This is a must when in Wells! Starts around 4pm and filled with food trucks (rotating list). They have a truck that also serves their donuts and other goodies as well as beer/wine and there are picnic tables and corn hole. Buuuut my fave thing to do was to get our food and then go sit inside their beer garden where they serve their special Honey dipped blonde beer from Barreled Souls brewery, served with a donut hole. They have other beer/wine and mixed drinks inside as well and there are restrooms too. read more

I love a few food trucks here but I wish the hours could be more consistent. I have driven there 4-5 times this year, only to find it closed, some nights when it wasn't even raining. My family and I tried the food trucks at congdons two days ago. The place was buzzing on a Monday night. Food trucks we sampled Congdons kitchen. My son had chicken fingers abs waffle fries and enjoyed his food Macdaddy seafood. My mother loved her haddock sandwich. My fathers lobster roll was so-so My aunt and uncle abs my Brother and I all got food from el rodeo go. I had Mexican style steak tacos which were excellent. My brother and aunt abs uncle all had chicken quesadillas. My brothers was great unfortunately my aunt and uncles quesadilla was lacking chicken and did not look appetizing We also shared poutine and spicy fires from knew potato caboose. I'm reviewing not just the food truck with Congdon's doughnuts but the whole food truck collection that makes this such a fun experience. There's such a great variety of options from pizza to BBQ to fish and chips and lobster. I went with the Maine classic lobster roll and "chowdah" cause I was not staying in the area so had to choose just one. My sister got fish and chips from a different truck and both were very good. But the best and probably most unique offering is the truck with Congdon's doughnuts where you can also get a doughnut sundae! Who even heard of such a thing!? It was AMAZING! you pick a doughnut and get a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and a choice of chocolate or caramel syrup and chocolate or rainbow sprinkles. I got a maple bacon fritter (OMG so good even plain!) with the caramel syrup and no sprinkles. Perfection! My sister got an apple fritter and my friend a coconut doughnut. All of them looked fantastic and everyone was happy with their choice. We were so happy to even get doughnuts at all since the main shop closes at 2 so we thought we were out of luck. But the doughnut sundae option and food truck selection was even better than what we had planned. read more

First - this is an awesome place! However - this is not a review of the food itself but rather the environment, set up and concept of Congdon's After Dark. Environment - fun, summer loving, relaxed, refreshing, and creative. You'll find mostly happy upbeat vacationers here enjoy an amazing beach day. There's music, there's beer, there's hooks hoops, the staff is goofing off (in a god way) and wants you to enjoy your time here. Set up - outdoors, with clean picnic tables. Plenty of seating. Very clean. There's indoor bathrooms. There's shady areas and areas in the sun. There's an area on the grass and an area on the small pebble gravel. There's tons of parking. And there's views of the ocean. Concept - it's rotation food trucks! From bbq, to caribbean food, to comfort food, to ice cream, to beer, to face paint, to awesome donuts. Pretty much something for everyone. And they all take credit cards. That said food is hit or miss based on which truck is there - but if you don't like it try another truck and you'll likely find something you enjoy. My girlfriend, a couple of our friends and I tried CaD for the first time last night AND FELL IN LOVE! We loved the selection of food trucks and the layout. We each got something different and found a picnic table to sit at. We all loved our food and even better it was all reasonably priced! I unfortunately did not get a chance to try the beer garden as I was driving but I would love to try it the next time that we go. The environment and over all energy was awesome. They update their Facebook page with the exact food trucks that will be there that night. I went on a Friday and they were still serving but slowing down at 10pm. I think they start at 4. Fried whole belly clam platter at taste of Maine were awesome, although lobster roll was tasty the bun was a bit crushed and not buttered. Cheeseburger at hoss and mary was excellent. Loved our experience at Congdon's. We arrived on a Saturday evening in August. Almost no wait for food. Can't beat that for the busy summer season in Maine. Easy parking and plenty of picnic benches for our feast!plenty of food options for the whole family. Kids opted for cheeseburgers and hotdogs. I of course had to go with the lobster roll and seafood chowder. Delicious! Could not leave without Congdon's Donuts :). Honey dipped is they way to go! read more

A group of us had grass-fed burgers from Tripp's (nicely done with good fries), fried fish (good) and lobster roll (excellent, with lots and lots of lobster) from Tasting Maine, and beer and lemonade from the drinks truck. Friendly vendors, nice customers, easy parking, and dog-friendly (we brought ours). We got there at 6:15 and it was really busy--we left around 7:30 and the crowds were beginning to thin out. Many vendors take credit cards, and there's an ATM on site. If I'm in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The trucks rotate, so there will always be something different. read more

I reviewed Congdon's After Dark 3 mos ago. We came back last night and had a great time. This is not junky greasy cheap food. Its good food, very clean, lots of parking, lots of picnic tables and well lit. Last night seemed to be 50's/Elvis night and there was lots of fun music. Its like having a picnic and a great option for families. Last night there were trucks with Italian food, sandwiches, seafood (the lobster mac n cheese was $7, about 1-1/2cups and DELICIOUS, seashell pasta with homemade cheese sauce and big chunks of lobster!), empanadas, bbq, a gluten free truck, burgers and cheesesteaks, Congdon's doughnuts freshly made, carried out by the trayful, a bar truck too. What's nice is despite alcohol being available nobody was sloppy or obnoxious. It was a nice family environment. If you don't want to wait 45min for a table at a restaurant I highly recommend Congdon's After Dark. read more

My boyfriend and I basically come to Maine to eat. When we heard the food truck park opened a week after we last visited, we couldn't wait to come back. We came in tonight for the first time. We had an excellent burger with chicken fingers on it from Hoss & Mary's. We also had some great poutine style fries from Knew Potato. Everyone had something unique to offer. It was hard to choose. We got some stuff to go from the Congdon's Doughnuts truck. Hands down, the BEST doughnuts I've ever had. So light and airy. Absolutely delicious.
