Raw chicken is served here often, but only by one cook. Steve sent me undercooked wings, when I sent them back, he refried them with bbq sauce on them and sent them back to me. Not only were they disgusting to look at, this was a health code violation. I have been going here for years and never had a problem until Steve started. Sandy, it's time for you to fire your son. The stench of stale cigarettes hits you in the face when you walk in. TVs are low def. Ambience is seedy and it was cold. Food options are mostly deep fried. Nacho chips were stale. No one came to refill ice tea. One waitress for the entire place. Go somewhere else. read more

We are from the Willamette Valley and were here for the week camping. We first tried to come here on Saturday around 8 and were turned away because apparently they required reservations on Fridays and Saturdays. This was disappointing as there wasn't anything online about that (we had looked up places to eat in Coos Bay with good reviews) and there was a table perfect for our group that was open, not to mention quite a few others. A couple of us came back on Tuesday that week and were sat immediately. But that was about all that was really special that day. The chairs were uncomfortable and badly upholstered, and the table next to us was clearly a folding table. When we asked the server what was on tap, his response was " I don't know, it's a rotating list of 20 something beers". There was no offer to get a list or go get the information for us, we had to walk up to the bar to see what there was. Then our server didn't return for another 10 minutes to take our order. I ordered the philly cheesesteak and tater tots. It came with Au Jus like it was a French dip. There wasn't anything special about it. The people with me agreed that the food was basic bar food. Service was surprisingly slow for a place on a Tuesday that really wasn't busy. We were disappointed with our experience considering all of the positive reviews there were online. read more

This was our first visit. We had mixed feelings. I liked the beer selection though I only had one. Desserts were good. We had pear pie. My wife enjoyed scallops and chips though wished there had been more than four. I got oysters and chips thinking of Willapa Bay or Yaquina Bay oysters. These were supersized Coos Bay oysters which were not very good. Because of their size, the batter absorbed a lot of oil. I ended up with indigestion. Service was excellent and friendly. Where do I begin. A group of us stopped by on our way to a music festival and were instantly greeted by a very charming lady named Sandy. She couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. We ordered fantastic Bloody Mary's, and other drinks and got there award winning fish basket. Also ordered burgers and sandwiches and every turned out delicious. Sandy was so great we even wanted her as part of our trip photo memory book so we had her take a selfie with us. Great place to hang out with friends. It has that neighborhood bar/lounge feel to it. 2 pool tables. Big screen TVs everywhere so folks do not miss the Ducks Games. (I think right now its the only bar in coos bay with pac 12 making it the only bar where you can see the Ducks play). Great bar food. I love the hand dipped beer battered chicken strip basket! We are here in Coos Bay for work and needed a place to watch the NLCS game and relax. Long story short: the buffalo wings are incredible, mozzarella sticks as well. I have only been there once around Christmas time, but have fully intended to go again. The female bar tender was very cordial and served my husband and I at a table near the TV and the front windows. The holiday decor was great! The food was good, but the main reason we went there was because it looked different than other places in the area. It just has a great atmosphere for relaxing and feeling welcome. Came here for a late lunch. The place was completely dead. The bartender/server was friendly, and our sandwiches were really good. My husband and I got BLTs with coleslaw on the side, and boy, did we get a healthy serving. The entire plate was heaped with food. BLTs are super simple, but these were pretty darned good. There were lots of tables and even some couches if you wanted to grab a beer and watch a game. As for the blessed Cheese Burger and Fry's. I give this place 4 stars. The kind friendly service is a plus's too giving this family friendly pub a 4 Star rating. There are gas fireplaces and pool tables. There are a variety of magazines and books available. The restrooms are clean and for those that enjoy a drink they have over 20 beers on tap as well as liquor concoctions. It has been a good year since I had one. The only reason i'm giving it a three is that it was an unusual setting..we went out for a light dinner and a beer....when we walked in we weren't sure if they had a real menu or just bar food. They did have a full menu but we ended up with a sandwich I had a BLT with coleslaw which was amazing. ..my husband had cold macaroni salad with his but he's not a fan of Olive's and his sandwich was way to big so we brought it home (never ate it). We are here last night and it was delicious. We had a hamburger and the fish and chips with a side of fried pickles....first time I have seen them in the PNW. The staff was great!!! The front half of the restaurant is the bar for adults so we sat towards the back in the family section. Apparently we ordered the typical Yelp review recommendations...they do not disappoint.
