Little charmer located on the east side of the 101 freeway in Newbury Park. Love this little 'hole in the wall' and it great to see an independent 'owner operator' still at it after all these years. Evidently there are people like myself who just get tired of the corporate giants pushing aside the little guy, they have not succeeded here! Owners name is, Shehad, (no idea how to spell it) and it is easy to see why he has a loyal customer base; he is attentive, remembers his patrons names and what they regularly drink and just an all around people's person. They have done what they can with the location as the layout is a little awkward; they have made it appealing and inviting with a comfortable lounge style area in the back, nice patio area and a few tables inside. Bottom line at the end of day of course is the coffee and the service; decent coffee, (gavina)nothing amazing and the service is excellent. What a find! I was just shopping at target and searched "coffee shop" and this one popped right up. From the outside it's small and I didn't expect how awesome it would be inside. Reminds me of the old Denver coffeehouses of the 90's where people would just hang out and talk or playing chess. The furniture in the back is eclectic like hanging at grandma's house. The music is all over the place but perfect for chilling and having a conversation. The owner is super friendly and made me a prefect latte and bagel with cream cheese. They also sell coffee in bulk so I got some French roast to go! I definitely recommend grabbing a coffee to go or spend a few minutes just relaxing and catching up on some reading. read more

i have lived here for my entire life and have always passed by but never gone in. that finally changed this weekend and i went in to buy a few drinks for me,my boyfriend, and brother. mazapan latte - tasty but much too sweet. im not even sure there was coffee in it. but the mazapan bits were very yummy and pleasant. churro latte - winston inhaled this. i had a sip and will definitely be coming back just to fully try this caramelchino - pretty average but not bad i see myself coming back here to try food / have a coffee and just sit! glad i finally tried!! read more

I just want to mention how much I enjoy going to the Conejo Coffee Shop off of Wendy Drive and the 101 Fwy. This coffeehouse has been around for many years, but is now under new ownership. The owner and staff are friendl, the service is prompt and the food and drin are delicious. My favorite thing when I go is Colombian coffee and a breakfast burrito with sausage. The new menu contains specialty coffees, sandwiche, pastries, smoothies and many other delight. There is indoor and outdoor seating and ample room for conversation among the customer. Went in today for the first time after shopping at Target. The person behind the register was not wearing a mask, and after I realized I looked around more. This place looks quite interesting when I passed it. I was in desperate need for coffee this morning and I felt my money was better spent at a mom-and-pop place rather than Starbucks across the street. Play did I make the wrong decision. The store was small and they were two people in it already so I waited outside to go in and to keep my social distance. The people inside didn't seem to really care about Mastiff social distancing. When two people arrive without mass and showed right behind me I left a place. This shows no respect PSI answer for human life. Absolutely thee best coffee shop around. The owner, Shehab is the greatest. 5 years ago - when my twins were newborns I was so tired and both of them fell asleep in my car. I called while I was in the parking lot and he happily brought my coffee order out to me. I became a life long committed customer after that moment and to this day I have not been let down. He also sells really good bags of coffee to take home! I love going to Conejo Coffee and taking my family with me to get breakfast or treats. I went in to get a coffee this last weekend. I had forgotten to wear my mask, halfway to the door...went back, got my mask and the owner was standing behind the counter, NOT wearing a mask. I said, you don't require masks? He said no, as if it were some kind of statement of defiance. I asked, "you don't wear a mask'?, he said no, again like it was a stance or something. I turned around and left. There wasn't another person in the entire place. I went to Starbucks, which was not my first choice, but...they afford me the courtesy of wearing a mask which is a decent and polite, not to mention safe thing to do. Little cozy coffee shop. I like the coffee smell when you first walk in to the store. It is a family owned business with super friendly staff. I ordered a breakfast smoothie, which has banana, other fruits, and protein powder, and an Egg O'Bagel with whole wheat - they were delicious! The portion was pretty decent. I was very full after finishing them all. I noticed food they use are generally healthier alternatives (egg whites, almond milk, etc..) The space is quite limited so I could imagine it being crowded during rush hours. I'd love to come back more often to support this local business! read more
