I absolutely love Dilly Diner! The portions are huge and reasonably priced but I always get the Jed (giant cinnamon roll). In my opinion, it's the best cinnamon roll in Tulsa and I've checked around, I assure you! The coffee is good and the atmosphere is a classic diner experience! Dilly was a stumbled upon gem! Stopped in for a bite while in between appointments. I forgot to take pictures but I have a feeling we will be back so ill get some next time. What i thought I was ordering was a simple 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, wheat toast and bacon. What I got was a huge plate of everything!! The food was great! The portions were very generous. Stopped in for a late lunch and to meet a friend. I started with coffee and the chips and dip. The chips were mostly broken pieces but still very delicious in the blue cheese dressing. I also had the chef salad which is plentiful with lots of fresh ingredients, crisp greens, meats and cheese. A great deli feel. The service is no nonsense and ready to rumble. So I came back for the second time and ordered nearly the same order for my first visit: three eggs, scrambled soft, bacon, a biscuit gravy, and this time I went with instead of a tomato. Sadly, just like my first time, the kitchen does not know how to cook eggs scrambled soft. The eggs again came out as rubber. I told the at to the person that brought my food out and told him not to worry about it and he said he'll be right back. Then the waitress came and I told her that the eggs are still not right and that the kitchen does not know how to cook eggs scrambled soft, and she got very defensive saying "they are doing the best they can, I can go get you more" and I told her don't worry about it because if they can't do it first time, they definitely probably can't do it the second time. She asked me if I'm one of the manager and I said sure whatever. The manager came and asked me and I told her I said listen this is the second time I've been here each time. I've ordered eggs scrambled soft and they can't get them right. At that very moment the guy who brought me my plate brought me a side of eggs and they were actually scrambled soft. Imagine that the kitchen can do it right. The ironic part is then the waitress didn't want to come back into only the manager came to serve me because .... I was mean to her, I guess. What is wrong with all of these young children not liking it when you point out something wrong to them. I came here to order the food and eat food that I want not what y'all want to serve me. I'm sorry if your kitchen sucks and doesn't know how to cook. If you can't deal with a customer pointing out how bad your kitchen is, maybe you should work somewhere else. It had been a while since we dined here. We had a table of four around 12:45. Ordered pretty promptly and waited on food for about 45 minutes. Some of our coffees were luke warm at best. I tried one of the frittatas and it was pretty bland. (It was the sausage mushroom one.) I ended up putting ketchup on it. (I know, that's a travesty.) Some of it was still a bit runny to top that off. And, it's a huge serving so if it had been stellar, I would have taken some home. Accompanying fruit was fantastic, though. An old diner that exists today, in our otherwise "posh and glam style, restaurants try and be these days.....I love to see a place like this stick around. When it came to the table...I thought "This is gonna be a real treat". It has the color and texture...I thought I was in business. Oh my gosh, was I wrong. The gravy had a very off putting taste of some sort...that was such a disappointment. The breakfast sausage gravy; was merely the chicken fried steak gravy - with pork sausage added. The tomato soup or the chicken noodle soup...weee ok (to good). Chicken noodle soup is what you'd expect. The tomato soup was a bit different twist...but a good twist. Breakfast burrito. It was ok, but nothing special at all really. The side of fried potato chunks were pretty good. Chicken and waffles. Again, ok...but hardly a top shelf rendition of a timeless southern classic dish. Breakfast tacos. Simple put: Mehhhh.... The place itself and atmosphere. It's awesome and again, quite the neat little place. this was my first time in Tulsa, so I had to stop by what seem like a local institution. it was a weekday, so service was pretty quick. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. it definitely feels like an old-school diner with more modern vibes. For those that are looking for brunch on the weekend with a few mimosas or alcoholic drinks, the selection seems to be quite good. But I was here for work, so Coffee and orange juice were my go to's for the day. My server was very quick to take my order and help me. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which wasn't quite my fave. it came with a couple different syrups and a nice piece of chicken on top. The waffle was a bit too cheeky/thick for my taste. It was definitely not fluffy like I was hoping for. The chicken was quite good though. as a sidenote, this area seems to be navigating an uptick in the number of folks experiencing homelessness. Came here on a Sunday morning for brunch before leaving back to OKC after a girls' weekend trip to Tulsa. It was conveniently located walking distance from our hotel (Hyatt Regency) in Downtown Tulsa, so we walked to/from this diner. There is an actual diner/bar area where you can sit at, but also plenty of booth/style seating and high tops where my friend and I sat. The exposed ceilings added to the trendiness of this spot. Food: *Biscuits & Gravy* I spied someone else who ordered a biscuit, and had to order it myself, because it's my favorite breakfast food! The biscuit was so flaky and fluffy and delicious. The gravy was tasty as well. I added an egg over medium and the flavors and textures balanced out perfectly. *Pancake* My friend and I shared a short stack of pancakes. Absolutely delicious. The batter they use is very flavorful and the pancakes came out super fluffy. Topped with maple syrup and I was in heaven. I would return back and try other foods. Dilly Diner is well-loved by Tulsa, and for good reason! I came with a group of 9 and thankfully, we didn't have to wait for a table! Our waitress was fantastic. I wish we had gotten her name so I could give her a shout-out for being the absolute best. I never met anyone as kind and conversational as her. Both breakfast and lunch are served all day, but everyone in my party opted for breakfast. I had a short stack of pancakes with Nutella buttercream. For only $4.95, I received 4 huge, fluffy pancakes. The tall stack is 7 plate-sized cakes, which would be too much for even me--a pancake connoisseur--to finish! The Nutella buttercream costs $2 to add to the pancakes, and it was the best $2 I spent! It tasted like 95% chocolate and 5% hazelnut, but it was delicious nonetheless. Served by the dollop, the buttercream was the perfect topping that made a good meal great. One thing that really impressed me about the Dilly Diner was the fruit cup. Instead of a pathetic bowl of melon, the fruit cup was a mix of berries and apples, all tasting fresh and juicy. The frittatas were popular at my table, and so were the breakfast potatoes.
