bad business. Credit cards processing fees are part of business these days. I own a business myself so I calculated the fee cost from my purchase today. It would have been around 45 cents. The ATM which has been installed "for our convenience" charges $3.00! Man what can I say. The staff here is incredible. I was helped by a young fellow named Dillon Bot. He is a special one. He is quite the man. He let me sample every ice cream in the store. Was debating about stopping for a vanilla milkshake at either McDonalds or Coneheads. Wanted better than McDs so I opted for CHs. The shake was $6.00 for a small 8 oz serving, which seemed very pricy. To top it off it was one of the worst vanilla shakes I've ever tasted. Good ice creme but poor service from an employee with bleach blonde hair and thick framed glasses. Came in 5 mins before closing and it was obvious she was not interested in helping us or being pleasant whatsoever. A few other people came in 2 mins after close as we were being served and the same employee muttered "show some respect" under her breath (to our group not theres). She was cold and callous during the whole experience and clearly cared more about getting off at exactly close time rather then giving ice cream to a little girl. I understand serving ice cream requires mental prowess and backbreaking work day in and day out. Scoop after scoop piled higher and higher creating a boulder of solid mass similar to the one Atlas carried on his shoulders. No one questions that the Cone Head employee who serves 2 minutes after closing is akin to a solider in the armed forces who has made a similar sacrifice with their life. And I know that it's a great injustice that she couldn't have found a line of work more befitting for the French monarch that she is. Perhaps she was not taught basic manners during her liberal arts major. Awesome ice cream! My husband, 17-month-old daughter and I are staying right down the street for a few days. We went for a walk on the beach and decided to grab ice cream on our way back to the hotel. I got the chocolate chip cookie dough and my husband got a strawberry milkshake. We were both very impressed by our order. I took a sip of his shake when our daughter wasn't hogging it and it was delicious! When on a beach vacay, you have to have ice cream. We ate here twice and the ice cream is very good. Parking is a challenge. When you drive up, there are a few spots on either side of the place; they do have a drive through, as well, just be patient on that. ONLY cash is accepted (I think I I saw an ATM inside). The first night the line was OUT the door, but they had a bout 5 employees working behind the counter, so that helped. They also will let you try FREE samples of flavors. I had a chocolate scoop that first night, and the ice cream is clearly very rich/high fat. My son had a strawberry shake which he said was very good. My daughter enjoyed cotton candy in a cool waffle cone. The next time we went my son remarked his strawberry shake seemed more like a smoothie (?) but that it was fine. My daughter tried the lemon poppy and a blackberry flavor (in waffle cone again) and said it was very good. I was going to get a hot fudge sundae, but the girl said the sundaes were made w/ soft serve and I didn't really dig that concept, so I got a scoop of chocolate and a scoop of a peanut butter instead - very good. Def would return to Cone Heads (not cheap but it is vacay for the three of us day two it was 17.00). The employees working both nights were kind and professional, too. read more
