This place seems like it's seen better days. The food was fine. Nothing other-worldly but when you're going for coney dogs you ain't expecting gourmet. I had a coney and it was solid. They also had an option for a tamale with chili which kinda blew my mind - I had never seen that before, so of course I had to try that. It was decent enough - I found that the chili over powered the taste of the tamale but the chili was good so no complaints. The location was sparse. It's a big enough space but most of the seating was old school-type seats with an attached desk. Didn't make a ton of sense. There were only a couple tables available. I wouldn't avoid going there again but it would have to be a time when I'm really craving a coney. read more

Quick, friendly, no frills fast food spot for Tulsa's famous coneys, aka their version of a chili cheese dog. We got 3 coneys and fries. The place is cute, but we came in a few min before closing not knowing and one of the staff members was rather rude about it. Trying to get us to take it to go and making snide comments. The food wasn't bad but they scrambled to put things together, which was fair, but some of the buns were pretty dry. The other two employees were very sweet and gave us no issues. I have visited this place since I was a kid (my mom grew up in Tulsa and she also has visited since she was a kid). I loved their previous places - one was next to a bar with cool old glass bricks. The school desks have been a fixture, no matter where their location has been. These are cool but the average adult may be too big for them. The location on Boulder now has regular chairs and counter seats. As with all food places (restaurant, grocery stores, etc) prices have increased. Their 3 coney and drink special is now over $8. They now offer different specials - like 2 coneys, chips and a drink. They also offer tamales, frito chili pie, chili fries, chili spaghetti, and of course, chili to-go! Back at their small location, I saw a customer bring in a rectangle tupperware container and order about 10 coneys to take home. Ultimately, staff were cool but the food was blah. I wanted to like this place but it just wasn't good. I sat in the parking lot working prior to going into this spot. People came in groves, as a small rush happen right around 2pm. I finally went in around 4pm- at time where it appeared to be notoriously slow for the establishment. The place smelled like Fabuloso. No one was in the sitting area and the cashier came from the back about 2 minutes after I arrived. Fries were dropped fresh while coney was being made. I'm thinking since he was able to make my coney so quickly, he pulled my fries up a tad bit too early to ensure I ate those with my coneys. Nice of him but the fries were too undercooked. The chili on the coney had an unusual taste to it. I just couldn't quite enjoy it like I wanted to. To top it off, the ketchup was served cold. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE 3 hotdogs and a drink will run you about 6.25 and you will be satisfied with your purchase to no end. They've moved several times since I've been a customer but now they are in a big nice place right next to mexacali with lots of parking and lots of seating. The wonderful lady that has ran the register forever is still there and just as sweet as ever. Even gave me a hug even though it's been three years since I've been there. I'm very happy to see them in a nice place but I was told that lost a lot of business by moving over there. So you guys that are lucky enough to be in Tulsa need to make sure you go there as much as possible so they keep doing great! And by the way, I'm jealous of you all for having access to the greatest coneys ever. read more

Not a fan. Seems to be hyped up mostly by locals... None of the ingredients are quality. When I saw the hot dog and bun I thought to myself "oh the chili must be killer then." Wrong! this was my second visit. first visit, i had 3 coneys & they were super good. perfect amount of chili & cheese, as i recommend to top it off with the seasoning they have in-store. also, i top mine off with hot sauce as well. yes, your insides might burn, yet it's worth it. the second visit, they came out with the cheesy chili fries so that's what i went with just to try something different. just like the coneys, the fries were good as well. now with the fries, they give you more chili & cheese than they do on the fries. i also top it off with the seasoning & hot sauce & i was FULL. during both visits, the employees were generous & attentive. very nice & welcoming. they're in a prime location right across from a hotel & bars. they have more to choose from other than the two options i ordered, go check them out! p.s. try the jalapeno juice on the food as well. highly recommended! read more

It's always a shame when they close down and have to relocate, but it's always a joy when they re-open. This new location is probably the best. Roomier than previous establishments,with the majority of seating being the old school desks, but this time there's a large communal table and some seating along a wall. Prices are still the same. The workers are still friendly. Added bonus is that they no longer charge for drink refills. Always good for a quick lunch, snack, and now readily available after some Brady District/Guthrie green fun. read more

The original. The one and only. It is a steamed bun and a slow grilled very small dog with simple , straightforward mustard and onions hot dog. It is not a charred sausage that "snaps in your teeth" where you get that crazy idea, John H.? This is intended to be a tender morsel, dripping slightly spicy chili in a white bun. As has been reference by previous Yelpers this place has been around for a long time. 1926. I've been coming here since probably around 1975 when my sister and I would stop in on our way to the library and make "suicides" which is what you call it when you let kids self serve and they mix every single kind of soda available at the fountain. Delicious with Frito pie, which is also perfect here. Full circle from my vegetarian and organic produce phases I came straight back to this place. I eat here every time I'm in town because I respect what they do: This dog. This bun. This chili. It is all perfect. The special - 3 chili dogs and a "free" drink for 6$- will fix almost any hangover. And yes, they have a bathroom for paying customers, because this corridor of gentrification also shares a lot of traffic with the local jail and homeless shelter. He's serving you your hot dog now. Same dude. The hot dogs are small, about half the diameter of a ball park hot dog, and about the same length. They are usually served/eaten as a trio. Three dogs, covered in chili, cheese, and onions. Get them. It's only $6! Very friendly staff, very clean, and it's super quick and easy. I walked in, ordered, paid, and was sat down eating in under 4 minutes. The hot dogs are really simply good. Good flavor and the topping distribution was perfect, from tip to toe. The cool school desk seating is fun, and there is plenty of air circulating to keep you cool from the heat. I'd happily come here again for a mid-day snack (I wouldn't call it a full meal) but it'll do well to more than tide you over until the next one. This is simple, classic, American. Hot dogs. If you are use to real coneys, the kind where the skin of the hotdog snaps when your teeth bite into the hotdog, this is not the Coney Island for you. I thought I had found my favorite Coney in Tulsa all the way up until my first bite. When you walk in there are old school desks. You know the kind; the ones where the desktop is connected to the chair itself. All the seats are facing forward and it was busy enough to make me feel like I was on to something. The menu was simple. For me, I knew I wanted coneys and there were only 2 options on the menu. With or without cheese is the choice. I ordered with of course. Both options included a "free drink" for less than $6.00. I filled my Pepsi and say down excited for what I was certain would add another layer to my Tulsa dining experience, what happened next left me underwhelmed and severely disappointed. Expecting the snap of a firm hot dog covered in chili, cheese, and onions... nothing. I looked at my sandwich only to see a pale, white, limp hot dog. It looked water logged and could have easily been traded for a thin Bar-S brand hot dog boiled in water. I finished my three coneys as they didn't taste bad, however this will be the only time I ever come here. I'm beginning to wonder if an authentic coney is nothing but a dream this far south and inland. Customers leave if you have staff arguing loudly behind the line for all to witness. It appeared to be family members. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable. I have been coming to Coney Island for around 45 years. I like the new location and you still get that old school feel. Employees are always courteous and the cashier is very friendly. We've become good friends since I have been going there. This Coney Island is what sets it apart from the others. No turn over of employees here.
